Amazing home

The photos looked interesting but didn’t show just how nice everything at the house was. All the doors fixtures and surfaces you touch were so nice. The yard is amazing and was great for the kids to play in between their many trips to the beach. We loved the location. The kitchen had oils and spices so we could make a feast from the farmers market without having to start from scratch.

Charming house steps from Hanalei Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love stay here again. The house was well stocked with everything we needed. There was plenty of beach equipment-toys, chairs, umbrella and more.

Hanalei Bay Paradise

This place is as good as the photos look, we loved our stay here. The location is great a short stroll across the sand to the beach and a short drive into town. The property was clean and very well provided for. The views of the mountains behind the house are breathtaking. I hope to be back.

Awesome getaway

Beautiful spot on the beach, perfect for a solo traveler, a couple or boys trip get-away. With all the huge properties along the beach it was so refreshing to have a "cabin" on a massive stretch of land leading to the beach. It felt like a perfect escape from reality. I'll definitely be back!

The home is clean, comfortable and has a well-stocked kitchen. It is a short walk to Hanalei town which is convenient. The yard is beautiful and lush and peaceful for yoga and reading.Patches, the cat kept us company too!

Everything you could need for your stay was available - from beach chairs, to board games, to spices and condiments in the kitchen, to toiletries in the bathroom. The linens were wonderful and the beds were so comfortable. We even became very fond of the property's outdoor cat and roosters. We hope to come back sometime soon!

Amazing location

Couldn't have stayed in a better location. It's the right distance from the beach. The backyard is gorgeous, with a beautifully maintained platns and trees, gazebo and an outdoor shower enclosure. The property manager was very responsive. Wish the second bedroom was a proper bedroom, it's a small enclosed area and our 13 year old didn't want to sleep there. Bathrooms are well stocked and have fairly okay fixtures. Kitchen is equipped with all that is needed for a short stay. the laundry and dryer need to be replaced. You can't sleep when they are on (extremely loud). Overall enjoyed our stay and took some amazing pictures in the back yard and had breakfast in the gazebo.

Family Fun

Great place for 1-4 people/family. Technically there are 3 beds; 1 adult BR, 1 smaller BR for 1 and the living room can also sleep 1. Very clean place, kudos to cleaning crew. We never felt cramped as the back yard really opens up the space. Steps to a couple volleyball courts and then the beach. Summer brings kind of rolling clouds/showers, never really bothered us or got too heavy. There was supposed to be steady rain the following week, which might have put a damper on some stays as it’s not a very large house if you’re stuck inside. AC was great, kitchen got the job done, did fair amount of grilling. Overall, we enjoyed our stay a lot. It’s not cheap, but the location and property really worked for our family of 4. Lots of beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, etc.

Cozy Chill Quaint Quiet Hanalei Bay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hale Maluhia Hanalei. The house was perfect for the two of us. The location was an excellent spot from which to launch our Kauai adventures. We loved the open main room and the doors that open to the outside. The beach was fantastic. That being said, two adjustments must be made to the property. 1) the water pressure in the indoor shower is awful. 2) the outdoor shower should have a door or half door or otherwise be constructed in a more private manner. Despite those small complaints, I highly recommend this home for a small family or couple.

Absolutely perfect house on Hanalei Bay

My husband and I had an absolutely perfect five days at Hale Maluhia. The location is so lovely, right on the bay and mere minutes from the fantastic town of Hanalei. We loved watching the surfers, the professional-level beach volleyball players, and the incredible sunrises and sunsets right from our own backyard. Everything about the house exceeded our expectations. The sweet cat Patches was a wonderful companion. The concierge service was excellent (we had groceries waiting for us stocked on arrival, had a SUP board delivered, and had massages at home, all seamlessly arranged by the fantastic Krishna). The AC in the bedroom was a welcome treat. The home is spotlessly maintained, the landscaping is gorgeous, and the outdoor shower is probably the best shower I have ever had in my life. We cooked dinner every night after exploring nearby beaches, hikes, and shopping. Hale Maluhia is designed for complete and total relaxation. We can't wait to come back!

Great House but issues with Hawaii life

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is great, no complaints about the property at all. The rental agreement does say they will charge you for feeding stray animals but the house has a resident cat that lives outside and the house comes stocked with cat food. Mixed messages? My big gripe with Hawaii life though is the amount of time they take to refund your deposit. They didn't even start to process the deposit return until 10 DAYS after we checked out and then the CC company takes another 10 days to post it so 20 days total until you get your money back. This is unacceptable! If they were to say after 10 days that we damaged something, how would we be able to respond? They have had another party already stay in the place and check out?!? I complained via email about the amount of time and they never responded so that says something about their customer service as well. If we can rent this property through another agency next year, we will.

Aloha Matt, first let me say that I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and that the house was up to par. Please accept our apologies for the mixed messages regarding the cat food. I have relayed this to the property manager in hopes that she can resolve the confusion. Additionally, I would like to apologize to you for not only what you found to be a delay in your security deposit refund but also the lack of response to your inquiry. It does state in your contract (page 3) that the deposit will be refunded within 14 days of your departure and this is pretty standard for vacation rentals. I cannot give a reason as to why nobody responded to your email but simply that it must have slipped through the cracks. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience and concern this may have caused you. We do hope you will return to Kauai and give us a second chance. Kindly, The Hawaii Life Vacation Rental Team

The perfect Hanalei beach house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in many houses on or near the beach in Hanalei. Hale Maluhia is our favorite. The location is perfect - in the Pine Trees area at the quiet west end of Weke road, behind the volleyball courts and near the parking lot, but situated in a way that there was no noise whatsoever and complete privacy. The house sits back away from the beach with a long private enclosed grassy area perfect for sitting on comfortable chaise lounges. The waves can clearly be heard from the house. Being able to walk directly onto the beach from the house fits our definition of paradise.As you can see in the pictures, the house has an odd exterior on the front, slightly ramshackle. But the interior is charming - thoroughly stocked, well chosen furniture, and completely relaxing. There's air conditioning in the bedroom which I can imagine would be quite helpful in the summer, and is hard to find in the Hanalei houses.We got lucky and no roosters crowed while we were in the house - a frequent problem for people trying to sleep in the morning in Hanalei. The cat is friendly and cat food is provided. We didn't let her in the house and she didn't seem to mind - but she took care of the morning wakeup duties days by crying for food early. Not a big problem. We were all friends.Although the shower outside is quite nice, our favorite touch was the frog that can wash your feet. Trust me. You'll like the frog.A wonderful property, expensive but worth it.
