About this property
The Pink Cottage Upstairs Suite and Secret Garden... beautiful walks & sea view.
The boutique upstairs suite of The Pink Cottage is tranquil and cosy with a traditional vintage interior style that's just intriguing.
We aim to make each guest feel completely pampered.
It has breath-taking sea views and a private secluded and sheltered Secret Garden to unwind in!
The Pink Cottage is situated on a stunning rural headland walk that leads to Blackhead Lighthouse & a coastal path which meanders along to the Victorian town of Whitehead in Northern Ireland.
Ideal for guests who want to journey along the rugged Causeway Coast, with the spectacular Gobbins Cliff Path and its suspension bridges 5mins away.
Other treats on this magnificent coast worth exploring include the UNESCO world heritage site of the Giant’s Causeway, a staircase-like geological feature, also Game of Thrones film locations, rope bridges, fishing villages all on this coastal drive straight from our pink front door!
A few minutes walk along our lane is an 18 hole golf course, Whitehead Golf Club, where guests are made very welcome if they wish to play or just use the restaurant.
Or, if you simply want to relax, unwind and rejuvenate... its perfect.
The original part of the cottage was built around 400 years ago, so we are told. It has lots of original charm, in particular the head height....some doorways are a little small, so mind your head!

About the host
Hosted by Heather Craig
My husband David and I host The Pink Cottage and love sharing our peaceful little part of the world with guests for a perfect weekend away, or perhaps a week! We have amazing sea views and a there's even a little south facing Secret Garden where the only sounds are birds and sea.
I am an interior designer and renovated my little pink cottage during the 2021 lockdown. I designed the entire space, picked a calming colour scheme and chose an interior style in keeping and to compliment the fabric of the very old stone building.
I also wanted to make sure it offered guests a very high level of comfort too, so I was especially particular when working on the bedroom and the bathroom design, and everything in-between.
In any bedroom, the bed is always something I'm a little fussy about, so I made sure to choose a king bed and a super sumptuous memory mattress. Another very important must-have of mine is a blackout blind on the window to avoid premature early morning awakenings!
The bathroom was totally refurbished to feature a beautiful roll-top bath and underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty.
And I just couldn't resist painting the bath pink!
To be kind to the planet all of the furniture was bought from vintage shops or individuals selling antique items. I painted one or two pieces as I love a bit up up-cycling!
Even the garden furniture came from my own home after I re-designed our living room. The two chairs are the comfiest outdoor chairs you'll ever sit in - a living room experience outside!
We usually work from home using the two downstairs rooms as our separate home offices, the green doors marked 'private'.
Your accommodation is the entire upstairs suite, which is totally private and separate with your own secure lockable entrance door within the cottage hallway.
We look forward to welcoming you for that perfect weekend away, or longer, to our boutique Pink Cottage
Why they chose this property
We moved into our house twenty years ago and it came with a little cottage in the grounds of our property. After our boys left the nest and went to university in England, I had time to renovate and design the interior of it.
We are situated on the most stunning seaside walk that has a lighthouse a few minutes from our home and the cottage.
The original part of the cottage was built around 400 years ago, so we are told. It has lots of original charm, in particular the head height....some doorways are a little small, so mind your head!
It's now been a holiday let for a year and the reviews we are getting are really very good. Here's one from a lovely guest from Belgium who stayed in August 2022...
"As a child I was told that there's this place called Heaven, where you get rice pudding with as much brown sugar as you'd like on top and golden spoons to eat it with.
How little did I know that this sweet Heaven, the garden of Eden included, does already exist, here and now, on our planet Earth, and that you don't have to die first to be allowed in.
This little paradise is The Pink Cottage. It's pink and cosy and warm and comfortable. It's a place to relax and to start from on your walking tours along the rocky paths and the coastline.
It's where you go back to in the late afternoon, just to sit down at the small wooden table, writing postcards or reading a book in the company of a glass of red wine.
If you sit at the window and close your eyes, you can still see the Titanic passing by towards its disastrous end.
It has the French Press, the teapot, the romantic plates and cups bordered with a line of gold, the vases with flowers on the windowsill, the blankets for the cold, the different types of tea, the muesli, the oatmeal and the homemade jam, the pink bathtub and the fragrant lotions.
It has. It has. It has.
And it has Heather and David, the most lovely hosts I ever met. The Pink Cottage has it all! Thank you so much! " - Elly Colin from Belgium
