Beautiful Sunsets for Wedding Reception
We enjoyed our stay at the spacious Pacific Sunset House. It was definitely large enough for our group of 6 family members. The kitchen was well stocked. Quiet location and convenient to hwy 101. Loved that every bedroom had an Ocean view. Our grandson/son/brother Liam and his fiance Shea's married at Lone Ranch Beach and had their wedding reception at this house. Beautiful settings for both the beach wedding and the house's yard for the reception. The owner Rhonda was very willing to help with the planning for the Wedding reception. Only down fall is the ground is uneven in the yard. Thank you The Moore/Sheen Family

Can I give the owner 10 stars?
Well kept home, no carpeting, redone bathrooms and kitchen. Loved that there was a crockpot to use plus many other kitchen items. Dining table is huge, fit the whole family. Huge backyard, not completely fenced. Had a fire pit which was super fun for the family. Not a big deck but I loved that there were a ton of chairs so that everyone was able to pull up a chair around the fire pit. The one weird thing was the tv was in the room on the main floor with the bed. We didn’t use it, as I am sure most people don’t because you’re at the beach but might be useful information for someone. Master bedroom has a tv and one of the bedrooms upstairs has a deck to walk out on. Would I stay here again? Yes….yes I would. Thanks Rhonda!

When I first decided to rent my property as a vacation home in the summer, I imagined it to be a place where friends and families could come from different locations to share time together in a relaxed and comfortable home setting. So far, this home has exceeded my imagined expectations, and has become just what I had hoped, for your friends and family, as well as mine!

Why they chose this property

I accidentally found this amazingly beautiful property in 2019, and I instantly had a gut feeling to go see it, even though it was far away from where I lived in So. California. That gut feeling would not let up after two weeks, so I decided to make the trip to see it. When I arrived at the showing, I was enchanted by the crashing wave views of the Pacific Ocean, and I fell in love with the area, and the redwood trees, and even though it looked far worse than the photos showed on the inside, the exterior was solid, the roof was fairly new, and I knew I would not find another property on the California Coast, with this view, for the price it was offered. It was a bargain compared to the home prices in Southern California, and I felt like my opportunity to expand my horizons had been presented to me on a silver platter, by the universe itself, and I would be foolish to let it go. It was a complete wreck inside. The interior had never been completely finished when first built, with nothing but random floors and ill fitting doors mish-mashed together, but I had a vision of the beauty that it could become. I decided to go out on a limb, using all my resources, and against the advice of many, I scraped up what I had, and I purchased the home. I quickly realized that it would be a much bigger project than I had anticipated, and that I needed to be present at the property full time, to complete this major renovation. I drove back and forth frequently, for several months, and then at the end of 2019, after gutting all the icky things to make it habitable, my dog and I moved in, with nothing left but a powder room and a kitchen sink. Since I was working with limited resources, I had to carefully plan out my projects, and complete them, one room at a time, with the help of a few local professionals. It took two and a half years, a lot of hard work and perseverance, but I am very happy with my results! I hope you are too! Welcome to my Pacific Sunset House! Rhonda

What makes this property unique

This unique home is set on over an acre of property, with an unbelievable, and unobstructed, sunset view over the Pacific Ocean, with plenty of space to wander and explore. It is centrally located between Crescent City, California, and Brookings Oregon, where the Smith River meets the Pacific Ocean. There are old growth redwood groves within a few minutes drive of the property, and a beautiful Pacific beach extending from the Mouth of the Smith River to the Oregon Border, with easy parking, and access to The Beach at Smith River, just a 2 minute drive away. Activities in the area include fishing, and whitewater rafting on the Smith River, as well as many nearby hiking, and biking trails, to be enjoyed during your stay. The Smith River is known to be the 3rd cleanest river system in the world, has no dams, is home to world class salmon and steelhead fishing, and you can keep your catch! There are also whitewater rafting tours ranging from difficulty levels of class III to Class V, for the adventurous. As an added bonus, The Lucky 7 Casino and Hotel is within walking distance from the property, and offers a full service bar and restaurant, and games, with a gas station, mini mart, and liquor store right across the street. There are many great reasons to visit the beautiful Smith River area! The area has so much to offer. Come and explore!
