I have stayed in a few VRBO homes that I have booked myself or with friends and I have never felt more worried about being in a home than this one. The list of rules and fines was interesting, the two cameras at the front door and the one at the back door had all of us weirded out. The whole point of staying in a VRBO was to be able to enjoy our kids baseball games and then eat meals that we had planned to make in the home. The oven didn’t work, when I made a breakfast casserole Friday morning I thought I didn’t leave in the oven long enough, but then that evening when I put a large pan of lasagna in for well over an hour it didn’t cook! I was planning on feeding 11 people! We ended up spending money on pizza! I was told that I would get reimbursed for it, but have not heard from the owners The fridge filter light was on meaning it needed to be replaced, so to compensate for that there was a pitcher with a water filter in it in order to have ‘filtered’ water. What made me frustrated was that we as the guests were expected to be held to a certain standard with all of the rules, but yet the home was not clean, oven didn’t work, soap dispenser in master bath was empty (I wasn’t comfortable snooping around cabinets to find soaps with feeling like I was being watched), one of the bedroom beds had a hard mattress. I did contact the owner about the oven and was asked if I tried messing with settings and was told that the stove was fairly new, which was surprising because it was dirty inside like stuff had spilled over. The grill we used to grill burgers still had food in it from it possibly being used before us and the tank was empty. I have never been so disappointed staying in a home and more embarrassed that I had booked this property for our four families. I do hope to get at least get a refund from one of my meals.

We're extremely sad that this guest had such a long list of issues when we take the care of guests very seriously and do not feel this review at all reflects our hosting. All of our cameras are clearly disclosed in our house rules and pointed out prior to check in. The guest said they read all of our rules and agreed to them. We use these cameras occasionally to verify check in and check out and for our cleaners and occasionally for security purposes. There are only cameras at the front and back doors that point away from the house, and are pretty standard for short term rentals these days. Immediately after check in, they tampered with an expensive piece of security equipment. Shortly after check in they mentioned one of the soap dispensers were empty which we promptly offered to come fill. When we arrived all soap dispensers were full, we were unclear what the guests issue was really about. When the guest mentioned they were having trouble with the oven the next day we offered multiple times to come check the oven or send out a repair person and were never given permission to do so (we try not to get in people's space if they don't want us to be). After check out we tested the oven and found it to work perfectly, we documented as much with photos. Guest never said a word about the grill or the gas being an issue until reading this review (there is also an extra tank that can be used to grill on the fire pit). A grill brush and tools are provided to all guests. If you read this review and it deters you, please read our other glowing reviews and reach out if you have any questions.
