Unique custom-built Key West style piling home with outdoor shower, plentiful parking underneath as well as long driveway, all new appliances (including washer and dryer), and welcoming porches in front, and screened porch in back. Old Florida living at its best with natural landscape, peaceful surroundings, and within minutes to water for kayaking and fishing. Open floor plan with lots of natural light. Pine ceilings in the kitchen-living area and wood floors throughout. Main bedroom with queen bed, walk-in closet, and private tiled bath with glass surround. Second tiled bath is accessible to hallway as well as pocket door to the second bedroom with two double beds and closet. Third small bedroom has bunk beds and shelving with games, books, and puzzles to enjoy! Trex decking on both the front porch and the screened back porch that is accessible through the master bedroom and overlooks the backyard's natural setting and outdoor shower. Plentiful cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, large kitchen island as well as table which provides seating for eight in total. Right around the corner is a county park with one of the only beaches on Pine Island and a boat ramp to launch your kayaks and small boats. Fun restaurants on the canals within a few miles, island shopping in Matlacha so close by, and several preserves easily reachable by bike to enjoy the natural wildlife~from eagles to alligators and more. Less pine trees now since Ian, however have added palms and fruit trees, I hope you appreciate the natural environment as much I do!

Loved this property. It felt like home away from home. Clean, well equipped and quiet. The only downside was the bridge construction causing delays to get on and off the island.
The house and neighborhood were lovely. Rooms were well- appointed and spacious. The host provided all the condiments and kitchen supplies you would ever need! The proximity to a great kayak launch pad was so nice. Plus getting up to the research center and museum was only minutes away.
Kim has a lovely home on Pine Island. It is comfortable and very well equipped. The outdoor shower is a wonderful bonus! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your piece of paradise!!
Our 2nd. stay for 2 weeks & hope to return again next yr. The home has everything you need. It is spacious with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, large front porch & large screened back porch. Washer & Dryer inside. Note: you need to be able to manage stairs. Only downside is that the bridge is still being rebuilt due to a hurricane, so plan on 20-30 minutes to get on & off Pine Island. Many restaurants.
This property would be a great rental for a family with kids. Good location & as with all elevated houses, the parking & storage for gear can't be beat.
House was clean & we encountered no problems. Home has all the amenities of home & the screened back porch makes for a nice sitting area.
Kim has an absolutly beautiful home, the color outside is what attracted us, (our favorite color) and the way it is decorated and the colors inside makes this a little taste of old style Key West and I would give this a 10 plus! This home was very clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need for your vacation! We loved the quiet neighborhood and the island with its laid back atmosphere and the good eateries! This was our first time to the island and we will definately be back! Thank you Kim for letting us enjoy your beautiful home on the island !!
The Pineapple Treehouse was just lovely. The home is so adorable & comfortable! Kim has literally thought of everything! 1000/10!!
My 2 little FYI’s for other travelers would be:
1. It’s pretty far from anything “to do”. Even though mileage wise, things seem fairly close, b/c of traffic, it takes quite a while to get anywhere (or at least that was our experience).
2. The community pool is about a 10 min drive away. It’s my fault for not asking specifically, but for some reason, I thought it was right IN the neighborhood.
Other than that, our vacation here was perfect & we would 100% stay again!!
Kim’s home is a small price of paradise on Pine Island. Can’t beat the location and the good vibes one gets while being there. Very well equipped with an excellent outdoor shower to boot! This property is a winner! Would not hesitate to return.
The property manager Kim was so kind. She responded quickly and provided tons of helpful information about the local area for us! The kayaks and bikes were also lots of fun! We utilized the outside shower nearly daily after long mornings at the beach. This VRBO was very clean and we would definitely love to stay here again!
THE BEST VRBO WE EVER STAYED AT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, the place is just gorgeous !!! Everything you could want was there. Crock Pot, clam steamer etc. .......................
Loved this rental. We already have booked it for a month next year. Neighborhood was very quiet with no property behind the rental. Limited places to eat but you are on an island that is just repairing the damage from hurricane Ian.
Our 2 rescue dogs loved watching the chickens next door.
A Well Designed House in an Appealing Location--Pine Island
If you like a rural, noncommercialized feel this location is ideal. This place was our base for active days of walking and bird watching. We enjoyed the critters that appear--mostly at night--an armadillo, Witch Moth, tree frogs, anoles and lizards. We liked the functionality of the kitchen and the living room. And the attention paid to design and decor. Got to be able to climb steps but no problem for me at 80 yrs old. We got take out from Pfuzzys and Berts. Good food. We went to Galt Preserve twice. We highly recommend this place. Marcia Pursley June 18-23, 2022

Great porches to sit outside.

I'm Kim, and this is my first investment property. I fell in love with it when I first viewed it, and I'm so looking forward to sharing it with you. I grew up and still live in PA, I have three grown children as well as three dogs. I love being outside in the warm weather and gardening, along with kayaking, swimming, biking, so this property is perfect! Take note of the pineapple garden and banana circle (with lemon grass too!). I hope you appreciate the natural beauty of the "Old Florida" vibe as much as I do!
Why they chose this property
The tranquility, the natural beauty, the active eagle's nest at Galt Preserve (and others!), the porches, outdoor shower, the ease of the open floor plan, adorable Matlacha, restaurants on the canal, minutes to kayaking, island life in general! I’m very proud of Pine Island and its resiliency since hurricane Ian.
What makes this property unique
Lots of personal touches here with the custom build of the house itself along with the local artwork I added. Along with the full porches , the paver patio with glass bottle wall is a nice touch for entertainment space. I sanded and painted the cozy couch and added Adirondack chairs for relaxing. There are solar lights throughout the property so it can be appreciated even after the sun goes down. There's something to island living, a slower pace, and again, natural beauty. The small local beach and the lack of traffic that is found on the mainland is a plus! Nothing like grabbing a drink or a bite to eat at the restaurants found on the canal in St James City (Low Key Tiki, Phuzzy's, Kickstands, Yucatán in Matlacha, and there's also The Lazy Flamingo in Bokeelia- have to try the mesquite grouper!). Be sure to check out the preserves, Galt Preserve has an active eagle nest in the highest pine tree to the left once you enter the preserve (a quarter mile in or so). Just take a walk through the peaceful neighborhood, an osprey nest is just down the street, and on the next street over a family of raccoons may be spotted (I've counted as many as eight at one time!). I so enjoy the fact that the house sits above the ground, so peaceful just to sit with coffee in the am on the front rocker, and at night on the back screened porch (no mosquitos or bugs to get to you!)
