Our vision with this property was always clear and consistent as with all of my other properties. We wanted to combine all our favorite features from various Airbnb stays around the world under one roof. We hope that we have accomplished just that, and we are always grateful for any tips that can help us get closer to this goal. At Amelia’s retreat your family will be close to everything at this centrally-located Greensboro gem.

This was a great house and stay! Cute thoughtfulness throughout the house (little treats for kids and dogs, games, etc.). Quick drive to downtown area!
Very nice property. Nice layout with attention to details. Host was accommodating and very responsive to inquiries. Much care was given to provide conveniences for guests. Will certainly consider staying again if need to return.
Nice place.Location was good It was cleanInstructions ahead of time were perfectOutdoor space was really nice. We didn’t spend a lot of time here. A few things would make it great. 1. Renovations and updates didn’t look complete. Looks like a few corners were cut on the updates2. Electrical wasn’t functioning at its best.
Stayed at this wonderful place with our family of four and two pups. The home was perfect. Enough room for all of us and well stocked. The dogs enjoyed exploring the yard and it is a very quiet neighborhood. Home away from home for us as we spent Spring Break visiting with family. Owner was great and replied promptly with any questions we had. We will definitely book again.
Amelia’s House is a doll house….precious! We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Richard, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant, enjoyable! We appreciated his treating us as family!
Very nice and clean home with a good location. The communication was above our expectations, always quick to respond and even checked in to make sure everything was OK. We were welcomed with fresh Krispy Kreme donuts and many other snacks. I highly recommend this property and was a wonderful first vrbo experience. We would love to stay here again when we come back for the junior olympics!
We had a wonderful time at this gem of a house! The house had everything and the hosts made the stay so nice. So clean and comfortable! Lovely backyard with deck for outdoor dining. The house was so perfect for our stay and so close to the Greensboro Aquatic Center and all the places. Can’t wait to come back.

Needs Work
Unfortunately, our stay didn’t meet our expectations. The property looked much older in person than the photos online, and the living room furniture was different from what's shown in the listing. When we arrived for check-in, the house was still being cleaned, so we had to wait in our car for about 10 minutes until the cleaner finished.
We also found mold in the bathroom on both the shower curtain and tiles, as well as in one of the bedroom closets. The primary bathroom had additional issues—the grate in the shower was painted, causing it to bubble when running the water, and the toilet started running and nearly overflowed.
That being said, the house was generally clean, and the location was fine. The host was very responsive when we reached out about the mold and refunded our money after we decided to check out after just one night (we had originally booked for four nights). It’s a shame because it’s a cute house, but more attention to detail on these pressing issues is really needed.
My husband, dog and I were able to stay at Amelia’s retreat for three days and two nights. We had went to a concert at the coliseum. Richard made sure bathrooms and rooms were stocked well. There was toiletries and even feminine hygiene products under the bathroom sinks. The bed we slept in was very comfortable and we enjoyed how close it was to many eateries. We had the convenience of having a lazy day and was Able to DoorDash some snacks and appetizers from some local places. We will be keeping this property in mind next time we come this way for a show. Thank you so much for the good times and a nice backyard for out pup to be a hotdog and sun bathe
Home was very clean, so convenient to reach, close to everything. Close neighbors in this neighborhood but the tall fence makes privacy easily felt. We loved the home and would like to return. Both neighbors have dogs....our pups would race to the fence for dog talk lol, but there was no issue with non-stop barking. Only noise is the random train a few blocks away or traffic a block away. Inside the home you hear nothing. We were welcomed with snacks and drinks which is so kind. Sweet home!
Great place to stay for a fun weekend with the kids in Greensboro! Host was friendly and attentive. Loved that we could bring our dog and enjoy a fenced in backyard too! Location was 15min or less to even great thing in the city.
The property was very nice and charming. The hosts gave plenty of touches to make it feel like home, and super comfortable. They also provided different forms of entertainment, such as books, games, and roku on each television. The check in was easy, and the host was very quick to respond to any questions we had. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, but still close to everything we needed. Overall, a great stay!
Another great stay- perfect spot to stay for events at the coliseum. Clean, comfortable and cute with a great yard. Third year in a row for us and already booked for next year.
This was a great stay for my parents, husband, and me. We had a lot of room and were comfortable throughout our stay. The backyard is really big and fenced in. This home would be great for children. Our only recommendation would be to bring some extra toilet paper. We ran out during our stay and could not locate any back-up rolls.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amelia's Retreat! Our family was in town for an event at the GAC, and we needed dog friendly accommodations. This was perfect for our needs - highlights include the fenced back yard, the playground at the elementary school across the street, the Atari game console, and the close proximity to the Civic Center complex. The host was very responsive and accommodating, and we will definitely stay again!
