A wonderful Get Away

This was an amazing place to book. Clean, great location and plenty of space for our little family. The kids enjoyed the yard and the adults enjoyed the patio would definitely stay at this property again.

Our family booked this house somewhat last minute, and we were so pleased with everything. The house was perfect for our needs - great fenced in yard for our dog, beds were comfortable, everything we needed for a great vacation. Location was great! Oak Island in the summer is amazing!!

We had a great time at this home! Really enjoyed the outdoor spaces and the closeness of the beach (3min driving) and the ample parking once there. The home is beautiful inside and has all the amenities you need. Being pet-friendly was a bonus, especially with a fenced yard! Would DEF stay here again!

Wonderful place!

We loved staying here and out of all the places we have stayed, this one was one of the cleanest and most accommodating. Everything we needed was available, the outside shower was a huge bonus, everything was clean and well kept, the beds were comfortable, communication was quick and the whole process was easy. Really thankful for our time here and we plan to return!

Quiet and Uncrowded with Nice Weather

Overall it was a nice restful stay, but it didn't have much in the way of entertainment except one Putt-Putt.and about 20 restaurants.and sports bars. The beach was nice, with few people.

Fun Beach Stay with our Furbabies (dogs)

We went back for our anniversary to Oak Island where we got married. We wanted to bring our dogs with us this time and this house was perfect if you want to bring them. It’s in a great location and even the walk to the beach from house was enjoyable. The fence in yard was perfect for them. We had one issue with the smoke alarm battery needing to be changed and got a response right away with it fixed within a hour. Definitely will be back with our dogs when we want to visit again !

Sandy Paws us better than advertised

From the cute beach bungalow feeling upon entry to the dog friendly set up, Sandy Paws is the perfect home base for a beach getaway with kids, dogs or both. The house is well kept & homey. There are even games should your stay have a rainy day. The kitchen has ample pots & pans, plates & cups. The back yard is perfect for relaxing or grilling a burger or steak on the provided grill while the dogs play tug o war or enjoy some zoomies. Highly recommend & look forward ti our next stay.

Our stay at Sandy Paws was fantastic. It’s the perfect home away from home, fully equipped kitchen, very comfortable bed in the master bedroom, and having a washer and dryer to use are just some of the things that made this place one if the best we’ve stayed at. The fenced in backyard was great for out special needs dog as well. Would definitely stay at Sandy paws again.

New years with our family!

The property was exactly as described. It was wonderful to be able to have a place for our dog to freely roam. The fenced in backyard combined with the sunroom made it extremely easy to manage. The kitchen was well equipped and the comfy livingroom furniture gave us all a nice place to be together. The location was central to everything we needed. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

Great week

Spent the week here with my wife, 6 y/o son, and 3 dogs. The yard was great to have for the dogs and it was nice to be able to sit out on the back porch to drink my morning coffee. There is an outdoor shower which makes rinsing off after getting back from the beach. The house itself and the location were both good as well. We were able to bike to the 40th street beach entrance in about 10 minutes without too many issues and were close enough that we could go to all the major stores on our bikes if we wanted too as well. There were a few issues with the stove while we were there but otherwise the house was really nice. Would absolutely stay here again.

Originally from just north of Charlotte NC, we moved to Oak Island, three years ago because this is truly our happy place! We love everything about the beach from the sand, to the salt water, and all everything in between. We love fishing, swimming and most water activities. We decided to manage our very own VRBO property to provide guests with the vacation experience we always looked for when traveling with our pups.
