The place could use some extra cleaning and a few minor fixes, but overall the experience was good and met our needs. The host was responsive and the cost was reasonable too. It’s really nice having the separate space downstairs if you are sharing with two families.

Everything was as promised: clean spacious, very helpful host. Plenty of fun things to do nearby. The weather was too cold to enjoy the lake, etc., so we will have to come back!

This was our annual family trip and it was exactly what we needed. Mornings on the deck with coffee became our favorite ritual. The location is a win: close to the lake, an easy trip to the Big Trees, and Big Trees Market is right down the road for anything you forgot to pack. The place was clean, comfortable, and the dog approved, which is the toughest review panel in our family. We’d stay again without thinking twice. Five stars, zero notes.

Lovely cabin with updates and a nice kitchen. Our first time in Arnold and we will definetley be back. The hosts were easy to communicate with and check in was easy.We all loved the Electronic Darts and Pool Table. The deck was perfect and had gates on both sides for our dogs enjoyment. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck and looking at the stars. We did not use the lake or pool so can't comment on that.We hiked part of the Arnold Rim Trail (8.8 miles) and explored the Big Trees Park which was beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and the houses nicely spaced apart.

An amazing place for a family!! Place warms up nice, and the amenities are GREAT…but the biggest highlight here are the excellent hosts!! They were on point and always available, we had a blast for our holiday trip!!

Wonderful Arnold retreat!

Ample sleeping areas. We all enjoyed the loft game room and the overall local was wonderful! Our dog was allowed to join in our trip and we are grateful that this property is pet friendly!

Bear Valley Fun

Eight of us with one golden retriever had a blast snowmobiling and sledding at Bear Valley. This home accommodated us well. Owners were very responsive. Fun times playing pool, fooze ball and games.

Fun cabin in the woods

What a great cabin! Plenty of room for two families with teenage kids. Great cabin for a dog since the deck is fenced in with gates. Beds were comfy and since the weather was kind of cold we took advantage of the amazing wood burning stove. It was so cozy. We loved the pool table and ping pong table. Jono was an amazing host and very responsive! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

BEST ever1

We were a a large family group of eight: myself (the grandmother, my two daughters, their husbands, three grandchildren, and two small dogs) . We had a wonderful time staying at this cabin. We have gone to the area almost every year for the past 10 years, and this was the best rental ever. It had everything we needed. It was beautifully clean, had everything a kitchen could ever need, and even a table where we could all sit together. The loft playroom was the draw for the holden. I now need to learn to play pool! We can’t wait to return.

Wonderful place for a group

Spacious and comfortable, this house accommodates a large group of friends. There's a huge loft with a pool table and games, table tennis and darts downstairs, a big couch, big table, good kitchen. The location is pleasant and quiet (not walking distance to the store, but easy to get to), conveniently close to the Big Trees Park, and between Bear Valley (cross country skiing) and Murphys/Angels Camp, so we could enjoy visiting those even when it rained for three days straight. The host responds to questions very promptly.

Amazing location, dog-friendly, fun house

First time to Arnold, and we loved it! It's in a very quiet neighborhood where it's easy to walk the dogs. We took them snow-shoeing in the super-deep snow in Bear Valley, but enjoyed not having to deal with slick roads in Arnold itself. There were some surprisingly good restaurants nearby, and we also enjoyed cooking in the well-designed kitchen. Everything we needed was there. The one surprise (and we've been in touch with the owners about this) is that I did not expect to need the wood-burning stove to adequately heat the house. Somehow I was under the impression that it was there for charm, but that the house would be well-heated otherwise. That was not the case, but we quickly got in the groove with the wood-burning stove and ended up enjoying it. Just a word to the wise that -- in winter -- you'll need to start your morning by building a fire. Once it got going, however, we were quite toasty and warm.

I am so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful time visiting Arnold and getting to play in the snow. And I am glad that you were able to get in the groove making fires in the wood stove. When the cabins in this area were built, they were not equipped with forced air heating that might be the norm elsewhere. There are baseboard heaters in all of the bedrooms, and the main living area is heated with the wood stove. We will be sure to update the description so this is abundantly clear. We hope you choose to visit again!

2 families and dog

We really enjoyed our stay and the place was perfect for us. Our family took over the downstairs and our friends took the middle floor. The dog was comfortable on the enclosed porch and could also come out to what looked like a small dog run off the downstairs. The loft was fun for all, with the pool table and foosball. Kitchen and dining table was comfortable and had all the basics. There were even some ziplock bags that came in handy. That said, there were a few little things that were not A+ (but we didn’t seek that), like a number of clocks were showing different times in the house, and a couple of things were broken in the downstairs bathroom. Also, maybe I didn’t read very carefully that in order to use the swimming pool and all the other things the club had to offer, we had to pay 20$/person. Since we only planned to splash for an hour and we were a group of 10 people, we decided it was not worth it for us. We ended up going to White Pines Lake and splashing for free. Got to see a bald eagle catch some fish right in front of us. It was pretty cool. Next time we will have more experience and can plan to spend a day at the club, which looked pretty fun and had a lot to offer. Overall it was a great stay and we are very grateful to Jono for offering the house to us. Thank you!

Our family of six from ages six through 81 thoroughly enjoyed themselves immensely. The house was quite comfortable and there were loads of room for everyone to spread out; the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. It was easy to communicate with the owners who replied promptly to our questions. We would love to return.

Thanksgiving weekend

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the Chalet with our family of 6 adults, 4 children (1 under 2), and 2 dogs. A large dining table allowed us to all sit together for meals. The kitchen was very well supplied, and the wood stove kept us all warm and cozy. The children loved the upstairs loft with pool table, foosball, and games; and the downstairs ping pong table, dart board, and 2nd TV. There is also a dog run under the house. This home is just up the hill from Hwy. 4 and close to lots of activities. We highly recommend this home for families - it was perfect for us!
