Slow Mocean Retreat is our super fun vacation home in Gulf Shores, AL, conveniently situated to both the Beach and the Lagoon. Recently built, this home is within walking distance to the beach, trendy eateries, an ice cream shop and a general store to name a few.

Our beach house is managed by me - the homeowner. We do not outsource our guest experience. We strive to offer you the best. We keep everything in great shape and clean with our quarterly vacations to Slow Mocean. We love it here! And you will, too!

Before your stay, we will send you a custom digital guidebook for all the fun in the area - restaurants, water parks, hidden gems, shopping and even the OWA indoor water park! We have scouted out the best for you.

Please No Pets!

This brand new 2000SF home boasts a large living area and four bedrooms, professionally designed and decorated for vacations.

Parking is located under the home for easy access.

There is only one flight of stairs to the main level. Main level contains the living and kitchen areas, along with a king primary bedroom and en-suite full bathroom. This main level space is super convenient for the entire group to relax in the family room or on the decks.

Upstairs are two king primary bedrooms, each with a full en-suite bath. The third bedroom has four twin beds, set up as bunks, with its private bathroom as well. The full sized clothes washer and dryer are on this level.

Three balconies offer plenty of space to relax with your favorite beverage!

We offer 2 SUPs, beach chairs, rolling cooler, beach toys, and an outside shower for easy clean-up. We love this beach home, and you will too!

The pool is right across the cobblestone driveway. The benefit of a small community - only four other houses share this pool.

The very popular Beach House Kitchen and Cocktails, ice cream shop, general store and liquor store are located within walking distance. Tip: eat on the patio at The Beach House! We love their patio!

Bring your own passwords for streaming services.

Since the house is on stilts, there are 18 steps to get to the main level.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the premises.

Pets are not allowed on the premises. This is our family home and our son is extremely allergic. Please no pets of any kind.

Please be aware of weather conditions during your stay. We are not responsible for power outages, internet outages or maintaining the conditions of the roads, decks and driveways in the event of rain, hurricanes, storms, etc.

A/C must be set to Auto to prevent it from freezing up. Max cooling temp is set to 68 degrees.

We offer a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towel roll, shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap. We unfortunately cannot offer beach towels or food stuff basics, so please make sure you have those.

Trash service runs on Mondays and Thursdays. The trash service will bring the cans to the curb and back.

The grill must remain on the ground level due to fire safety regulations. Please do not move it to the balcony or deck. Please do not move or relocate indoor or outdoor furniture.

Please be aware of the flag warning system for the beach conditions.

Yellow: Medium hazard, moderate surf and or currents
Green: Low Hazard, clam conditions, exercise caution
Purple: Dangerous marine life

We cannot offer refunds for inclement weather, power outages, internet outages, COVID, extenuating circumstances, hurricanes, or other acts of God.

Nice roomy place

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the place is. We took four teenagers and three adults and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. It's an easy way all to the beach. It also has several nice patio decks. Large kitchen was great ady to feed many.

Overall property was as represented online. Property was clean and well maintained. Liked having a separate bathroom for each bedroom. Location is good with easy access to the beach. Beach items (chairs, kids toys and etc) are a plus.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider this location again in our future travels.

Beautiful property!

This house was great for multiple families! Very clean and spacious and very short walk to the beach! We came down for a cheer competition and didn’t get to spend much time at the beach but the few moments we did, it was nice being close. We would definitely stay here again!

Kristi is an amazing host-super quick at reaponding to any questions. The home is beautiful and in a great location. Each couple in our family had their own bedroom and en suite bath. The bunk room was perfect for the kids and also had an ensuite bath. There were games and also some great puzzles that were thorougly enjoyed. It's a convenient walk to the beach-love the wagon to cart all the fun beach things and also walking distance to The Beach House restaurant, ice cream shop, seafood shop, and mini mart. Highly recommend-you wont be disappointed!

Super Stay at Slow Mocean

Our family loved staying at this property. It is beautifully decorated which made everyone feel at home. A nice feature was that each couple had their own bathroom. Additionally, the availability of the beach chairs, umbrella, and wagon were an extra bonus. Thus was the perfect place for our stay at Gulf Shores! I highly recommend this home away from home!!

The property was perfect for a quick family beach “ attitude adjustment “. Spacious and tastefully decorated, our group of 7 had everything we needed for a couple of days of relaxation. The beds we’re comfortable, Wi-Fi worked great and everyone with their own bathroom was an added bonus. A short 10 minute walk to the beach. We would definitely book again.

Perfect Place to stay in Gulf Shores

Playa Paradise Retreat is top-notch. The home is very clean, well appointed, beautifully decorated, comfortable, and in the perfect location. It is a very short walk to the beach. There are Lifeguards on duty close by the access point to the beach, which was great! The pool was a great bonus to relax in. The games were awesome for the kids, and the home is very kid-friendly. It is located close by a lot of good places to eat, the West Beach Coffee House is a must! The Dizzy Turtle Latte was a perfect start to a perfect stay! Kristi is very easy to communicate with and responded very quickly to our questions. Will definitely stay there again!

Great house - perfect for families!

A friend and I took our children (ages 2, 4, 8, 11) to the beach and stayed at this awesome beach house. It was decorated beautifully and so homey! It worked perfect for all of the kids, regardless of age. A great house in a great central location, within close walking distance to the beach. Host was extremely responsive and accommodating. Would stay here again!

Let me summarize our stay with two main points. First, our contact person and I think the owner of the property was simply outstanding. I had a couple of questions before we arrived and she responded to me immediately. We never had any problems with the home so there was no reason to contact her during our stay. Second, the property was was exactly as it was presented online. It was clean, spacious, and everything we needed during our stay was there. A great experience. Good people, great location, fantastic property.

Great family vacation at this VRBO

We really enjoyed our family stay and vacation at this VRBO. The house was very clean, convenient to the beach, lagoon and a strip shopping center with store and restaurants. Plenty of beach accessories are at the unit including a wagon, cooler and umbrellas. There were even 2 stand up paddle boards for the lagoon! The owner was helpful and very responsive to any questions during our stay. We look forward to coming back again and enjoy another relaxing week at Gulf Shores in the future.

2 summer to stay!

We absolutely fell in love with our first stay here last summer and now to come back and stay again truly made a place in our core memory bank. Our children always have enough room to run around as well as the comfortable environment to nap on their schedule. We love that the home is always so clean, accommodates our family meal time and the community pool below helps keep the kiddos busy after a Long Beach day when they aren’t ready to come in just yet. Fantastic property and great management. Count on us to continue to return each year!

Property was very clean and comfortable! Starter toiletries and kitchen items, so will need to buy what you need after that. Host quickly responded to all of our questions. Beach items were very convenient so we didn’t need to bring much ourselves! 5 min walk to the beach. Popular public beach, so get there early if you want a close spot. 4 legged tents/canopies have to go at the back of beach area. Paddle boards were fun to take out on the lagoon- they are a bit heavy, 2 adults could carry to the put in location about 5 minute walk, but we ended up driving them down.

Wow! Absolutely amazing! We walked in and were simply blown away by the property. Such beauty mixed with functionality! Perfect for 2 families to vacation together. A little longer to the beach but worth the walk which was made easier by the host providing a sand wagon plus anything you need for a day at the beach like beach chairs, sand toys. All the comforts of home away from home. Highly recommended, walking/driving distance to so many activities, very responsivehost. Fabulous way to spend our week! My only negative is that we all wished the rooms had room darkening curtains as the sun comes up early and brightens the entire home with it's light. Otherwise, nothing but positives!

Great Beach vacation house stocked with lots of beach stuff!!!!

Such a great house and lots of attention to detail. An easy walk to the beach, a small convenience store, the lagoon, and a great restaurant! The rooms were perfect - large comfy king sized beds with separate bathrooms plus one room with bunkbeds; multiple outside deck areas include ones off some of the bedrooms. The living room was large with more seating than we needed for our 6 adults. The dining table had seating for 8 and was perfect for eating and playing games. Kitchen was fully stocked with appliances, plates, etc and they included plenty of bathtowels for a week! Loved all the things for the beach -- the wagon, the net, the chairs, the umbrellas. My guys used the paddleboards on the lagoon and had fun. Thank you so much for hosting us! Hope we can come back next year!

Slow Mocean was clean and new!

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 year old and one year old, my parents, and my grandmother. It was a great fit for us! The house is very clean and modern. Every room had a bathroom and nice tv. Kitchen was nice and open. Because of having small children and my grandmother with us we drove to the beach very easily and parked at public beach access which is right around the corner from the condo. Would’ve been an easy walk if we didn’t have kids. The beach closet is very nice to utilize. They had beach chairs, toys, wagon, paddle boards, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc. We didn’t use the paddle boards but was nice to have available if you wanted to use them. You are also right around the corner from waves convenient store, ice cream, and beach house restaurants. Could’ve easily walked to any of those. My son really enjoyed the arcade in the bunk room. We easily put a pack n play up for our 1 year old. It could’ve easily fit in any of the rooms. Very nice overall!!
