About this property
Charming Riverside Retreat
Historic cabin built in the 1920's. Dr. Fine, the county's only doctor, used the cabin as his fishing getaway. The fishing hole is located at the big bend, just below the fork of the North and Middle Forks of the Smith River.
Nestled among the old growth Douglas Firs, and a quiet beach with private access, this cozy cabin has it all!
In all directions, are views of the pristine Smith River and National Forest. Birds are abundant! We are visited by Osprey, Kingfishers and a resident Bald Eagle. The yard brings songbirds and various bird species that provide hours of fun for birders.

This place is stunning! Easy access to the river, a beautiful outdoor space for birdwatching, grilling, and relaxing, and a truly cozy and well appointed interior. We had everything we needed and then some — thanks for the eggs! I can’t recommend this place enough.
Wonderful location right on the Smith River. The owners have provided everything you would want. Beautiful out door patio overlooking the river.Easy access to the river. If we come back to the area we would stay here.
Stunning views and so peaceful! We want to come back as soon as possible. This was the most relaxing and cozy bnb we’ve stayed at. We fell in love with this little cabin.Very clean, our host was so kind and welcoming. The sounds of the forest and river at night is incredible.
Had an amazing time once again staying at this cabin. We knew the last time we stayed we wanted to come back to this cabin when we came up to get married and it made the trip even more magical.
The cabin was very clean and cozy. The kitchen had everything needed to cook some great meals. The best is extremely comfortable. The owner very thoughtful and all the linens are above average.
My mother and I spent 3 nights at the cabin. It was a wonderful place to come home to after exploring the Redwoods! Clean, cozy and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfy. Looking forward to coming back when it's warm out and you can swim in the river
It has everything you may need. With the windows open you can hear the river and it is so peaceful. The hosts are wonderful and this place is so worth every dime. It is close to explore the redwoods and the beaches. We had a great time.
This sweet cabin is magical….Sitting above the turquoise Smith River and minutes from the tallest trees on earth It’s a bit of paradise And the cabin is cozy, spotless and has everything you could think to make your stay comfortable.Big Thanks and we hope to be back !!!!
We had a wonderful stay. It was such a beautiful and quiet setting. When we were not in the Redwoods we spent a lot of our time sitting outside and watching the river flow. We were gifted fresh eggs, what a wonderful treat! All in all our stay was fabulous. We would stay here again if we get the opportunity.
We stayed at this precious cottage for our wedding and honeymoon! It was the perfect place for us. They had absolutely everything for a comfortable stay, (kitchen supplies, laundry things, bathroom essentials, fan, heater, extra bedding and pillows, plenty of towels). It was so clean and very cozy especially with the fireplace. We really enjoyed every aspect of this cabin and loved that it was right on the river. Honestly was so sad to have to part ways with it but we think we will be back at some point. Definitely worth it to stay here!
The property is peaceful, homey, and beautifully situated on the Smith River. Beautiful view of the river with river access. The cabin itself is well-appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! We loved all of the thoughtful details — extra blankets, nespresso machine with coffee and tea, a tea kettle, suncatchers, full hummingbird feeder, books and maps — all making it a wonderful place to spend time and recharge.
Incredible stay, can’t beat location! This is our second time staying at this VRBO and we hope to return again, great for kids, very clean, and met all our needs. Had so much fun skipping ricks in the river and hiking.
Amazing property, had everything I could need to have a nice stay. I enjoyed the outdoor areas with the grill and fire pit setup. We enjoyed relaxing out there with the river right next to us after a long day hiking in the Redwood forests
The cabin provided us with everything we needed, including a beautiful, peaceful setting. Our goal was fly fishing and this location along the Smith River was ideal. We highly recommend this cabin and will definitely be back someday soon.
Everything from the cabin, to the location was perfect. This place is one of those gems you don’t want to share because it’s that amazing. I would love to stay here again when my fiancé and I come back to the area next to year to elope. Thank you to the hosts for letting us stay at your beautiful cabin!
