Wonderful location, great place, and just perfect for a long weekend in the Humboldt area.
Host and owner are super responsive and friendly, and the café across the street is wonderful, too.
The place was a cozy little house with all the right amenities. It was close to the to Eureka and easy access to the highway 101. The house was clean and perfect for a family of 4
Adorable, clean, quiet cottage with everything we needed including for our kids. Lots of light and so conveniently located right outside of Arcata. We would stay here again no question.
The house was just as described and had everything we needed. Very convenient location for launching day hiking trips or grabbing things from town if necessary. Plus there’s a great cafe across the street. We were very pleased and would definitely stay here again.
It was perfect for my husband and I and my son and fiancee. We loved the coffee shop across the street. Felt very much at home. Location was great for us too while looking for property around Humboldt county.

The property is absolutely immaculate inside and out. The communication was very good and quick response to questions. So, so pleased we stopped there. Will book it again. Thanks, Stephen.
Amy has a little gem of a property. Very comfortable and close enough to walk to a grocery store, also a delightful coffee shop just across the road. My granddaughter had hours of fun playing in the expansive back yard, safe from traffic due to the surrounding hedges. This wonderful cottage will be calling us back when we visit our Cal Poly student again.
This two bedroom, one bath has a very new, clean feel to it. Central heating system for those chilly nights. Big TV. Full modern kitchen with a dishwasher. Also has propane outside grille (we did not use) and outdoor seating with a table to hang out in the yard.
The Host was reachable when needed and always responded promptly to our inquiries.
This will be our first choice for our next trip to Arcata.
Bonus - small restaurant across the street for breakfast and lunch.
As I read other reviews prior to booking - about being pleasantly surprised...I was too, and very happy with this choice! This area in Arcata has so much to offer, its the best kept secret on the Northern Coast. We stayed for my daughters graduation from Cal Poly Humboldt - just can't compare staying at a hotel. The beds were extremally comfortable, house is just adorable with a blend of old and new. Sunny and private, Amy was the perfect host and the Sunny Cottage exceeded our expectations! I'll definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area - you've got the beautiful rugged coast and Coastal Redwoods within a 10 -15 minute drive, hiking trails in the beautiful forests - can't get much better. Feels so magical! Not to mention the downtown area - so unique. Makes it hard to back to the Bay Area! Enjoy!!
The house is very cute and worked well for us. Very clean, too.
The only problem was the old gas stove/oven. I tried to cook a dinner for my family and we couldn’t get the oven to work at all. The burners are touchy and not easily adjusted. It’s cute and quaint but not functional.
Also, the queen bed mattress is very firm. Some may prefer this?
The hairdryer was missing and I spoke with property manager. One was delivered quickly.
Overall, would stay again if stove was upgraded, as we like to cook.
Great spot for a home base to get out and explore. Dinners over at The Plaza in Arcata or nearby in Trinidad or Old Town Eureka. Hiking the Fern Canyon Loop and exploring in the massive redwoods makes one feel like they’re in the Land of Make Believe!
Truly a magical place, one with such good energy and even better people!
Thank you so much!

Very nice place in a good location. We drove up from Central CA to visit family and enjoyed every minute. Place was clean and very accomodating, I would definitely recommend if visiting the area
We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty of this home! All necessities provided, and then some! Lots of family and kid games were an added bonus. Would absolutely recommend staying here!
House is much nicer than what was pictured! Pleasantly surprised!
