A beautiful farmhouse adventure. Great getaway while visiting family in Rhode Island for a family reunion. Well stocked and well supplied to include fresh chicken eggs. Eggs were delicious, almost let me forgive the rooster for waking me up at 5 AM. Talked to the host several times. Very affable man. In total, it was a very relaxing comfortable stay. Definitely recommended.
Everything was great nice home and the owner was very friendly he does live on the property but we only seen him 2 times a day he puts the chickens in and out of the coop very quiet piece of the world
This home was so clean and spacious, but very cozy. Our family of six had a wonderful time spending Christmas with family that live close by. We had the best sleep in the comfy beds.Highly recommend this property.
Spacious house and very nicely decorated! Easy and great communication with owner. The chickens in the yard add a lot of character. A bunch of nice restaurants within 10-15 minutes drive.
Very spacious home with a family farm feel. Our family stayed a weekend in October to attend a wedding at a nearby venue. The home had a stocked kitchen, and slept our family comfortably. Family room was a great gathering space, and yard offered a spot to relax in the autumn air. Ken, the owner was a gracious host and gave us great information, A+.
I went with 4 high school friends ( high school more than 50 year’s ago) and we really enjoyed everything about Ken’s place. Plenty of room fir the 5 of us. The best part was the living room where we could all talk- comfortable and cozy.
We will be back ~~Betty

Betty and her friends were wonderful guests and I'm very happy that they had a nice stay. The took great care of my home and left it in immaculate condition. Betty and her friends and family are always welcome here and any host would be lucky to have them as guests. Ken
We had a great stay at Ken’s property. We were in the area for a larger family event, and it was a perfect place for my family of 5 (2 parents, 2 adult children, and one teen) to stay. We had fresh eggs from his chickens each morning! The house had everything we needed, and we loved that his very friendly dog would sometimes great us as we pulled up in the car. Check in/out was easy. The house is very close to the main roads and highway, so getting around is quick and easy.
We used Ken's home since it was close to where our sons wedding was being held in Canterbury. It was great. We were able to host a few of the other guests, and it was a great location for the Groom and groomsmen to gather and wait on the wedding day prior to heading back to the venue for the ceremony. Ken was very helpful in providing recommendations for local eateries while we were in the area. I would highly recommend this host and home whenever in this area of CT.
We loved our stay at Ken's farm! The property was conveniently located near stores and restaurants. The house is warm and welcoming, with plenty of room.for everyone. We especially enjoyed the living room, with lots of comfy couches and a nice big central fireplace. The beds were all comfortable and we enjoyed waking up to the sound of chivkens in the yard. Ken's dog Keeva was a bonus - she is so sweet and friendly! Thank you for the beautiful home base!
The property is a charming vintage farm house, with a newly remodeled kitchen. Ken the host is very nice and showed us around. I was impressed with many artistic vintage furniture and artwork he arranged in each room. The living room is huge, and the master suite is very roomy as well. There are extra sofa bed in addition to the 4 rooms, so it is perfect for family reunion.
There is a very friendly dog and many chickens. The surrounding is countryside and we took some nice family photos. It is a relaxed place and I highly recommend it.
It was perfect for our large group. There were plenty of sleeping areas and several places to gather as a group. The children loved feeding the chickens and collecting eggs in the morning. The teens had their own space to watch television and read. The adults could gather at the other end of the house to visit and have some laughs away from the kids. It was the perfect setup. The owner, Ken, was welcoming and responsive. It was a great experience.
We had 3 couples stay in Ken's home for a Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Regional meeting. Ken and his dog met us at the house, went over everything with us, and left his cell number. He does stay on the property if you need anything. It was so nice not having to bring anything with us, as everything was included. The house is cozy and it was very easy for us all to relax. The area is rural-take a walk to see deer, chipmunks and other wildlife. We went in summer but would love to come back in the winter. Thank you Ken!
Ken and his dog Kieva (such a good dog) were there to greet us when we arrived. He showed us around and answered all questions. He lives on the premises and was very friendly. The house had everything we needed for our stay. Two bedrooms have AC and the rest have ceiling fans which kept the house comfortable. There are roosters and chickens outside as well and we had fresh eggs for breakfast. Our dog loved running in the corral and Kieva was so friendly to her.
The Host was very accommodating. It is an older home that does have a stone walk and steps to enter which could be challenging to some with mobility issues. The weekend in June that we went was very warm, the house does not have central air but does have window A/c’s in the bedrooms, which the host made sure to put in for us. There were improvements being done on the home on the outside. You can see the hard work the owner has put into the property which was lovely. The host had fresh eggs for us. There are roosters on the property that do make noise, the homeowner has sound machines in the bedrooms if needed. This property worked well for my group of 6. It is a charming older farmhouse that has a-lot in it.
This farm home was perfect for our family celebration of an 80th birthday, 60th wedding anniversary and 30th birthday. Home was spotless, spacious, well stocked and located in a peaceful setting. Bonus was the adorable puppy kiva to greet us and the flock of chickens and their delicious eggs. Ken was a very accommodating host.
Ken was a great host! He was very accommodating. He made a list of restaurants near by and even found a salon for my mother to get her hair done.

About the host
Hosted by Kenneth Enright
Hi my name is Ken and I'm the owner of this beautiful property. I came to find this place through an arduous journey that included a painful divorce after 28 years of marriage and losing the home that I owned and loved for 25 years. I stumbled across this place while searching for a house for my oldest son who was also looking to buy. I fell in love with this place as soon as a saw it and at the age of 63 I'm the proud owner of a beautiful 4 acre farm. It's been christened "A FOOLS FOLLY FARM" because it's a crazy thing to do at this age! So now I have a great dog and a chicken coop full of egg laying hens. It's an amazing place where friends and family laugh and always have a good time. I'm joining VRBO to supplement my retirement income and also to meet and share this wonderful place with people I don't know. It's a new beginning for me, and the start of an adventure, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it will take me.
Why they chose this property
I call the farm "My little slice of heaven on earth". It's a happy place that's full of family and friends having good times and making memories. I wake up each morning to the mist obscuring my back fields and watch the sun burn it off, exposing the emerald green grass and flowering trees on and next door to my property. My dog is joyfully running though the yard and fields, the chickens are clucking and laying eggs, my dumb rooster is cock-a-doddle-doing, birds are chirping, and the peace, quiet and solitude make me realize that this is"My happy place" and I'm an extremely fortunate man.
What makes this property unique
It's a unique styled home decorated with fun in mind. There is plenty of room, yet it feels very homey. The Great Room is amazing, a light filled space graced with many windows and it's center piece is a massive palladian window which overlooks the horse corral. The huge open room features a large fireplace and an abundance of comfortable seating .The dining room is the oldest part of the house and has beautiful pine plank flooring, beautiful brick and granite stone work and a lovely fireplace inserted wood stove. The kitchen has been recently remodeled and has nice modern white cabinets,a farmer's sink, and all modern appliances. The master bedroom and bathroom are both huge. The bedroom also has a cathedral ceiling that is amazing. The master bath is larger than most living rooms and has a beautiful soaking tub in addition to the shower. There are many sleeping options that include the master, the four poster with beautiful refinished plank flooring, the open bedroom which includes a desk, futon, and recliner in addition to the queen bed, and a basic bedroom with a queen bed. The property has two horse barns and a corral. There is a fire pit and also an outdoor stone fireplace that you can enjoy. There is plenty of sun and shade to enjoy. We're surrounded by open fields and are on a quiet road with one house across the street. It is lightly trafficked but you will see neighbors walking their dogs, jogging, and biking on by.
