OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

MOUNTAIN ROADS: Cabin is located on the mountainside and like most cabins in the Smokies that have stunning mountain views, there are a few inclines and declines through the neighborhood. We recommend arriving in the daytime as roads are dark at night. We highly recommend using vehicles that are 4WD/AWD and have chains on tires during inclement weather conditions. With a couple trips to and from the cabin, you can easily master it and once you get there, the view is absolutely worth it!

DRIVEWAY: The driveway leads downhill and has a steep and narrow entrance that gradually levels off near cabin and can only accommodate 2 cars to allow room for a 3-point turn.

WELL WATER: Water supply is solely from a private well and is safe to drink but we suggest bringing bottled water. Please be aware that during certain, unspecific times of the year, the well can yield less water than usual and could appear brownish when you first turn on the faucet. This is normal and clears up quickly and does not affect the quality of the water. Please practice water conservation to avoid loss of water.

- Timing of water usage is essential because high usage will deplete the well before it can replenish. The washing machine and filling up the bath tubs are the most detrimental to the well supply and use of these items should only take place during times when water use through the rest of the cabin is minimal. After use of these items, the well will need to be replenished so please allow adequate time before heavy water use.

BUGS AND WILDLIFE ANIMALS: The cabin is in the woods so wildlife and bugs are to be expected. Although we have a pest control service that sprays monthly, you may still see bugs both inside and outside. Make sure to leave windows and doors closed behind you. We have provided brooms and a vacuum in case you want to use them. You may see bees, squirrels, raccoons, bears, turkeys, snakes, scorpions and other wild animals during your visit and may hear some critters come out to play at night. Take caution and watch your step!

BEARS: Bears may be present and visit the area occasionally. Bears look cute but they are dangerous. If you see a bear, stay away from them and DO NOT FEED the bears. Keep all doors locked and windows closed and do not leave food/drinks outside.

WEATHER: No refunds for inclement weather or natural disasters. Please plan accordingly including being prepared with food and water and utilizing AWD/4WD vehicles. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

SECURITY DEVICE: We have one camera on front porch facing the driveway that records video and audio for monitoring the area since we are secluded. No interior views.

Great cabin in a beautiful location!

We had a wonderful time staying in Cabin Fever! The cabin was very clean, had everything we needed, and was in a beautiful location. We appreciated how accessible the owners were to answers all of our questions prior to our visit. We also appreciated the information they sent us about the popular hiking trails in the area, it was very helpful! I will be recommending this cabin to anyone who is taking a trip to the Smokies. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful retreat

Steve is the perfect host! His description and photos are spot on and he is super responsive. We truly enjoyed our stay at Cabin Fever. The views of the mountains, changing leaf colors and sunsets are amazing from the cabin’s back porch. The cabin was immaculately clean and had everything we needed and more.

Great stay

We had a great stay! The only issue we encountered was the driveway entrance/ exit to the cabin. We were very thankful it did not snow or ice, or our vehicle may not have made it out. As you exit the driveway it is completely blind up a hill and you have to really gun it. Next time we will just bring our off roading vehicle!

Quiet Getaway

I surprised my wife with a long Valentine weekend getaway with no kids. Cabin Fever was perfect with plenty to do at the cabin and close enough to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smokey Mountains for activities and food. At the cabin we relaxed in the hot tub, enjoyed the fire pit, and I acted like a kid on the arcade. The weather allowed us to snow ski one day and then take a nice hike the next. The crowds were light and the trip was perfect. Cabin Fever owners were nice enough to leave starter packages for things we didn’t have or forgot, like my coffee. Be prepared for a roller coaster ride into the cabin!

Amazing vacation

This cabin is everything I wanted and then some! The view is just absolutely breathe taking! Pictures does no justice! The cabin is tucked in the woods so your have privacy! You just need to bring your clothes and food. This cabin has everything you need! I ended up bringing my 12 year old grandson with me at the last minute and for the raining days there's plenty of games in the cabin plus the pac man machine which has like alot of different games on it which brought back memories for me. LoL The cabin is very nice love all the decorations and bear stuff! Love it!! Hot tub was nice. The jet tub downstairs my grandson loved. Every evening we would turn on the fire pit and roast huge marshmallows. LoL would also eat at the table out on the porch the view was just amazing! Love love this cabin! The location is great 30 minutes or less to everything pigeon forge and Gatlinburg and wherever! Steve is absolutely great!! Answers back immediately helps with information!! I will definitely be coming back and renting this cabin again!! I'm a Florida native and I want to move to Tennessee now!! The mountains are just so beautiful!! 👍

The description doesn't do it justice!

This place was amazing! We spent Thanksgiving here with our daughter and one of her friends in college who lived too far for the break to go home. The property was incredibly clean and well furnished and the views from the back porch were amazing. Although it was Thanksgiving, the colors for the fall were still vibrant. Everything was very comfortable and the property owners were outstanding to work with! This has become our new favorite location in the Smokies!. !goes sown as on most

Great cabin!

We loved staying at Big Bear’s View. The view was really beautiful, especially the sunsets. It was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The huge TVs and games were a great touch and lots of fun. We had everything we needed while staying there. While there is a Murphy bed, it’s not ideal for 2 couples and best for one couple or small family. We didn’t see any bears, but we’re definitely looking for them! The scenery in the Wears Valley area was gorgeous. Everything about this place was as advertised and we would highly recommend it!

Amazing Place

My husband and I adored the Big Bear's View cabin. The photos represent it well and the space is very comfortable and cozy. We loved the remote location and spent as much time on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view as much as possible. The cabin has a great balance of feeling like you're far away from others but has great modern amenities. We enjoyed all the cabin had to offer; the hot tub, arcade game, fire pit and smart tv. The washer and dryer was also definitely helpful to have while vacationing. Yes, the driveway is QUITE steep - but we'd do it again in a heartbeat if we were to be back in the area! Thanks again!

Beautiful View

From the moment we arrived at the property the name said it all. An amazing view worth remembering. Access to the cabin was steep but that was expected since it is located in the mountains. Perfect for a small family to enjoy time together. The inside of the cabin was exactly what we wanted. Clean and very comfortable. Can’t wait to hopefully come stay again.

Absolutely Amazing!!

This cabin was exactly what me, my wife, and kids, needed to relax away from the hustle and bustle. The entire property was amazing and the description simply understated this gem. Clean, well furnished, quiet, awesome wrap-around porch, incredible views of the misty mountains, frequent bear visitations, night lighting, propane deck fireplace. Plenty of space for all of us to sleep and drape ourselves on the furniture inside and out. I think we saw 5 or 6 bears at different times including a mama and her cutie-pie cub. We arranged a few chairs on the porch to keep the bears from wandering up and surprising us as we played music and sang songs out there well into the evening enjoying the views. We got some very nice close-up pictures of the bears as they wandered around. The driveway was steep but a minor issue. Local shops and gas station were minutes away. Cell service was spotty so have your key code ready to open the door a few miles away and then hook up to the wifi when you are there. I was able to log into my work no problem to answer some pesky emails while I was there. We would go back in a heartbeat. We have not rented a cabin in the area before but I can't imagine there being another property out there that would beat this one. Many thanks for the wonderful experience!!!

Parents 50th Anniversary

My Brothers and I booked this cabin as a surprise gift for our parents 50th wedding anniversary. They had a fantastic time and had nothing but good things to say about the cabin and surrounding area. They are certain that they will rebook for future trips. The host, Sarah Lu, was great to work with as well. She responded to all of my messages quickly and was a pleasure to work with!
