About this property

Blue Ridge Bunkhouse RV Rental on Homestead

Bunkhouse RV on our beautiful 13 acre Homestead with views of the Blue Ridge mountains. We are located 10 minutes outside of quaint Downtown Culpeper, 35 minutes from Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. Come listen to the roosters crow, laugh at the fainting goats, watch the pigs play and take in the fresh air, amazing sunsets and starlit night skies. Visit local breweries, wineries, bakeries and farm to table restaurants. A great stay for antiquing, hiking, or exploring local history!
Guests will have a private RV site on our property equipped with fire pit, outdoor chairs, picnic table, outdoor kitchen with Blackstone griddle, cooking and eating utensils, 20’ awning with lights and outdoor rug. Inside, guests will find a comfortable private master bedroom with a queen size memory foam mattress with bedding and pillows included. Additionally there are two twin size bunks and a twin size convertible dinette with bedding and pillows included for all. The bathroom includes shower, toilet and sink with towels and washcloths included. The inside kitchen has a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, 3-burner gas stove, sink, coffee maker, dishes and utensils. There is a TV, DVD player, radio with Bluetooth hookup and indoor/outdoor speakers. The propane furnace and electric space heater keep the RV warm and cozy on those chilly spring and fall nights and the rooftop AC provides more than enough cool air to keep you comfortable even in the hot humid Virginia summers.

In addition to a private campsite there are several shared areas guests will have access to on our farm, including a playground, acres or green space, private gravel roads for sunset walks, and a creek for collecting rocks and throwing stones. If guests are interested, we can introduce them to some of our animals, but please do not enter pastures without the owners.

Secluded, comfortable getaway

Great RV setup that was quite comfortable for our party of three. Loved the convenient onsite wood for firepit that allowed us to view SO MANY stars. Great place to use as a ‘base camp’ for easy access to Skyline Drive and Luray.

Glamping near Old Rag

Great place to explore Shenandoah National Park and hike Old Rag. Beautiful setting to unwind after a day exploring! Owners were friendly, thoughtful, and responsive; overall a wonderful experience. PS. If you have food scraps and don't want to waste them you can feed them to the goats - which our daughter enjoyed doing :-)

Perfect Get Away!

We absolutely loved our stay! The camper was just as pictured, beautiful, clean and stocked with everything we needed. We love to cook and the grills that were available were perfect. The property manager was quick to respond, provided great recommendations for local places and activities, and ensured we didn’t need anything throughout the stay. The animals were such a bonus! Barry the goat was so friendly, loved pets and it was cool getting to say hello to them throughout the stay. There are many local cafes, breweries, wineries and other places near by. We loved stopping at Before and After for coffee and a yummy breakfast! We went to Shenandoah 3 times during the stay and drove about 45-50 minutes to get to the trails and views we wanted. It was the perfect getaway!

Clean, Convenient, Kids friendly

Brittany is a thoughtful, friendly host and her RV is clean and well managed. Another good reason for me was RV is located in private property and no other campers bother me at all. It was a perfect family trip and especially recommend it to family with kids.

Super cute stay

I had a wonderful time! The RV was clean and comfortable, the owner was very welcoming and offered great recommendations for restaurants and activities in the area. I loved the farm animals especially the chickens. I only stayed for the weekend but wish I had more time to spend there. The location is close to Shenandoah NP and Luray Caverns and downtown Culpeper is absolutely adorable. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful!

This is a wonderful “glamping” experience! The RV itself is very nice, very very clean and the bed is so comfortable! The RV is situated on a beautiful working farm and right next to beautiful fields. There’s also hook ups for other RVs to stay here. When we were there, there were 2 other RVs occupied right next to us. Our space still felt private, they were both angled away and mostly blocked by our RV.. similar privacy levels to what you would experience in a small campground, if not more private than that. The property is definitely private from the world and very pretty. The hosts are also very very nice and aim to please. We had a problem with the stove starting and when I shot a message out to them, I swear they were down to our RV to help within 2 mins! This is a wonderful place to enjoy Shenandoah NP and surrounding areas like Culpeper and Madison.

Cute location, great amenities, great hiking trip!

This was the PERFECT location for our little first anniversary hiking trip. Really close to Shenandoah and the town of Culpeper is adorable! I highly recommend booking this VRBO. The host and her family were lovely, super nice and had great recommendations for food and hiking trails. We will definitely be back!

Lovely camper close to farm animals

The camper is very new, clean, and well appointed. The owners are very responsive. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing to keep in mind that farm animals are pretty close to the camper, for better or worse. You can just walk up to their pens and watch them close by (including a few emus!). At the same time, be prepared for all the farm smells and to be woken up by roosters at dawn.

AWESOME long weekend

The property was easy to find, Brittany and family are EXCELLENT hosts - always available and gave wonderful insights to the area! The trailer was stocked with excellent amenities and they even gave us fresh eggs from their own hens - AWESOME! The treat from a locally sourced family run bakery was awesome as well - way more that expected but most welcome and very good! My special needs son loved the animals and Brittany and family were so accomidating with him - he has not stopped talking about the weekend and has stated we WILL be going back to stay again. I can not recommend this highly enough - relaxing, quaint, close to town but definitely rural and Brittany and family are PERFECT host - you will not find a better experience on VRBO. We look forward to many visits in the future! Bill, Robin and Ian

Relaxing Mothers Day

We met our adult children at the property to enjoy a lovely Mothers Day. Our hosts had started a fire in the fire pit for us and allowed us access to their farm. We all enjoyed watching the chickens, pigs and goats go about their day. The camper was perfect- we utilized it to make our meals, relax indoors and use the “facilities”😉. All in all a great stay and we will be back to enjoy more time at this property.

About the host

Hosted by Brittany Harmon

Host profile image
Our family is building a 13 acre homestead in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains. Although most of our “farm animals” are pets, we are constantly growing and adding to our herd.

Why they chose this property

If you seek peace and quiet, you will find it here (except the roosters of course!). We are surrounded by serene cattle and horse farms, yet close enough to town to enjoy some amazing restaurants, breweries and wineries. Just a short 30-40 minute drive to some of the regions best hiking trails in the mountains you can see from our farm.

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with the sunset over the Blueridge Mountains. The minute we walked up the hill into the middle of the once corn field we knew that this place was special!
