My and family and I stayed at the property for 7 days and enjoyed a peaceful vacation. The only thing I wish that had been done to the property was the landscaping. The leaves weren’t cleared from the front door or the fire pit. We did find a leaf blower and extra battery to do the work ourselves.
The home was large enough for our group & adequately furnished. We spent a large amount of time on the dock & enjoying the water & the neighborhood was very quiet. The house is in need of some maintenance, particularly on the exterior, but it was roomy enough for our needs. Enjoyed our stay!
We enjoyed a 10-night stay at this home that offered plenty of space for 8. Nice common areas, open porch, and peaceful setting on a cove just off the open water. We were out swimming and kayaking every day with good weather, thanks to the easy water access. This was an unexplored part of the state from us...it's a bit out of the way but we appreciated the scenic drives and lack of traffic.
We had a great time the place was excellent would love to do it all again. Lake was amazing. Fishing was very successful. So many fish. kayak was so much fun. Host and the house was absolutely excellent.
We had a great time at this home. Branda was very responsive and the house was wonderful for our group of 8. It rained one of the days we were there, and we really enjoyed the downstairs area and being able to gather together and watch movies.
Spent a long girl’s weekend at this lovely lake house and had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable, tastefully furnished, and well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay. Definitely would rent the house again!
We thoroughly enjoyed the property and location. The owner was extremely helpful and the house was fantastic! Could not have asked for a better experience!
We had a great week spending quality time with family. We had plenty of laughs, lots of good food, and much needed relaxation by the lake. We fished, played in the water and just enjoyed each other's company. It was a great spot and the house had everything we needed for our home away from home for the week.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lake Tillery and exploring the surrounding areas to see what all it had to offer. Impressive! The house was perfect for our family, plenty of space for everyone, and the communication with the host was stellar. We will definitely return.
We had a great time at this location. It was perfect for 12 of us staying with 4 adults, 6 teenagers, and 2 others, ages 10 and 7. The boat dock was greatly appreciated as we brought our boat with us. The kids were able to paddle board and use the swim mat provided by our hosts. Communication was excellent, check out super simple and no problems during our stay. Would definitely rent again!
My family and I stayed here for Thanksgiving this year and had a wonderful time. The property is spacious yet comfortable and cozy. The games and den were terrific bonuses for the kids. Both the neighborhood and lake were beautiful and quiet. The owners are kind and hospitable. We have no complaints or critiques. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
This well-loved home was a great spot for our three families to come together. The teens had their own space to hang out, and there was plenty of outdoor seating. The lake inlet was a little murky for swimming, but great for small watercraft. Hosts were responsive to issues that arose.
I came with my husband and 2 kids, sister and her 4 kids and my father and girlfriend. There was plenty of space for everyone and we had a great time relaxing on our vacation. Something we found really lacking was the grill. It was very small especially compared to amount of people the place accommodates. Overall great place to stay, would love to come back with a group of friends
This was a nice place to stay in a great location. The house is kept up well and it has a nice view of the lake from the back deck. Brenda is very friendly and was available whenever I called. The only knock I have is the "Ninja Course". If you are taking your kids for that reason, it is not quite as advertised. But, there is plenty for them to do so it wasn't a problem for us at all.
We had an amazing time at Camp Carola! We spent a few days there for my husband’s 40th birthday. We did one adult only day, one day with all the kids and then our last day was just with our family of 4. The house was the perfect location and had a great setup for everyone to hang out and relax. We did some kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and swimming. The downstairs area was the perfect spot! The kids loved the bunk areas for them to sit and sleep. I enjoyed my quiet morning coffee on the deck and we love that the swim area was shaded most of the morning. With all the kids this was perfect especially since it was the hottest days of the year while we were there. We hope to make this a yearly trip! The hosts were awesome at communicating and answered all of my questions before we arrived. I definitely recommend staying!
Overall, it was a wonderful stay. The boathouse was very nice with a covering for those who don’t want sun and also no covering for fishing. The fire pit area was very nice and we enjoyed doing s’mores. The upper deck area was very nice as pictured with beautiful views of the lake. My complaints were that the yard could’ve been better kept. Needs quite a bit of updating. For example, door wall to main deck was quite a struggle to open. The walk to the dock was quite treacherous with broken cement. Front screen door locked if you shut it all the way. Wish they had a full size barbecue. Only supplied with a small one that required charcoal. Needed quite a bit of cleaning. The fan in the master only stayed on the highest volume and we could not figure how to turn it down. Freezing at night. The dock did not have a ladder, which I believe the picture showed there was one.
When we arrived, there was an issue with the passcode not working which delayed our entry in. However, Brenda and Jason answered and resolved everything swiftly!! We were able to get in and out without any further issues thereafter.
The home is as pictured. The little ones adored the downstairs living room bunks and slide! Neighborhood is very quiet especially considering we were there during a holiday weekend.
The kids loved the paddle boat and had a blast swimming by the dock. The neighbors (across from us) were very friendly and nice. They even informed us of the July 4th parade which occurs yearly. The parade is short but as expected since the community is small. The kids loved it as they were thrown candy and a little surprise.
cons:
Lower unit can get cold but the room does have AC/heating system!!
Regardless and without hesitation, we’d definitely return to this home and cannot wait to come back!!
My visit included my family with two elderly grandparents. Our planned host had to cancel last minute and this house made our trip still possible. The owner was quick to respond when I had questions about handicap accessibility to the main floor before we even booked. The location was great. We had a good time and I really appreciate that there are so many bathrooms. The balcony was a great place to sit as well. The house does need some attention. One of the toilet seats came unhooked easily and frequently. The master had broken blinds on one window and no blinds on another so we used towels for privacy and to block the light. There were several light bulbs that were burned out. The bunk bed room has recessed electrical outlets that were completely unusable. It’s possible the house needs some electrical work in general. We had several light switches that we couldn’t figure out uses for and with several lights not working (some affixed to the ceiling) we weren’t sure if it was a light bulb issue or an electrical issue. Overall, we enjoyed the stay and wouldn’t have changed our choice, however it would be nice to see a little more attention given to the place to make it an excellent stay.
