About this property

Swim/Bike/Fish- Woodhenge Lodge on Lost Land Lake!

Come experience the pristine shores of Lost Land Lake! With room for up to 16 guests, you'll love sitting in different areas to explore the area by kayak, bike, ski or snowmobile. Later, enjoy our fire ring to toast s'mores. In the winter, head out on the ski or snowmobile trails. We have a fooseball/mini ping pong/mini pool table, as well as a variety of games & puzzles for the indoors, and a wood-burning fireplace (fire wood is provided!) and a cozy gas fireplace. Watch for wandering wildlife, and enjoy cooking meals with family & friends.

Woodhenge Lodge is located on beautiful Lost Land Lake, in Sawyer County, WI. Lost Land Lake is a 1264 acre lake with a maximum depth of 21 feet. Guests can access the lake from a public boat landing just 3 miles away. Fish found in the lake include: Musky, Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Guests staying at Woodhenge Lodge get access to two lakes! Through a channel just a quarter mile away, is Teal Lake, approximately 1000 acres, and with a maximum depth of 31 feet.

Nearest towns:

Cable: 18 miles (25 minutes) where you'll find Rondeau's Grocery/Hardware Store, Rivers Eatery Pizza, Velo Cafe, Cable Natural History Museum, Redbery Books & more fun shops!

Hayward: 25 miles (35 minutes) where you'll find Marketplace Foods, Walmart, Lumberjack World Championships, Mini Golf, Wilderness Walk (great for kids in the summer months!), and Main Street with shopping, including ice cream, Tremblay's Candy, Main Street Tacos, and more!

Both Lost Land Lake & Teal Lake are "Quiet Lake" and no water craft are allowed to go over 10mph at any time. Pontoons & Fishing boats are welcome! For boat rentals, we recommend Round Lake Marina, Hayward Power Sports, and Bear Country Rentals. With a dock of 30+ feet, there is plenty of room to park your boat(s) or to sit and watch for loons & other wildlife, including the nesting blue herons!

Come swim, kayak, canoe, SUP or use the privided Maui Mat off our dock in the summer, and go ice fishing out on the lake in the winter! The water off our dock is clear and is a stone/sand mix, as seen in the pictures. The water gently slopes out, and is 3-4 feet deep at the end of the dock.

Area Activities:

Runners or Mountain Bikers: Head out the front door, down the quiet lake road, or check out nearby Wilson Lake Trailhead (about 5 miles) or Rock Lake Trailhead (about 12 miles) which are mountain bike trails that double as running trail. Just a bit further (about 25 minutes) are the trails off Telemark Road, Birkie Start, North End & Birkie Ridge.

XC Skiers: For Classic-only trails, check out Rock Lake Trailhead, or cut your own trail out on the lake if the conditions allow. For Skate trails, head to Cable, and go to the Birkie Start Line, North End Trailhead or Birkie Ridge (all about 25 minutes) or to Hwy OO (17 miles/30 minutes).

ATV/UTV/Snowmobilers: As per Spider Lake Township rules, no ATV/UTV/Snowmobile is allowed on town roads, except from the rnd if the druveway to the nearest trail crossing (approx 400’) however they ARE welcome and there are hundreds of miles of trails at your fingertips. We recommend downloading Polaris Ride Command App to see all the available trails and parking trail heads. This is a wonderful way to explore our area and see the winter beauty that brings many people to the area! Our driveway is long and single lane, and can be challenging but doable, depending on your trailer size.

Bird Watching: Just about 5 miles away is Lynch Creek Birding area! Bring your binoculars, pick up a brochure, and go for a short walk to see what you can find.

Woodhenge Lodge is set up with many wonderful indoor sitting areas, including a main level living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a TV (with Roku) room with a wrap around couch, and an additional sunny sitting room. The downstairs includes a kitchenette, a second TV with Roku with a wrap around couch, a library, and game table for puzzles or board games, as well as a gas fireplace for ambiance! Woodhenge has something around the corner for everyone, for those who want to sit and relax, as well as those who want to get out and explore the area!

On the exterior, Woodhenge Lodge offers a lakeside deck, a screened in porch on the driveway side, a fire ring & a dock with a bench as well. Enjoy over 200 feet of lake front to yourselves when you stay here!

The home features 4 bedrooms plus a loft, as well as 3.5 bathrooms, including a bathtub on the main floor. The master bedroom has a king bed as well as an ensuite half-bath. The lower level has 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom: One bedroom with a King Bed, one with a Queen bed, and the "bunk room" with a full/twin set of bunk beds, and 2 separate queen beds. Up in the loft is a queen bed along with a pull-out couch with a full mattress, and a full bathroom.

Woodhenge features a variety of antique furniture with new bedding & comfortable spaces!

It should be noted that Woodhenge Lodge offers guests a retreat in the woods, where you can find peace and solitude without today's busy interruptions, but it is a bit from the nearest grocery or convenience store, so we do recommend planning accordingly!

There is a small 4 cabin resort on the next property over that can be seen through the woods, but does not share any spaces with Woodhenge Lodge.

In the winter months, we have parking for 4+ vehicles. In the summer months, we have parking for 6+ vehicles.

Guests with trailers will find plenty of parking in the summer, but in the winter, it may be helpful to check with us first to be sure you can navigate if you have a sizable trailer.

For boat rentals, we recommend checking with Bear Country Rentals, Round Lake Marina and Hayward Power Sports.

Excellent views, clean, spacious, well stocked
This property is very spacious, clean, and stocked abundantly with supplies you might need for your getaway. The views of the lake were excellent and the area was relaxing and peaceful. The provided kayaks, canoe and Maui mat were great additions to our stay. Alyssa was a responsive host and had great communication prior to and during our stay!

Perfect getaway
This cabin has a lot going for it. It is on a nice quiet lake where you can have peace and quiet to enjoy the outdoors. The view is to the west which gives you beautiful views of the sunsets. The dock and lakeside are nice for keeping your boat and for swimming. Not to mention that the amenities of the cabin are perfect. There is plenty of space for the kids to have their area and the adults to have theirs as well as great common areas to crest memories. We will be returning, that’s for sure!
