FLY FISHING
Sitting on arguably the finest water of the upper frying pan river, LCCR offers some of the best fly fishing in the valley. Encompassing both sides of a half mile of private water, guests can avoid the crowds and spend hours fishing your own stretch of either frying pan or lime creek.
The river fishes truly world class with the opportunity of catching the pinnacle 20 inch brown or rainbow lurking with every cast. Fish numbers are healthy in both the river and creek as guests having 50 fish days is not uncommon. The current ranch record stands at a 27inch brown caught in the waterfall pool of the river.
As the namesake goes, the northern expansion of the property follows up the steep draws of Lime Creek Canyon. Wading a short distance up the confluence, you will find one of the most vibrant ecosystems between the canyon walls. A truly rare experience of meandering crystal clear water, creating technical riffles and pools, holding surprisingly large browns.
Another special event at LCCR is the fall migration of Kokanee salmon from ruedi reservoir. Every year thousands of Kokanee make their way to their final staging point on the property in attempts to spawn. the clouds of Kokanee are a sight to behold and add another special angling feature.
Also on the property we have a stocked pond adding easy accessibility for anglers or wildlife viewing.
While enjoying the benefits of the private water at LCCR, a short drive or hike and the fishing opportunities and variances are limitless. Float or wade the gold medal waters of the roaring fork, catch plus size trout below reudi, monster lake trout in the reservoir, bring home a limit of pan-size yellow perch or rainbows, or hike one of the hundred alpine lakes in the forest, the opportunities are endless.

RANCH HISTORY
Situated in the once booming mining community named Calcium, Lime Creek Canyon Ranch showcases the historical remnants of centuries past. Most notably the twin lime kilns built in 1888, which are the most intact kilns remaining in Colorado. Recently bought and preserved by Pitkin County, the kilns sit at center of the property for all to observe.
