Great location, dirty property
We took a chance on this place in hopes the response to previous reviews meant the property was cleaned better. This does not appear to be the case.
Upon arrival, we found old clothing left strewn around in the closets, airbeds and bedding unfolded and in piles on the floor, and linens crammed into the cupboard. It made matching up linens to the air mattresses difficult, and there were few hand towels to be found (so we had to buy some before we found some in a kitchen drawer).
The carpets have not seen a shampooer in quite some time, and I was glad I had flip flops to wear around the house to avoid the dirt and crust. The extensive tile had not been mopped, and there was hair in my shower and on the sink, so I don't believe that had been cleaned either.
When we were trying to inventory the air mattress sizes, I uncovered cockroaches. Suffice it to say, I let them have their dark closet and didn't go in there for the rest of the trip.
The game room was in disrepair, with masonry mortar powder spilled all over one corner and most of the games broken or needing assembly.
We paid a premium to rent during the eclipse, so the state of the house was disappointing. We realize the property will be renovated soon, but the house should be clean even if shabby.
Good points are that the house is in a safe neighborhood and close to amenities, including airports. It had enough space and parking for our family gathering. And the hostess answered questions quickly.
