About this property
Chalet directly on the lake, central storage, incl. access to private island
Welcome Home!
Fantastic wooden house with high-quality equipment right on the lake in the central lake of Nova Scotia! New building 2018! Functional, high-quality equipment. More photos will be online shortly.
There are many vacation homes in the world, but if you are looking for the extraordinary, the Dean Lake Chalet in Canada is the right address.
Furnished with a high quality with attention to detail, located directly on a lake area and of its design certainly ideal for well-being. The vacation can start directly at the house.
The Dean Lake Chalet in Southwest Country Style convinces above all with its high functionality and well thought-out room layout. The complete equipment is at a high level (including Washer and dryer, TV with DVD player, microwave, dishwasher, Weber grill, canoe, kayak etc.).
In the house there are a total of two bedrooms and another room which can be used as a library or bedroom. There is also a living room in the chalet and a large terrace outside. In the cozy, open living-dining-kitchen area on the ground floor there is a wood stove for the colder seasons. A highlight is certainly the large terrace that runs around the house on both sides. From the house you have direct access to the terrace and a panoramic lake view. The sunsets are unforgettable.
When building the chalet, sustainability was important and many building materials were used directly from the property, for example the natural stone wall behind the stove was created with stones from the property or the outside facade and the wooden element inside are made of wood from the trees that fell to create the access road had to be.
A sundeck is right on the water. Canoes, kayaks, charcoal grills, fishing equipment and an extensive portfolio with lots of information and restaurant tips are available free of charge. You can start many activities directly from the house.

LOCATION
The chalet stands on a 270,000 m² natural lake plot and has more than 2,500 m of private waterfront. Seven private islands are also included.
From Halifax International Airport (which is flown to from Germany by Condor from April to October, for example), it is about two hours to the Dean Lake Chalet. Beforehand you will pass Bridgewater, where there are several large supermarkets and a small shopping mall. Likewise, up to 15 minutes from the house you can reach Caledonia, where there is a supermarket, a gas station, a café / restaurant, a liquor store, a post office, a bank, and much more. This short distance between pure nature and shopping is rather rare for Canadian standards.
The location of the Dean Lake Chalet is particularly ideal for everyone who wants to discover southern Nova Scotia from here. It is only about 45 minutes to the cities of Liverpool and Bridgewater on the south coast or to the Bay of Fundy. It is just under 60 minutes to the UNESCO World Heritage city of "Lunenburg". The Kejimkujik National Park is only 20 minutes away by car and Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is at least 1.5 hours away.
lake
Dean Lake is perhaps one of the most beautiful lakes in Nova Scotia. It goes directly into the somewhat larger Mc Gowan Lake, in which there are other small islands. The lake conveys a real Canada feeling, because the shore is hardly built on: pure nature!
We recommend an extensive canoe and kayak tour, which is available to our guests to discover the interconnected lakes. The many small islands offer the perfect place to take a break in between. There is even a picnic bench on one of the seven private islands that belong to the property.
Fortunately, you will hardly find noisy motor boats, jet skis or even seaplanes. From the sundeck and from the house you have a beautiful lake view and can calmly enjoy the day on the water. In summer the water is warm enough to swim and in winter the lake is often frozen over.
wildlife
Due to the distance of approx. 12 km as the crow flies to Kejimkujik National Park, the wildlife and animal density is high. Since the cottage is also surrounded by nature, with a little luck you can spot white-tailed deer, raccoon, skunk or porcupine in the forest. Squirrels and chipmunks come to the terrace. At the lake you will also find the well-known bald eagles, Canada geese or the specially protected loons, which are among the ice divers and are depicted on the Canadian one-dollar coin.
HOUSE ACTIVITIES:
You can start many activities directly from the house. There is a lot to discover on the large property and in the immediate vicinity.
WALKS
In total there are almost 2 km of private paths on the property. Explore the area.
FISHING
There are many fishing opportunities here. Be sure to get a fishing license "Fishing License" beforehand. B. in Caledonia ..
SMALL HIKING (approx. 4 km)

LARGE TUPPER LAKE HIKING - page 7 (14 km)
A nice trail around Tupper Lake. Enjoy nature. About halfway there is a picnic bench and public access to the lake with swimming. Give yourself a break before starting the rest of the way.
Kayak and canoe
Explore the Dean Lake and Mc Gowan Lake area by kayak and canoe. A total of four lakes are connected and can be reached directly from the house.
TIP: Excursion by kayak and canoe to the private island belonging to the property. A large, comfortable picnic table invites you to linger here.
SWIM
Dean Lake invites you to swim in many places.
EVENINGS AND NIGHTS
Make yourself comfortable at the house and watch the starry sky. In good weather you can even see the Milky Way.
WINTER TIP
In winter when snow has fallen, the walks and hikes around the house are particularly fun. There is plenty of wood for cozy evenings around the fireplace.
