About this property

Cabin in North Georgia Mtns, Firepit, Mins. to Clayton

Come experience the North Georgia Mountains!

Summer's End is a traditional Appalachian-style cabin on three private acres bordered by two small streams. You’ll be five miles from Historic Downtown Clayton, close to hiking trails, kayaking, waterfalls, state parks, lakes, and the countless other ways to experience Rabun County.

Summer's End Cabin is a special place for a family getaway, girls' weekend, or romantic escape!

The space
Check out our Insta for more photos, videos and last minute availability. @summersendcabin

We’d love it if you tag us in photos from your trip, too!

Living Room
Smart TV, space to lounge around the wood-burning fireplace, a desk to work if you must. Cathedral ceilings give the place charm and an open feeling.

Wi-Fi supports most functions but might not be as fast as in town. Please be patient. Netflix might load more slowly than you're used to.

Dining area seats six with additional seating for two at the counter.

Kitchen
We have everything you need to cook throughout your trip; all that’s missing is the chef!

• Brand-new stainless-steel Whirlpool appliances
• Plenty of Pots/Pans/Platters for large meals
• Serving utensils
• Grilling tongs
• Full set of chef knives
• Keurig with complimentary pods
• Oven, stovetop, grill, dishwasher, microwave
• Plates, mugs, glasses, silverware

If you prefer to enjoy the local restaurants instead of cooking, we support that, too!

Bedroom 1
Main floor bedroom has a king bed, a TV, and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower with Schluter shower system.

Pro-tip: We have found that this TV is convenient for parents who like to catch up on their favorite shows after their children are tucked into the upstairs sleeping loft.

Bedroom 2
Upstairs bedroom has a king bed and a full bathroom.

Sleeping Loft
Two twin beds are nestled in the loft overlooking the living room.

Outdoors
A grill and two separate porches allow several outdoor options for enjoying the beauty of the mountains and the company of your loved ones.

Our fire pit is the perfect opportunity for roasting marshmallows and telling campfire stories.

Parking
The privacy of the space is due to Summer's End's perch at the top of a long gravel drive; while it gets a bit slick when it rains you should be fine without 4WD. Parking for up to three cars.

Things to Do
We love North Georgia and sharing recommendations for things to do! Please check out our electronic guidebook for ideas and message us if you have any questions.

KIDS – This is a special cabin for children to explore, just follow basic safety as wildlife is abundant in the area! There are games (board, not video) for children to play and cozy nooks to curl up with a book, and we hope your children create special memories here. We do ask that you include your children in your headcount. While they are absolutely welcome, please note that this space has not been baby proofed.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire house, make yourself at home! We are available to answer any questions and help make your stay a five-star experience. Please reach out if you need anything.

Our house rules are strictly enforced in order to keep Summer's End Cabin a special place for you to visit again and again. If the house rules are broken, we will ask you to immediately leave with no refund and you will be charged for damage and repairs.

We are on a SEPTIC TANK - flush only toilet paper or things will get ugly.

INTERNET-Wi-fi is available, and will support most functions like streaming Netflix and Zoom calls. Typical speeds are between 22-28 MBPS. In other words, instead of a movie loading in under 2 seconds at home, it may take a few minutes... Please remember we are in the mountains and be patient if connection is a bit slower than you’re used to. If you have a Very Important Video Meeting, consider scheduling it when you aren't at the cabin just to be safe.

SMOKING-No smoking or vaping in the cabin or on the porches. We ask that any smoking or vaping be done in the driveway or at the firepit. Note that we will assess a $200 fee for smoking on any of the porches. They are all wood. It is a fire hazard and the wood absorbs the smell.

PETS - We do not allow any pets. No exceptions. We know you love your dog, cat, or lizard, and we probably would too! Just not as a guest at Summer's End at this time. Please do not lie that you have a service animal, it makes life hard for those who truly rely on them.

If you really need to pet an animal during your stay, we recommend a visit to Goats on the Roof!

PARTIES – No gatherings at the house. We want you to enjoy your time, but ask that only the guests listed in your reservation enjoy this special home due to our official occupancy and insurance restrictions. We have a Ring camera (no security cameras inside) and will have to ask you to leave if we see any shenanigans.

GUESTS - Only guests listed on your reservation are welcome. Local restrictions are very strict and unregistered guests are a violation of our license. If guests NOT listed on your reservation are present at any time, you will be immediately asked to leave with no refund AND an additional cleaning fee may be issued.

PARKING - You must park in the driveway. You cannot park on Lovell Lane. It is a one lane road with insufficient space.

CARE OF PROPERTY - Our cleaning fee goes directly to our cleaning team to ensure that the property is clean and sanitized when you arrive. We ask that you leave it in the condition in which you find it, so please clean up after yourself (of course, we don't expect you to sanitize). This includes not leaving food on the floor, in the beds, or on the table, not using our countertop as a cutting board, and generally treating the space with respect.

Please ensure that your children do not color on the walls, bedding, or furniture or place food on the record player. Please ONLY use woven outdoor blankets outside, all others must remain inside. If you use our hiking stick, please return it.

Things like that. Unfortunately, these have all occurred so now we have to ask.

CHECK-IN and CHECK-OUT - Check-in is 4:00pm EST and Check-out is 10:00am EST. We often have tight turnarounds and need this time to properly prepare the cabin for our next guests. If we are able to accommodate an early or late check-in with prior agreement, a fee will be assessed. Guests will not be allowed to access the property early without prior permission, and guests who are on property after 10:05 will have a fee assessed as access beyond the check-in and check-out time counts as unauthorized access to the property.

Lovely Property, Beware Bees
Pros: Beautiful decor, clean for the most part, private feeling location not too far from a grocery store. Very accommodating hosts that made their expectations clear and renting easy. As someone always picky about bedrooms and bathrooms in a rental, the sheets were very clean and the bathrooms were modern with a cottage charm. Overall lovely and Positively dreamy when it rained Cons: There is a carpenter bee and wasp issue on the front porch. The wood of the cabin is not properly sealed, the first floor bedroom we had 3 instances of Wasps squeezing through the cracks to join us in the room. Oven and toaster probably need a deep clean or the alarms adjusted, they both set off the fire alarms before cooking even. Open the windows and crank the fan to help, keep on the screens though to avoid more bees. Neutral: Also heads up the driveway is steep gravel but they send you directions to help prepare you. The directions made us worry but upon getting there it wasn't nearly as bad as expected. Easy to get up as long as you follow their guidance, even for Floridians used to flat flat land haha.

Perfect getaway spot for girls' weekend
We absolutely love the cabin. It's close enough to downtown Clayton which has some really good restaurants and shops. Also 2 wineries are very close. The cabin is cozy and well stocked. We loved the decor. The porches are great for sitting with a cup of coffee in the morning. Beds were super comfortable. I highly recommend Summers End!
