About this property

Located on a large, agricultural, acreage tract just 1 mile outside of the City of Marfa, the Merit Camp is a 2 bedroom/2.5 bath home constructed in 2021 with saltwater pool that can be heated. Uninterrupted views of the Davis Mountains to the north, Puertacita and Haystacks to northeast, Goat Mountain to east, and Chinati Peak to the southwest. There is nothing else like this home near Marfa!

We built the Merit Camp so guests could experience what it is like to live on an operational ranch, but only a few minutes drive to all that the town of Marfa has to offer. The home was sited to take advantage of the movement of the sun, the big sky, and the sweeping views 20-30 miles in each direction. There are miles of private walking trails on hundreds of acres available exclusively to guests of the Merit Camp. High end appliances, luxury linens, and top-quality furnishings throughout bring all the conveniences of a luxury home to the untamed High Desert; there is no need to compromise comfort.

Event Fees must be paid to have more than 6 guests (max 4 adults) onsite. There is a camera on the road, we will confirm the make/model of vehicles.

No smoking onsite, indoors or outdoors. Violations will result in forfeiture of your ENTIRE deposit. No fire pit or ground fires allowed.

Beautiful Property

The house is gorgeous, so sleek but cozy at the same time. The pool was perfect temp. Nice having the walled-in yard area for the dogs. you can see every star in the sky at night. Loved sitting on the back porch. Everything was great!

Marfa ranch house

The home was beautiful and very well appointed with anything you might need. The setting a short distance from Marfa is very peaceful. We saw cool wildlife near the house. We would definitely stay here again.

We are full-time Marfa residents, who live on a ranch and work in Marfa. We personally operate the 4 vacations rentals we own(The Merit Camp, The West Texan, The Downtowner, and The No. 3) in addition to our full-time jobs.

Why they chose this property

The Merit camp is the only vacation rental within 5 minutes of downtown Marfa on a substantial acreage tract. The house has most every convenience you would find at a 4 Star hotel on an operational cattle ranch. The views are incredible!

What makes this property unique

This is a private home on hundred of acres that is just a few minutes from Downtown! The Soake pool can be heated, perfect for year round use. The house is just 1.5 miles from the Presidio County Courthouse.
