Historic 1860s Creole Cottage apartment is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park–an easy 10-minute bike ride or 15-minute walk away. Super close to many festivals, Treme, Bywater, Faubourg Marigny, and the Mississippi River. Less than 15 minutes to the Superdome, Garden District, Audubon Zoo, Mardi Gras parades, festivals and great restaurants.
This carefully restored duplex in the Esplanade Ridge Historic District can accommodate 5 people, and has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms (one with a tub/shower, the other with a shower), kitchen, laundry, living room, fast Wi-Fi, and a piano.
The apartment is in a duplex and has three suites. Here's what's included:
–Suite 1: One bed, with television, sofa, desk and chair. One private bathroom with a tub/shower.
–Suite 2: One bed, with television, desk and chair. One private bathroom with shower only. Private entrance to the backyard.
–Suite 3: One bed, with television, desk and chair. The suite is on the second floor, so you'll have to walk up one flight of stairs. The suite does not have a bathroom, so you’ll need to use one of the apartment's two downstairs bathrooms.
The apartment has a private kitchen, washer/dryer and living room.
The living room has a desk and lots of natural light–it's perfect for remote workers!
You’ll love the 16-foot-tall ceilings, French doors, exposed brick, and original pine floors. You’ll also love the back patio–it’s perfect for drinking coffee, beer or wine, or eating a New Orleans po’boy sandwich. In the backyard on some afternoons and early evenings, you may hear a jazz band playing at a neighborhood coffee shop. You might see a traditional Second Line parade moving through the neighborhood's streets. We're within walking distance to many popular festivals, but removed enough to have an authentic New Orleans neighborhood vibe.
Please note that you'll have to walk up four small steps to enter the apartment.
We're totally open to relatively longer-term stays up to 28 days. We'll need to schedule cleaning service every two weeks.
There's free street parking.
For background, a "Creole Cottage" is a specific historic architectural style, and this one has a traditional "shotgun style" floor plan. Search for more information on it.
