The Space:
Motorworks offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort, just five minutes from the Central Business District. A recently renovated space featuring 20' ceilings, original wood floors, and fully restored windows that fill the space with natural light. Guests can enjoy access to a rooftop retreat with sun loungers, a summer kitchen, and outdoor dining, as well as an on-site gym for daily workouts.

There is metered street parking available along Howard Avenue for $3 per hour, Monday through Saturday and free on Sundays.

All properties are furnished to a uniform standard; however, individual units may differ slightly from those shown in the photo gallery, with variations in decor, layout, and size.

1. Check-in/Check-out Times: Check-in is after 4 PM, and check-out is before 11 AM. Late check-out results in a $500 fee.

2. Age Requirement: The individual making the reservation is considered the primary guest and must be at least 21 years old.

3. Guest Limitations: Only registered guests are allowed on the property. Unauthorized guests, parties, or events will result in fines and eviction.

4. Occupancy Rules: Each room has a standard and a maximum occupancy, which may differ. Any guests beyond the standard occupancy will incur an additional fee. The website will automatically apply this fee if your booking exceeds the standard occupancy. For more details, feel free to contact us.

Long weekend family getaway

Location was great...many small things that at first you overlook but when viewed in totality it got frustrating.Windows are probably 50 years old and are paper thin and dont shut completely. Be prepared for excessive noise. Ice machine was completely jammed and when we initially tried to use it there was loud grinding sound. We had to take it out...get all the ice out so it could function.Shower in main bathroom did not drain well. Within seconds you are standing in a pool of dirty water.Ceiling in main bathroom clearly had some repairs done but it wasnt finished or covered up.TV in main bedroom did not function at all. Clearly broken.Remote in 2nd bedroom did not work.

We picked this property to be a short walk away from the hotel where our friend was getting married. The day we checked in, we received instructions for a different property at a completely different address much further away so we could not walk. The property we were supposed to stay in had 3 large beds (all queens or kings), access to amenities at the nearby sister property - pool, gym, etc. but the property we actually stayed at had none of these perks and the beds were not the same - one couple had to sleep in a room with two twin trundle beds and another couple had to sleep in a double bed with 2 large dogs. The new property had no windows in the main living area while the one we picked had a lot of natural light. We also found it odd that the property didn't have any ceiling fans which was an issue in one bedroom where the air did not seem to work well. The property also did not have a microwave which made meals difficult. Further, the only outlets for charging your phone while you sleep were behind the bed so we had to move the bed to plug in. It is extremely frustrating to book something months in advance and pay a significant amount then not get what you paid for - we had an entirely different experience than we expected when we booked.

Overall, a good spot in a fun city

The apartment was quite large a very comfortable for the five of us. It’s pretty much in the middle between the French Quarter and the Garden District. A 20 minute walk or a cheap uber ride gets you anywhere. It’s within 5 minutes from the Civil War and WW II museums.

Very cool spot

The Unit was very clean and had tons of natural light. Nice layout and finish out. A couple of minor wear and tear items, but all in all very happy with the unit. The neighborhood is just a little off of the main spots so it's quieter at night and not as hectic as something closer to the quarter would be. Short walk to a grocery store, good wine store, WWII museum and some great restaurants. Very close to trolley stop. All in all just a nice experience and no headaches. Highly automated check-in/out which was great for us as well.

Generally, the property is as billed. We had an issue with checkin in that our 3 room suite had not been serviced since the last guests. It was very dirty. The number posted in the suite for issues went to voicemail. 10 times. No one called us back. I wandered over to another building. There was no attendant but there was a different phone number. I called an no answer. I texted and eventually someone texted back and eventually we solved the issue by moving us to a different suite. The other suite was clean and functional except one toilet didn’t work (chain off handle). There was a bit of confusion over the entry code also. My unique code did not work. After all this, I would stay there again based on the assumption that our suite would be clean upon arrival, but it was disappointing as I was hosting two 80 year olds for a weekend birthday celebration. Suggestions - manage housekeeping better, and update the phone numbers posted in the suite for problems.

Place needs work

Good location and nice property at 1st glance. However, we arrived at 4:00 and property was still being cleaned. In fairness to cleaning person, it looked like the prior guests left the place a mess so maybe it took longer, but we were exhausted and wanted to check in. Instead, we headed out in the rain to wander and kill time. Bathroom ceiling had major water damage, blinds were a mess throughout unit, and there were no curtains or blackout shades so place was pretty bright at night from all bedrooms. My bed also had a stale cigarette smell. Location was accessible to French Quarter, grocery store, and restaurants.

My family of 7 enjoyed our stay at the Lola. The rooms were a welcome refuge in the evenings after walking around New Orleans all day. The beds were very soft and comfortable. The only issue we had is that we had originally reserved a different unit. We found out on our way driving into town, a few hours before check-in, that the unit we had reserved was no longer available as it needed “maintenance”. Sextant at first tried to put us in a smaller unit with less beds than we had reserved, claiming it had the same number of “bedrooms”. However, after checking the listing description, they eventually agreed with us and fixed it and put us in a unit with the number of beds that we reserved. We were very happy with where we ended up and had a wonderful stay.

The place itself was perfect

This was the perfect place for our family visit to New Orleans. It was within walking distance of the museum district and very close to the Garden District and the French Quarter. We loved that we could visit the French Quarter and all the festivities, but return to our street without the crowds. Our family has members that are Vegan and there were plenty of close dining options that offered choices for all of us on the same menu. The place itself was perfect with a super convenient parking garage and the condo was very hip and urban with plenty of space our family to spread out in. We would certainly stay here again.

This place is a dream. It's comfortable, modern and in the ideal location. There's a trolly stop just steps outside so if you want to go uptown it's easy! It's a ten minute walk to the water or the quarter... everything is right there. Plus there's a grocery store just a couple blocks away. The only caveat is that it can be a little loud with street noise, but we anticipated that so it didn't bother us. If you're a light sleeper, bring some headphones or earplugs, and you won't know any different. We absolutely loved staying here and can't wait to come back!

We were able to book on very short notice

Very satisfied with the responsiveness of this host and the property itself. We were able to book on very short notice and the host provided us with a unit in a very timely manner. The stay was very secure, amenities were wonderful, and the place was clean, modern, and had its own washer and dryer which was really nice. There was broken blinds and a leaky window in one room, but because we weren't on the ground floor, we were not as concerned and the host was immediately responsive to this. The location is very ideal and not far removed from points of interest including the WWII museum, French Quarter, and other restaurants/bars. Neighborhood was drastically improved from our original stay and I would certainly book through Sextant Stays the next time I'm in New Orleans.

Conveniently located by many amazing restaurants

This place has 5 stars across the board for my friends and I. It was 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We ended up using Uber to get many places however, that was our choice because of the weather. It is still conveniently located by many amazing restaurants and the street car is right up the street. The apartment was perfect! Adequately stocked with utensils and supplies. It was clean, very comfortable and spacious. The staff was so understanding and very accommodating. All four of our flights got canceled on the day we were supposed to leave and the Sextant staff answered immediately when I messaged them and was able to set us up with another night. So grateful for them and will definitely be using them again the next time I come to New Orleans. I don't have one complaint about my trip.

Please stay here if you like very cheap Uber's to Bourbon, Frenchmen, or if you dont mind walking 20 minutes. This location had very polished finishes along with an amazing rooftop view to enjoy yoga, coffee, reading and more. The unit was perfect for the six people that stayed here over the weekend we had enough space to be comfortable. Odd note is that there are plenty of outlets in this unit so you're never without a place to charge your phone, computer or hooking up your Sonos speaker like I did. It is very easy to access the unit. we ordered a lot of groceries Uber eats and drivers found this location very easily. Another item is that there is street parking that is pretty available if you're staying on a weekend because it is right outside the central business district. I would stay again.
