Flora's home is a traditional house in the beautiful village Damalas that is spread in amphitheatric fashion at the foot of Lagos hill in the valley of Tragea, is visible from many other locations on the island and offers fantastic views.
The house constist of two floors. The first floor has fully equiped kitchen ,a dining area and one balcony. The upper floor has one bedroom, one bathroom and one balcony.
Damalas village is 15km from Naxos main town Chora and the most famous beaches of the island.Presently inhabitants have restored their old olive mill and hold an annual event showcasing the traditional method of olive oil extraction.
The village of Damalas, in common with the entire Tragea valley, also has a strong tradition in pottery due to the clayey soil in the area. The pottery workshop of Manolis Lybertas continues a centuries-old tradition.
The parish church of Agia Irini, built around 1800, features an elaborate marble iconostatis and a singular marble font.
In only 3km you will find the beautiful village Chalki where you can visit the mansion of the Vallindra Kitron distillery at the heart of the village.Here you'll find tranditional coffee shops and supermarket. In 5km you'll find Filoti village , there the main square is surrounded by cafes, traditional restaurants and a variety of retail outlets. An imposing plane tree dominates the square’s center.
The Panagia (Virgin Mary) Filotitissa church is also located here.
