Lovely spot outside of town, beautiful porch facing the Eiger, well appointed kitchen, very clean, very communicative hosts. A great home base a quick (and reliable) bus ride from downtown Grindelwald with walkable access to nearby hiking.
Excellent place to stay in Grindelwald, just out of the main village (so quiet), and with epic views of the Eiger. Well-equipped, loads of space, great wifi, and Stefan the host is very helpful. Would love to stay again.
Good location, ideal for access to mountains and Grindlewald itself, with access to walks literally from the doorstep. Stunning views from the property too. Made for an excellent base for a week alkingand exploring the area.
This place is incredible. From the living room to the bathroom( yes) you will have an amazing view. The spot is super comfortable and was beyond enjoyable to stay in.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment and particularly loved sitting out on the veranda enjoying the spectacular views over the valley. The apartment was very clean and extremely well equipped for a self catering holiday. There are many steps to get up to the apartment although it didn’t cause a problem for us it may be something to consider for others. It’s a 4 minute walk to the bus stop and straight into Grindelwald to enjoy everything on offer in the town and on to the cable cars and train station. We absolutely loved our stay in Grindelwald and hope to go back one day.
This place is absolutely fabulous and peaceful. It has gorgeous views (better than the pictures). The beds were comfortable. It was clean and well stocked. It was walkable and also an easy bus ride to town. Our family had a great time. I was very happy with this booking and would like to stay here again.
It rained on two out of the five days of our stay, but the host thoughtfully provided a dehumidifier, which kept the house very comfortable. The house and bedding were spotless, and everything we needed was well prepared. It was perfectly spacious for five people, and we felt happy every day enjoying the beautiful view. The host was kind and considerate. Thank you! The only downside was that there were many stairs, and it was quite challenging to carry two 30kg suitcases.
We feel very lucky to have found this rental for our five night stay in Grindelwald. The apartment had the most glorious view of the mountains, was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, had plenty of maps to plan our visit to the area, had a great selection of kids/family games, offered ample blankets and pillows, comfortable seating both inside and on the deck. The apartment was as described and the check in/out was seamless. What a gem! Stefan was responsive and offered support when needed. A lot of steps but so worth it!
Very clean apartment with an amazing view off the deck of the surrounding mountains. This is a top rate vrbo. We really enjoyed our stay in Grindelwald. The kitchen is well stocked. There was great communication with the property owner. 5 stars all the way around!

Thank you so much for your kind words, we appreciate this very much!
The property is well equipped and has two double bedrooms. It is a good option for two couples traveling together. The patio has magnificent views facing the Eiger, the Schreckhorn and the Männlichen Plateau. There is free parking and th apartment is approximately 100 steps above the parking area.
Property owners communicated clearly and regularly. Clean property. Breathtaking view from deck. Easy bus down to central Grindelwald.
*Note you will need to climb nearly 100 stairs to reach the property.
Comfortable and nicely kept property. It is quite a way from the center of town. Free parking, so if you have a car, that's perfect. If you are taking the bus, get the schedule ahead of time (they run regularly, but with gaps between) or walk! But it's a decent way. I think it's worth the walk! This is my second time staying here!
We absolutely loved this apartment. It feels like being a part of the Swiss community and not like a tourist. Stefan and Barbara have provided everything you could need. We had our 16 and 14 year old children with us and we had more than enough room. Everyone loved the beds and shower. We cooked some nights and the kitchen was very well stocked. We loved the walk back home each night. It is a fairly uphill walk, but we preferred the fresh air and beautiful views to the bus. We sat on the patio each night just staring at the mountains. The shops, train station, and restaurants in the center of the village of Grindelwald is about a 30 minute walk from the apartment, which we enjoyed walking each morning and night. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hi Amie, what a great heartwarming comment you wrote. We welcome you any time again!
Couldn't be happier! If you want all that Grindelwald has to offer without the tourist-mobbed circus of "downtown", I can't recommend this apartment enough. Great, open living space. Amazing deck, with a retractable awning, to enjoy the extraordinary view, rain or shine. Perfectly quiet to enjoy the birds chirping and the cow bells clanking. A quick couple minutes by the free bus to get into town. Comfortable beds. Fully stocked kitchen/et al: Unlike many other places we've stayed, this one provided ample supplies (towels, toilet paper, paper towels, foil, plastic wrap, garbage bags, dishwasher pods, even coffee maker pods!). Hosts are responsive and caring. Thank you Stefan for letting us stay in your home!
The stay was good. The views and convenience for location and price point can’t be beat. Waking up every morning to that view was wonderful. But there are things you should know. 93 stairs to climb from the parking lot. No microwave. No air conditioning ( not really an issue that week). Shared laundry. The whole apartment is off level enough that you notice it. The beds are not very comfortable. The kitchen fan vents into the apartment. So the apartment smells spicy when you walk in. We were able to air the place out quickly because it was summer. Lovely big windows that open wide. But we had to do so every time we returned to the apartment. The hosts responded quickly to all questions. So, it’s a good place to stay, especially for the price point. But there are things that keep me from saying Excellent.
The area is great just outside the touristy centre of Grindelwald. We were the only people staying in the building, so it was really quit...which we like. ;) Lovely views of the mountains!
When we arrived there was a stale air/ smell in the appartment; maybe because it was completely closed for a while and it was pretty damp. We've opened all windows, but without insect screens it would allow all bugs to come inside.
The smell went away in most areas of the appartment, so it was fine for us....maybe that's just normal for the altitude Grindelwald is in.
Everything we needed was there....and more. There are games, books, Netflix/Prime app on the tv.
The beds are comfortable...the pillows not so much. But we brought our own pillows anyway.

Thank you Jeanette for your comprehensive and overall very positive response. We are sorry, that you had some stale air/smell in the appartment in the beginning. It can happen, when the weather changes from cold to warm - especially in early summer. We will also check if we could change the pillows or add some smaller ones.
