*Flat lot with yard area next to cabin

*Remodeled kitchen with soapstone countertops
*Dogs welcomed w/ pet fee (see pet rules)

Welcome to our newly remodeled cabin. Conveniently located in a peaceful wooded area of Sky Harbor between Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg, this rustic 2 BR, 2BA cabin can sleep up to 4 adults and 2 children. Being so close to the excitement of attractions like Dollywood and also near all of the outdoor wonders of the national park, this cabin could be great for your next Smoky Mountain adventure.

See our pet policy for information on dogs and the nightly pet fee of $30.00 for up to 2 dogs under 50lbs (be sure to select pets when booking if bringing dogs).

There is a kitchen if you like to cook your own meals. The new cabinets are stocked with the dishes and kitchen equipment you would need to cook your own meals. A soapstone countertop was installed last spring and also a live edge wood coffee bar countertop with seating for two in the kitchen. The cabin does not include any food or personal items outside of soap & initial rolls of toilet paper and paper towels. If you are planning a longer stay or plan to cook at the cabin frequently, you may need to take some of your garbage to a local trash site. These are detailed in our welcome guide. For most stays under a week, you can use the outside secured garbage cans and our cleaner will remove it after checkout.

If you need a break from all of the great activities in the area, you can relax inside the living room in front of the electric fireplace while using your own Roku account to access your favorite streaming content. The Roku stick on both TVs and it is set to guest mode. This allows you to enter your checkout date and login to your own accounts. All your accounts will automatically logout on your checkout day.

This quaint cabin has a porch that stretches around the front and one side of the cabin offering many seating locations to take in nature and enjoy the fresh air. Speaking of nature, you will likely see various types of wildlife and insects during your stay. This could include bears. Please read about bear safety. Do not feed the bears or leave car/cabin doors or windows open and unlocked. From October through late November, lady bugs show up in this area in mass. You will find them around the cabin and can be vacuumed or easily swept. Please take note about rules regarding food outside and checkout the National Park Service information on what to do if you see a bear. Insects are common in this wooded area as well.

For safety there is a ring flood light security camera at the front door into the cabin.

While the drive up the mountain has many sharp turns and inclines, when you arrive at this cabin you will find an easy gentle slope of the driveway up to a mostly flat lot with room to play outside. The outside also includes a picnic table and patio table on the deck. The hot tub is on the deck outside of the main bedroom.

Winter weather conditions can make it hard to travel on the roads in this area. Make sure you have enough food and water in the cabin if the power goes out or the roads are blocked. Also be sure to have warm clothing and flashlights in case the power is out in the winter.

Power outages can happen any time during the year. In the mountains rain or wind can cause issues. Sometimes the power is restored within a few hours and other times it takes more than a day.

Our welcome guide will have information about a FB group you can join for local condition updates.

We recommend purchasing travel insurance. Make sure to check the terms of your travel insurance to know what coverage it will provide. Please make sure you check the cabin for personal items before leaving. We may not be able to locate lost items left behind. If we can locate them, we may be able to mail them to you for a fee that would include postage and a service fee.

Important Note: Fire Pit - Sky Harbor (our home owner association) strongly recommends no open burning, however it is not completely banned by the association. While we do have a fire pit on site, we ask that you be extremely careful when using it. We are located in a wooded area and fire safety is important to us and our neighbors. Local government officials will not permit open fires based on weather conditions, and other factors to help prevent accidental forest fires. Please check local information to confirm that an open fire is permitted on the day you are planning to use the fire pit. Sometimes there are local burn bans that come with high penalties if they are violated. Rules will be shared in your welcome guide prior to arrival. You are responsible for providing seasoned dry logs ready for burning. We also recommend bringing your own fire safe gloves for handling logs and fire pit tools.

Hi!

Thank you so much for checking out BlackBeary Ridge! My family and I love exploring the great Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg....and we know you will too! I am originally from Annapolis, MD and grew up loving the outdoors! My husband introduced me to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smokey National Park a few years ago and I fell in love with it!

Several years ago, I traveled the world as a performer - singing and dancing! I had the opportunity to visit many countries and interesting places across the globe. After a few years, I decided to stop living out of my suitcases on the road and pursue a career in the education field. I don't perform professionally anymore, but I continue to pursue my passion by teaching kids and adults musical theatre and dance!

Why they chose this property

When my husband first took me to the Great Smokey Mountain area, my jaw dropped when the mountains came into view as we drove towards/through Pigeon Forge! Wow! Soon after we visited downtown Gatlinburg and I was in love! I wanted to find a location easily accessible to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge....and of course the Smokey Mountains. I was particularly drawn to the mostly flat lot that the cabin is located on. We love to relax outside and watch our child play! I was also drawn to the fact that the cabin is one story. I feel very cozy and comfortable whenever we visit.

What makes this property unique

Mostly flat lot. Grassy area to play in/relax outside in. Driveway is not steep (minimal slant). One story (with steps up to the front door). Hot Tub. Picnic Table outside. Cozy living room with electric fireplace.
