ROMANTIC,ARTIST'S PVT 'FOREST SUITE', 5 ac.Redwds,trail, NEW OD SHR, Mendo 2 mi.

"Nothing comes closer to perfect than Jen's place."

Forest Suite is located just a few minutes south from the village of Mendocino on 5 acres of beautiful redwoods. This 550 sq. ft. apartment plus 200sq ft deck, is upstairs from my 2,000 sq. ft artist’s studio, which is not in use when guests are staying. Built entirely with redwood, recycled fir and barn wood with cement counters and shower this romantic getaway is a very special spot.

The south wall is all windows facing the deck with deck chairs and a table with two chairs for dining overlooking the surrounding towering redwoods. The bed is slightly higher so that the view over the couch to the deck and view is unobstructed. There are step stools on either side of the bed if needed. It’s very peaceful and sunny and is frequented by honeymooners, artists, writers and those seeking total privacy. A few books and screenplays have been written here!

There is an eclectic book and DVD library to enjoy, internet, Direct TV and some boardgames. For your comfort there is a cozy gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, a standing fan, electric heater and removable window screens in the hall closet. The kitchen is fully stocked and there are also yoga mats and weights for your use.

Take a walk through the forest; you will see TRAIL & SHOWER signs by the driveway which will take you through the property and out onto Gordon Lane for a longer walk. At the beginning of the trail there is a deck in a round of redwood trees with a magical outdoor hot/cold shower. Bring bathrobes!!! Or, just relax at the Suite and enjoy the tranquility.

Charming and cozy forest retreat. Loved coffee in the morning on the deck and the smell of forest. Nice scenic hike to the Spring Ranch trail along the coast from Gordon Ln.

Wonderful! This was our second stay here - it feels like you are out in the wilderness, but it's just a short drive to town. Very quiet and private. Well equipped kitchen. The deck is lovely - would be nice if there was a grill (maybe it's just a safety issue). The outdoor shower is great, too! Highly recommended.

We’ve stayed here multiple times and each visit was as great as the last one. The studio is cozy, yet spacious with great natural lighting even on cloudy days. The location is very private and peaceful yet only a few minutes drive into Mendocino or Fort Bragg. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous and the wall of windows allows for a great view. The deck was nice to sit on, especially in the morning. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed. The room retained the heat from the sun and was warm overnight in mid-July. I found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable, but others may find it fine. The WiFi went in and out but not a big issue. The host was great and answered our questions via text the first morning. Overall, a great experience!

I'm glad you had a great time at Forest Suite! In the last review the guests remarked that the bed was very comfortable, and I haven't had any complaints, but the type of mattress is for sure a very personal choice! Because of our location on Gordon Lane, we have a DSL WIFI connection through a local server that supports our schools. It generally works fine unless there is an issue with AT&T. A reboot of the modem should reset any basic issues.

This amazing place is a true hidden gem! My husband and I came to Mendocino with a full itinerary of hiking and taking in the coastal views. Our plans quickly changed once we settled in. The tranquility, beauty and romance that surrounds this little hide away is like no other. All essential and wonderful extras were provided. We had a few questions and Jen was quick to respond. I can't say enough about the amazing place! This was a trip we will always remember! Thank you Jen for opening up this special place to everyone!

We usually stay at a hotel or bed and breakfast when we go to Mendocino. I wanted to spend my boyfriends birthday in nature and away from people and this was perfect! It was quiet and beautiful. It had all the things we needed to make our stay great. The ear plugs and eye masks were a nice touch. We enjoyed the shower and all of the kitchen equipment were new and worked perfectly. The trail was also nice. If you're looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay, this is the place!

We had a fantastic stay here; the forested location is beautiful and perfectly quiet. The indoor space is thoughtfully laid out, nicely decorated, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast on the large deck overlooking the surrounding woods. The listing and the many glowing reviews are 100% accurate. We hope to stay again next time we're visiting the Mendocino area.

The bed was too high...we are short people. Also, I wasn't aware I'd be climbing stairs...must have missed that part.The kitchen was well equiped, and it was nice to have condiments in the fridge. We did not need the heater. The shower was nice.

Hi Steve, Glad you had a nice stay! In the description of Forest Suite on VRBO, it says that it is upstairs from my art studio, so yes some stairs to go up! I also mention the bed is high to have a view over the sofa and out to the deck and the view. I have provided step stools on both sides of the bed to make access easier for those on the shorter side.
