Great ocean view

Beautiful spot with lovely view on private beach and lovely warm pool. Daily cleaning happened day 1 and never again. Fridge was old and dirty on outside. Overall not as high end as expected and host did not respond to a couple of messages.

Great Family Vacation

Our family of 6 stayed at Las Penas for a week in March. The condo was perfect for two young children (ages 4 and 6), their parents and grandparents in their 70s. The apartment was spacious and clean. While outside most of the day, we spent our “indoor” time mainly on the terrace -- eating meals, reading books, and watching the waves, animals, and people. We spotted whales, dolphins, and rays right from our balcony! It was great to have a our own apartment with the benefits of hotel services (daily cleaning, front desk, a restaurant in house). Las Penas location was perfect for us. It was quiet and away from the bustle of the city, yet very easy to catch the local bus or a taxi into town, 15-20 minutes away. We loved the heated pools and easy access to the beach. We had a few days of perfectly calm water that made for excellent swimming, and a few days of rough seas and big waves that prohibited swimming. On calm days we saw kayaking and snorkeling trips come to explore “our” beach. It was easy to quickly get a taxi cab from the taxi stand at the hotel next-door. We were a short taxi ride from the zoo and a bit further away from the Puerto Vallarta botanical gardens which are fabulous. Although the restaurant at Las Penas closes in the late afternoon, we were able to dine at hotel restaurants a short walk away. We also utilized our kitchen for many meals. We highly recommend this beachfront condo.
