Close to every area we wanted to hit. Clean and welcoming. Had all amenities we needed. Plan on making it an annual spot for our family. Playpen very helpful and appreciated!
We had a great time. The area is beautiful; there was a great view in all directions. Perfect place to stay for a golf trip. The house itself is incredible for a weekend getaway. We wish we would have been able to stay longer!
We spent our time at Cuchara Park and this home was the perfect location for us. The Host goes above and beyond here. I highly recommend this place - I will still hear next time we come through La Veta. The house has everything you need! Perfect for a man like me who loves chopping wood and having fires. The inside had a big kitchen for the wives. The rooms have tons of board games for the kids. You will love this place; I know we did.
My friends and I stayed two nights and golfed at Grandote which was only a few blocks away. It served us well as we each had our own room and shared two bathrooms. The common area around the kitchen worked out well to cook and eat our meals. We also took advantage of the gas grill to barbecue one night. The back patio area provided some privacy that we shared with a few visiting deers. We would definitely stay there in the future. The cost was also reasonable.
The house was just as described, and so inviting, clean, and comfortable. It is spacious, with comfortable furnishings, and in a great location for the Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival which we were attending. We enjoyed our time in La Veta so much and it was made better because we had such a nice place to go home to at the end of the day.
We were given a heads up that the front door could be temperamental, and we found it very difficult to open and close securely, but I know that management is aware and will probably have that repaired.
We hope to return in the future. This is a great place to stay!
Being able to spread out was great, even though there were just two of us. Three of the four bedrooms were very large and nicely equipped. WIFI worked well. Was very nice to have the second bathroom. Deer through the yard most days. Good location right in town. Enjoyed sitting on the back patio. La Veta and surrounding areas were much prettier than we anticipated! Two very minor thoughts: The door next to the garage was difficult to maneuver with the lock, plus the screen door added a bit of an element of hassle/danger when trying to stand on the small porch and carry in suitcases while holding the screen door. Might want to consider losing the screen door altogether. Washcloths would be a nice addition to the towel sets. The checkout list was very long and involved turning off propane. We finally figured out you probably meant propane to gas grills rather than the huge propane tank ???
Perfect property for everything we needed. Nice, large covered front porch and covered back patio with picnic table and rocking chairs. Deer came through the front yard both evenings. Very clean. Lots of beds.
This property was everything the description claimed, except that there was no working TV (not a big deal, we didn't have time for TV). The upstairs rooms are great for kids. Plenty of space to spread out between two sizable living rooms and large dining room. Kitchen has just about everything you could need to cook and store food. Location is nice, two blocks off main road so no traffic noise but still very easy to walk to Charlie's, coffee shop, etc. We would stay here again.
The property was super spacious with a great backyard. It was nice to be so close to the National Park, as well as other nearby hiking spots. The check in process was extremely easy and straight forward. Overall a great property to stay at!
This place was a hidden gem. The scenery, surrounding areas, and the home were top notch. Honestly, based on some of the pictures we were not sure of the size of the space and whether it would fit our needs. Upon arrival our expectations were blown away.
Communication with the host was quick and easy. Clean up prior to leaving was also a breeze with nothing out of the ordinary.
10/10 would stay again.
