About this property
‣ Lake Livingston Waterfront House, Sunset views. Deep water, Fishing, Kayaking.
CCSunset Cottage is an ideal place for photographers looking for a great sunset view or bird spotting, and a perfect place for a single-family or couples who like to spend time outdoors either on the large deck, dock, patio, or yard doing activities with friends or family. We provide a couple of yard games, a lily pad, kayaks, and a Paddle Board, you provide the fun. The house is located in a deep water area and is great for fishing. Catfish will hang around the dock and will appreciate it if you feed them some catfish food around dust.
The house is located at the end of the peninsula, facing the main lake. To the back is the channel, which is navigable and another good area for fishing, kayaking or just exploring.
The house is on the smaller side for those who like to be indoors, but sit on the couch and look out over the lake, and you will feel as if you are on the bridge of a cruise ship.
There are water views from all the windows, whether it is the channel behind the house or when you walk from the bedrooms to the kitchen, and you get a panoramic view of the main lake.
In the summer months, we are generally treated to gorgeous Sunsets and the water will be calm most of the time. It is one of the best spots on the lake for water sports and lake activities. There are a couple of community boat ramps 2-5 minutes from the cottage. Penwaugh Marina is a stone's throw on the channel behind our place. It is very convenient for fuel or just need minnows or a fishing report from the owner of the marina.
The house is approximately 15 min from Onalaska and 18 minutes from downtown Livingston for groceries or restaurants. There are a couple of dollar stores nearby for general items, 5-10 min away.
The water around the seawall and dock is extremely deep. We provide life preservers for kids and adults. Kids need adult supervision at all times.
Diving headfirst into the water off the dock or seawall is not allowed. There are some submerged stumps around and the storms can move waterlogged trees about, so jump and swim at your own risk.
- Check-in is after 4 pm, though It is highly recommended to try and make it in before sunset most nights, you will not want to miss it!
- Parking is limited to 2 vehicle(s). If you do have an extra vehicle or a trailer for a jet ski or a boat, please let us know in advance
- There are sleeping accommodations for 7 with 2 queen beds and a 3-level bunk bed spread out amongst the 3 bedrooms (Top Bunk Bed for Kids only).
- Parties are not allowed and guests are expected to respect our neighbors and not be noisy or play loud music from 10 pm - 8 am.
- No smoking is allowed inside the house.

About the host
Hosted by James Cunningham

We live in Houston, but love going to the lake to take in the views or just enjoy the wild life.
Why they chose this property
It is very quiet and makes it great if you are just trying to get away for a weekend escape.
What makes this property unique
Truly a unique view, one of the best on the lake, especially for watching the summer sunsets. Also, great for bird watching. During the summer, the water is calm out front of the most of the time, making it great for water sports. There are many good spots for fishing, either from the dock or out on the water. If it is a little windy, you can go into the channel behind the cottage.
