Escape to nature and relax just minutes from Houston in this 4 bedroom home on a private lake. There are 450 feet of lakefront property and 1 acre fenced very private yard for the kids to run and play. Try your hand at fishing off the pier, take the canoe out for a relaxing tour around the lake, or use the kayak to catch largemouth bass. All boats are available for your use while staying in the home. Build a fire to roast marshmallows in the evening, and listen to the sounds of nature while stargazing. The next morning, enjoy your coffee or tea on the deck while watching the sunrise over the lake. We even offer our guests to collect fresh eggs from our hens caged at the property--what a treat! Dogs permitted with prior approval and nominal fee. Long term guests (over 30 days) have lawn service, bi-weekly housekeeping, and access to the studio apartment on the property.

Early check-in at 10:00 am. Check out is 2:00 pm.
The house is fully stocked with all you need for a small family gathering or a quiet couple's getaway. Cook your meals in the large kitchen while visiting with family and friends in the spacious living/dining area. There is space for everyone. Kids can shoot baskets, ride scooters, or chase butterflies outdoors. When not outside, everyone can enjoy watching movies, playing games on the X-Box, or playing board games. The home sleeps 9-11 guests in beds and is equipped with 3 air mattresses and 1 playpen for your use.
Goodrich is a small town just East of Lake Livingston State Park. The Lake Livingston dam is less than 10 minutes away, as is Lake Livingston State Park where you can boat, hike the many wooded trails, go bird watching, mountain bike, geocache, and study nature. The city of Livingston is a short 10-minute drive and provides restaurants and stores for any of your needs. The Alabama-Coushatta Indian reservation is only 20 minutes away if you want to learn about the tribe or spend the evening at the casino on site. For longer day trips, The Woodlands Mall and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion entertainment complex are approximately 1 hour away. You may find a concert you have been wanting to see there or just do a full day of shopping and dining. The city of Houston is also 1 hour from the house and provides a wide variety of cultural, educational, entertainment, shopping, and dining choices.

Security cameras are located at the entrance gate to the property and at the chicken coop. Please note that the lake is a private lake and does not permit gas-powered motors or wake. Only battery-powered trolling motors are allowed.

We all enjoyed this lake house. Everything was perfect.House is very well equipped, the garden is huge, the views are beautiful , the lake is very relaxing. I highly recommend this property to every age group, we definitely plan to return!

Great get away

Our family had a great time on the water with the kayacks, canoe and 2 peddle boats. The owner was very good at answering any questions and the house had anything you need including toys for my 2 year old granddaughter:)

A five-star retreat

Great, caring, lovely hosts who do that little bit extra to make you feel welcomed. Property offers gorgeous views of a peaceful landscape and river, which is a nice respite from the city or suburbs. There are other homes nearby, but not easily visible from the property–you feel like you're in your own world. Exactly what you need to reconnect with friends and family.

Lake house retreat

This property was immaculately clean. The house was well laid out & the beds were comfortable. We loved the big farmers dining table & the fire pit. The only change I would like is to have the side deck more accessible. We were happy hanging out on the back porch and having a peaceful view of the lake. The canoes were fun too!

Great place to stay for a quiet get-away

We were looking for somewhere for a staff retreat. There were 5 couples. 4 couple each took a bedroom and 1 couple slept in the living room on couch and blow up mattress. We chose this location for several reasons; the table can comfortably seat 10 people (there is also a kitchen bar with seating if you need more seats) and the living area was large enough to accomidated our group. Everything was very clean and well kept. The bedding smelled nice and fresh. The hose has trees on either side of it for privacy and the lake front area is just as it is pictured. Everything worked great...I would definitely recommend this place! One more thing...if you use the canoe, be careful getting in and into the water, it tips easily lol...one of the couples from our group found this out the hard way.

Perfect Little Getaway

We’ve read this place because it was only an hour from our home and yet would allow us to feel like we have had a little mini vacation. It’s a little do we know that we would not be able to spend so much time on the property and would have to go back-and-forth between Houston and here due to a death in the family. We were able to bring our nieces and nephews back and allow them to enjoy the getaway for a night and it was perfect. The egg gathering every morning was fun with the kids and the lake was fabulous! Alise was an amazing host and we will definitely be back again!

Great getaway

We enjoyed our week long stay. Seven seniors (65 - 74 years old) that wanted a change from camping on the Guadalupe River for Memorial weekend. This place was perfect - we bobbed in the water, went kayaking and did some fishing. We enjoyed having fresh eggs every morning for breakfast. The place is just as advertised and the ease of communication with Alise, the host, was outstanding. She answered every question and went out of her way to fit our needs.

Great weekend getaway!

We gathered together from two states to enjoy a relaxing all girls weekend, this place exceeded our expectations! The house was so clean and has everything you need and then some, the views are beautiful and the host was absolutely amazing!! We have “girls getaway” weekends at least twice a year… We marked this one down as a favorite and will definitely be back!! I highly recommend!

Visit in August

The property was lovely and very relaxing. The rooms were spacious, and our family was comfortable. The hosts were most hospitable, and we felt like welcome visitors. It seemed like our hosts thought of everything we needed even closets of toys for our 2 and 3 yr. olds - who also enjoyed seeing the chickens. I highly recommend this property and would certainly book again. A big thank you to our hosts.

Absolutely Perfect!!!

We just returned home from this amazing property and we're already planning to come back next year! The location is private and quiet, the home makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in like you are returning to the family lakehouse, and we received a text from the host checking on us with a number to reach her if we had any problems. The home is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and we all had space to hang out. The view out the back is so pretty and even when it came a short rain we couldn't take our eyes off the lake. We fished, swam, went kayaking and peddle-boating. The lake is calm, serene, and the bonus of no motorized watercrafts is so nice. The kids loved the chickens, playing basketball and the firepit at night. Thankyou for the gift, the memories and a wonderful family weekend!!!

Peace and Quiet

Everyone enjoyed this nice tucked away home. Right off the water with plenty of space for the family and dogs to run around. Fresh eggs from the coop, s’mores by the fire pit, kayaks/ peddle boats and fishing made a great trip. Owner was great, checked in on us from time to time to make sure things were going well. Livingston State park is only about 15 minutes away; Sam Houston National Forest is about 40 minutes away. Weather wasn’t great, but we were still able to have a good time.
