This house is tucked away in the woods, just minutes to the town ans beach. You feel away from everything while still having all the conveniences nearby. The owners are awesome and very welcoming. A must stay in Crescent City!
A wonderful stay and experience at this lovely mid-century home with an amazing backyard to explore and relax. The house was immaculate, the rooms/beds were very comfortable and lots of places to lounge around with the family. Mica our host was super - communications were prompt, information readily available at the house and very responsive when we had a question. Couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy a family getaway. Thank you!!!

A few things to note:
Love this property but:
It does not "sleep 12", unless you add up all of the couches. There are 5 bedrooms all w queen or kings, pairing up w non-couples greatly reduces options. There is no microwave, rice cooker, non-stick pots/pans, or toaster in the kitchen, no soap(s) in the bath/shower, and no extra bedding. Very cool place all said.
We loved our stay in your home and can’t wait to come back again! The house had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfy. We loved that it had 2 king beds! Our kids loved the downstairs bedrooms, living area, and games. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed playing disc golf, making s’mores, and exploring the yard. We saw two elk in the yard! Amazing! The kids also loved the banana slugs. The location was perfect for visiting the beach and Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Definitely book this place!

The place is in a nice area, but could be better maintained. I don’t know how long it had been since the grass was mowed, and my grandson got lost in the weeds. Seriously it was up to his shoulders. Giving him bad allergies. The backyard was awesome, they have a fun frisbee golf, but needed to be mowed. The kitchen needs serious help, organized, and fixed. The drawer that hold your cooking tools falls out on you. Fair warning- NO MICROWAVE, so don’t plan on reheating leftover. Whole group not happy about that. You should also invest in non stick pans, the ones there stick really bad. If you advertise that the place can sleep 12, you should have at least 12 towels. We didn’t have 12 people, but some family had to shower with beach towels. Bath mats in the bathroom would be nice, and tissues in the bathroom would be nice also. The other thing that would be nice is a table cloth on the table, we tried washing the table off, and it turned my towel dark brown. Also kitchen wash cloths and towels would be nice also.
Our family gets together every few years just to let everyone spend quality time together. It's hard to find a home that sleeps a lot of people with plenty of yard to spread your wings. This one was just right. Private and not too close to the coast (better weather). Just minutes away by car. The yard was so big that we enjoyed frisbee, corn-hole and visiting around the fire pit. My grand-daughter set up a tent site for her family and enjoyed privacy and open air. The BBQ had an extra propane tank. We brought our own (didn't need it) because we've stayed at places where it runs out. The house was clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the cook ware you could ask for. Family rule ... everyone takes turns cooking and we all had what we needed. The stairs from the main floor are steep so bring a gate if you have littles. One of the rooms has childrens books and games. All the beds were comfortable! There are working fire places for winter visits. If you're not familiar with the coast, winter can be great. We would stay there again. The owners are easy to reach and were accomodating to our family needs.

There was a take out coffee cup left on the counter from cleaning lady I suppose, not really clean, wood on deck getting spongy, chairs in kitchen really cheap, and don’t trust the patio swing felt like it would fall apart if used. Poor plants inside was thirsty had to give them water. The worst part was lack of toilet paper towels and paper towels( needed to be stocked better) we flew in from Illinois and really didn’t see the need to have to buy “extra “ tp paper towels and had no dishwasher liquid available. For the price I feel those little things are easily worth stocking. Seems to me this place needs more tax than it gets.
This is a nice, spacious home with very comfortable beds. That being said, there were 5 adults and 2 kids and only 4 nice towels. There were a couple beach type towels in a closet that we had to make work. There are two small rooms downstairs with nowhere to put any clothes. Theres a chair in the corner, but no closet and no dresser. I found this to be very annoying. There is a laundry room with a toilet downstairs, and a huge tub/sink, but no hand towel, and no extras upstairs. Odd...In the kitchen, there is the bare minimum of pots and pans, no washcloths, and simple essentials. The couches are quite awful for comfort upstairs. The downstairs couch, where the TV is, is great, however. The steps from the landing to upstairs are VERY steep, so be aware. There was plenty of laundry detergent, which was very nice. We bought our own dryer sheets and left them. We also bought some washrags for the kitchen from the Walmart and left some for future renters. The home has a huge yard and is absolutely beautiful. Theres a firepit with wood, a nice BBQ we used and works well, and the furniture out there is great. We saw elk and deer both. The house is 10 minutes from a couple nice beaches and a 20 minute drive to Trees of Mystery, which is exactly what we were looking for.
The home was perfect for our large family with four grandkids who came to Crescent City for our daughter’s wedding which was not held at the rental but offered a place to get together for meals and to enjoy each other’s company. The kitchen was incredibly stocked with pans, utensils, and appliances well above the normal rental. It is a beautiful property and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there!
It was great! Great location, clean, good wifi, great appliances, and comfy furniture. Note each bathroom has just one roll of TP so if you think you'll go more you will have to get it from town, just 6 minutes away. The frisbee golf was fun. Lots of banana slug sightings which we loved. I'd stay here again
Light, airy and spacious! Perfect for our family of 7. Location to the Redwoods and the beaches was wonderful! We spent most of our time hiking in the woods and playing on the sand. Nice tidepools nearby.
This house is located in the perfect location. It's close to everywhere we went, beaches, Redwoods, Smith River, Trees of Mystery, Ocean World. We never had to drive longer than 25 minutes to get to out destinations, and most of the time things were within ten minutes. The house has lots of space. We had nine people and never felt crowded. My only two small complaints would be the lack of a microwave. You get use to having that convivence and when you can't heat up items quickly you miss a microwave. And I wish the yard was mowed before we came so we could have enjoyed the yard more. Despite these two small issues, I would stay here again.
My family and I loved this house. It was a great place for us to spend spring break because there were lots of things to go explore and do and also for those of us that needed to just rest, the house was a wonderful place for all of that
We enjoyed the house very much. This morning I did not want to leave because there were numerous Elk in the yard.
The upstairs is awesome!! The downstairs would be great for kids. The 2 bedrooms have very small windows and no storage. We feel that the nice couch downstairs should be upstairs where we hung out the most. Also, it would be nice if that sliding door had a screen for added air circulation. If you added a shower to downstairs bathroom, that would be fabulous .The house is in a great location close to town or Jed Smith Redwoods. We would stay in your house again. Very relaxing and peaceful location
The property was stunning. We enjoyed walking the property and my grandkids had lots of fun on the Frisbee court and running around the yard which was beautiful.
We enjoy the beaches that were easily accessible and fun to walk them. The grandkids enjoyed playing in the ocean and making sand castles.
This house was perfect for our gathering, lots of rooms and very comfortable.
Thank you so much for this great experience with my family.
Great place to stay. We loved how it was surrounded by trees and secluded, it was very peaceful. The location was great, perfect distance for visiting the forest, beach and river. We enjoyed our time here and would stay again!
The house was nice and had everything we needed. We especially like the location it was secluded but close to everything we needed. Close to the store close to the redwood parks, but we had our privacy. We would definitely stay again.
The house is quiet and has several things to do including disc gold. Communication with the owner was seemless and very easy. Beds were comfortable and we had a great time.
Fantastic house and Lot bordering a beautiful forest. Kids loved playing in the yard and looking for banana slugs. Short drive to empty beaches and conveniences in town. Beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and well equipped kitchen. We would stay here again.

Why they chose this property
We've lived in the northern most part of California for most of our lives and raised our children here. We wanted a place that was big enough for us and friends to spend time near nature and Crescent City being on the ocean and so close to our favorite river seemed a prime location. We've been told of the lovely family that built and grew up in our home and that makes the vibes in this lush, green sanctuary all the better!
What makes this property unique
This house has end of the road privacy and quiet with eight and a half acres to roam. The city center is less than five minutes driving time and you can be swimming in the Smith river in 20 min. Our house is clean and comfortable with mid century modern style and one of a kind hand crafted rugs. We care about cooking and have provided great kitchen tools for the gourmet in your party! We've done our best to provide comfort and style indoors and out so your stay feels like a lavish getaway.
