The coytage was situated perfectly, very private. Everything we needed was provided. Even the toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, etc were top quality. Much better than what I’ve experienced at other vacation rentals. The Gasquet and Hiouchi Markets had the basics, we didn’t need to go into Crescent City for groceries. The Stout and Simpson Reed trails were stunning and perfect for beginners. Highly recommend kayaking in the estuary where the Smith River meets the Pacific. Seeing seals and bald eagles is priceless!
Outside of a hiccup with the check in key code not being sent this place was a fantastic stay. Our two other friends weren’t able to make it unfortunately but my husband and I LOVED every minute of our stay. Yes it’s a drive to places but honestly that’s the charm and part of getting away. While the TV was an option we had no desire for technology due to just enjoying our stay. Absolutely fabulous.
This place was very nice. The location was quiet and serene. We enjoyed walking in the little woods by the property and going down to the Smith River (about a 5 minute walk). There’s also a tiny old cemetery back there. The house was great and well-appointed. We cooked nearly every meal there during our stay. There were even beach towels, which came in handy. And the hot tub was much-appreciated at the end of the day.We were all very comfortable there. The owner was very responsive to any messages. I do recommend! I kind of doubt I’ll be back since it is a LONG way from our home (this was kind of a once in a lifetime road trip), but I ever do go back, I’d stay here again.Thank you!
Amazing location. Right near the Redwood National Forest. Destination Wedding. Jacuzzi was nice. Grill worked well for Brats and Burgers. I'd come back again for sure
Our family had a wonderful stay here. The house had all the comforts of home and is truly located in an ideal beautiful location. We enjoyed our many trips to the Redwoods, nearby beaches, and beautiful Smith river! Our host was very friendly and we had no issues with any aspect of our entire trip. It was perfect!
This is an absolutely magical place in the trees!! The house is entirely surrounded by the forest and offers supreme privacy and the opportunity to observe wildlife. The night sky was spectacular and we saw the Milky Way two nights. The house itself is very clean, modern, and has all the amenities. If you want a private retreat in the redwoods, this is the property for you!
The property was gorgeous, secluded and clean. It was easy to get to, and since the place was so clean you were able to relax immediately. The yard and hot tub were well maintained and it was so relaxing being able to sit on the porch and listen to the birds. It is so close to Jedidiah state park where we loved hiking. Would absolutely stay again!

Wonderfully situated property, forest all around, small creek in the backyard, bucolic as can be. Clean, comfy inside. Property owners were excellent to communicate and coordinate with. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at this home, it was cozy and clean and worked for our family. We really appreciated how close it was to the forks, at great spot for swimming.
Beautiful location very close to Smith River and Jedidiah Smith Redwoods sites. The cabin was everything we hoped for - clean, cozy and peaceful. Would recommend!
This home was perfect for a multi-night stay exploring the Northern Redwoods. The location is impeccable if you're looking for tranquility and easy access to the Smith River. The stream out front is so peaceful to listen to in the mornings while sitting on the porch having a cup of coffee. The hosts were very responsive and kind. This was the perfect place to unplug. We would absolutely stay again!

About the host
Hosted by Nancy Mirza
I have lived in Gasquet. The beauty is breathtaking and hiking among the old growth trees is one of the most special experiences of my life. I have lived in remote latin american countries doing nursing and am bilingual in Spanish. I remain comfortable in remote areas and am glad to share this place with others.
Why they chose this property
Trees and complete privacy with a creek and within walking distance to the Smith River create the most peaceful place I have ever lived. Natural azalea blooms on the edge of the creek and perfume the forest. There are many ferns throughout the property including the fern with five fronds.
