Cozy waterfront Chalet nestled in Big Thicket, 17 miles from Livingston, Texas, just outside Ace, TX, 56 miles north of Houston Intercontinental Airport.
This quiet, charming Chalet on a private cove will beckon you back, again and again!
Enjoy the slow pace, peacefulness and sheer beauty of nature all around you on this quiet fishing lake!

Grab a beverage, a good book or fishing pole and come relax on the floating deck! Have breakfast, lunch or dinner there! Gentle movement on water is guaranteed to wipe your stress away! Sitting in the comfy Adirondack chairs underneath the deck's tin roof, enjoy sunlight dancing on water, or bask in the sun on the foredeck, letting all your cares drift away, or just take a little snooze if you wish!

Accommodations: 1 cozy loft bedroom with queen size bed, 1 downstairs bedroom with full- size bed, air-conditioned, woodburning fireplace, electric fireplaces, Internet(high-speed DSL), ROKU TV, Blu-ray player, Cassette player, movie library, small reading library including children’s books, games, large yard, grill, Chiminea.

Area is great for bird and nature watching, biking, running, or just strolling in the country!

Pets:
Your house-trained dogs are welcome with a Pet Fee of $100 for a maximum of 2 canines.
Poop bags are furnished for picking up after your pet.
Leashes are required outside the fenced property.

ALL NEW APPLIANCES: Electric Stove with Air-Fryer/Convection Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher and
NEW and lovely, very comfortable, leather loveseat.
NEW Gel Cooled mattress in the downstairs bedroom.
ROKU TV.

NO SWIMMING ALLOWED: This is a stocked fishing lake. We do not permit swimming. One reason is due to the close proximity of the Trinity River. An occasional Alligator has been known to visit and make it their home.

NO BOATS CAN BE BROUGHT IN.
Outside boats are not permitted on our lake. In the past, they were allowed. However, we incurred over $100,000 in fees to clean out what outside boats brought in. We had to kill all plant life, wait a year and are still working on replacing proper plant life in the lake.

Unfortunately, our boat sank in the boat slip due to being vandalized. Sadly, it is no longer available.

SECURITY CAMERAS: This property is monitored by live video security cameras 24/7. They are there for the security of the property as well as for guest’s security. Guests are welcome to unplug the cameras while on the premises. They just need to be sure to plug them back in prior to departing. Thank you in advance for your compliance!

Pretty, cozy little cabin tucked in on the lake, perfect for a couples get-a-way. Loved sitting on the porch or floating dock and watching the sun come up with a slight fog on the water. Lots of birds and squirrels to keep a person entertained. Even had the pleasure of watching a young alligator trolling across the water. Would certainly recommend.

Place was great and as advertised.

The place was great and had a nice lake type Freeling. The entire place was very clean when we arrived. The place had all of the amenities you would hope for. We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Getaway!

Only an hour drive from The Woodlands , Tx with vey little traffic! Such a peaceful, relaxing little lake. The nature and wild life made it a perfect escape from the city! The use of the little boat was such a special bonus to the rental! We hope to visit again soon!

Best Getaway Ever!

The property is absolutely perfect. Great decorating, absolutely adorable. Very clean! Has everything you may need. Right on the water. Has indoor and outdoor seating all around the place. Very quiet. Just perfect!

Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our stay here on the lake. Patricia was prompt to respond and answer questions related to the water levels nearing our stay. The house was just as advertised. The loft room could get warm (especially with 100° outside) during the day but temperature was very comfortable on the main level and everywhere in the evenings. Kitchen had lots of pots and pans to cook. Views of the water were lovely and the area was quiet and restful for our weekend getaway.

So peaceful at this sweet chalet!

Thank you, Patricia, for providing such a charming home to relax by the water! My sister and I enjoyed amazing sunrises, watching the birds, and enjoying fires by the lake in the evening.. The cardinals were abundant and fun to watch! The chalet was clean, charming, and very comfortable! Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway from the city! I will definitely book your little slice of heaven again! And bring my fishing gear next time!

Very Dog Friendly Stay! 2 hour drive from Houston Tx

Amazing stay at this adorable 2-bedroom, 1-bath lake house, and I can't say enough good things! It’s super dog-friendly, which was a huge win for us. Our dogs loved running around the fenced-in yard, sniffing everything in sight! The house smelled incredible and was stocked with all the kitchen gadgets we could ever need. Make sure to wake up early to catch the sunrise over the lake; it’s totally worth it. We enjoyed watching the sun come up from both the couch and outside—it was such a peaceful way to start the day. I highly recommend this place! The host was super accommodating and easy to chat with, which made our stay even better. Since we live so close to Houston, we’ll definitely be back whenever we need a little getaway!

Relaxing nature at your fingertips.

In our group there was 4 senior family and friends and we were looking for a place to stay on the water where we could sit back and enjoy it. This is a lovely little chalet with a very nice yard and beautiful shade. Very quiet because it’s in a cove, so you don’t have the boats and water crafts disturbing your fishing. The lake was very low for our visit so the fishing was pretty sparse, but should be better when it’s back up. We totally enjoyed our visit and will plan to do it again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this cute little house, and it was an absolute gem of a getaway. The coziness of the space was perfect, and it immediately felt like a home away from home. We settled right in, and every corner of the house seemed to be thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional hospitality of our host. She was not only kind but also incredibly attentive throughout our stay. Before our trip, she had informed us about the lower lake levels due to the drought, even offering us the option to cancel our reservation. We decided to proceed with our plans because the house itself was so lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the lake, despite its lower water levels, remained just as beautiful and serene as we expected. I would wholeheartedly recommend this charming lakefront chalet to anyone in search of a simple, tranquil getaway. Our experience was nothing short of fantastic, and we give it a solid 10/10!

Relaxing Getaway

my wife and i had a great time. we also brought our dog who was quite interested in all of the wildlife outside. we saw lots of different types of birds, and plenty of turtles. the property was clean and well - maintained and my wife and i both loved enjoying wine and playing scrabble on the floating deck. our dog enjoyed the floating deck as well as it was really nice especially at night. it rained the first night but wasn't a problem because it was actually quite romantic and very mood calming. it was close to the town of livingston which was only about 30 min drive away for any sort of food, drink, or restaurant. wish the lake was a cleaner lake but its more of a lake with alot of algae and swamp like land but nothing that you can control. more for fishing, and lake livingston isn't too far of a drive anyways. good fun, would only recommend to have a dvd player at the house but again not a huge issue.

Texas Hideaway

The property was a wonderful getaway and was everything that it was advertised to be. We enjoyed the property more than we could have imagined. The location was quiet and peaceful and we had the opportunity to experience some great fishing, almost on a daily basis. The weather was less than cooperative during the first couple of weeks of our stay, but eventually improved and allowed us to enjoy the outdoor fireplace and floating deck. We were also fortunate enough to meet some wonderful neighbors that we became very good friends with in a very short amount of time. The downside that we found to the property was it's proximity to town and easy access to either shopping or restaurants. It was easily a half hour to either. Additionally, the small house did not have a washer and dryer (and it was certainly not advertised to have either, but it would have been nice for our extended stay.) All things considered, we would spend time there again and hope for good weather.

Loved our stay

The property is lovely and serene. We enjoyed the symphony of birds, watching the enormous carp hanging out near the dock, and walking our dogs around the neighborhood. Water was super low so being in our 60's we didn't attempt crawling down to the floating dock. We were younger, we would not have hesitated. Stairs were indeed steep and something to note, but we loved the accommodations never-the-less. The owners had taken care to provide just about anything we would need, including super great mattresses! Would recommend T-Mobile users write down the gate key and wi-fi info before traveling. We had no cell service when we arrived and had I not jotted those things down, I wouldn't have been able to get into the property or sign on to their wi-fi. The only reason communication is 4 instead of 5 stars was that I wasn't able to get thru to the owner for a full morning due to her robocall blocker. Once she realized I had tried to call her, she responded quickly, though. Highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet getaway.

An absolute delight

Patricia has such a keen eye for detail and ensured our stay was absolutely seamless. An absolute angel! First and foremost, the property description was spot on and her lovely cabin was exactly what we expected. The check-in and check-out instructions were incredibly thorough and we had all the information we needed about wifi, troubleshooting the TV, etc. There was bug spray, fishing rods, plenty of fire wood, cooking equipment, basic seasonings and tons more. Our two pups LOVED running around the huge fenced yard and lounging by the lake. We truly could not have asked for a better place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Peaceful Getaway

This property is just as pictured. It is a cozy, lovely little place with views of the water as your constant companion. It is very quiet and truly “away from it all”. We loved having coffee on the front porch and watching the birds in the morning and having cocktails in the evening by the water with a fire in the chiminea.

Relaxing Getaway

The rental is in a quiet and peaceful location. Nature is all around you and there are so many sitting areas outside to take it in.. My husband fished and I watched the squirrels and the birds. The floating dock was perfect. The kitchen is equipped with everything. Patricia is an amazing host. She provided restaurants for us to visit. She knew the best place for my husband to get bait.. The house is cozy and has books, games, dvds, VCR tapes and all kinds of things to keep you busy. We will be back, it was a cozy retreat and a great escape from the city.

Great Secluded Lake Front

Beautiful lake front chalet. Great views of the lake. Very quiet and relaxing. We sat outside on the dock and enjoyed our music and food every night. Would definitely come back again.

Cozy getaway

This was the perfect cozy home for our Mother Daughter weekend getaway. We loved sitting outside and enjoying nature, especially the cardinals! This is our second stay here and I am sure there will be more. Patricia is so friendly and easy to contact. She is a great host! Overall just a peaceful trip!

Cozy Chateau getaway

It was a girls get away. We really enjoyed the very cute cabin, it's location on George Taylor Lake had several optional shaded seating areas to view the beautiful lake.

Super Cute, Relaxing Lake View Chalet

Wonderful stay and very relaxing! This host has thought of almost everything! Kitchen and bath were both well stocked with everything you will need and then some! Communication with Patricia was easy, a message was immediately sent after booking via VRBO with her cell number in case of any other questions. Our dog was also able to run around the fenced in yard without us having to worry about him getting out. There is also good fishing here, we caught lots of fish! So much fun! Thank you for sharing your lake house!

My late husband and I fell in love with the area while visiting friends who owned weekend houses there and, in 1980, we had the shell of the house built. With the help of wonderful friends, we worked weekends building out the interior. The project took about a year to complete and I have so many great memories of those times. The chalet became our escape from the hectic weekly pace in Houston. We put heart and soul into building out the chalet! When my husband passed away in 1993, the only way I could rationalize keeping the property was to rent it out to vacationers. I've had the good fortune of meeting so many wonderful people who have rented from me since that time and look forward to being blessed with many more!
