Fairfield beach house
The property was largely as-advertised and owner provided some helpful information in advance of check-in. That said, a few things to keep in mind:
- The beachfront is quite small at this end of Fairfield Beach Road and the water comes up under the house during high tide
- The property has an infestation of ladybugs (or Asian lady beetles - v hard to tell which), which are all over the ceiling of the living room, sun room and upstairs bathroom. Harmless bugs but the property could easily be improved with a visit from Terminix or Orkin
- Most importantly, the AC works well but the house could use a duct cleaning. This typically costs a homeowner $200 but would materially improve the air quality and reduce the dust in the air from the unclean vents. My wife and I both developed throat irritations and sinus issues during our stay, which immediately cleared up two or three hours after we got back to our home. The issue was bad enough that we almost left a night early
All around, a nice location and was nice to have a change of scenery while waking up to the ocean out your window. And the bug and dust/cleanliness issues are things that could be easily addressed.
