We had all we needed at the property and liked the access to the state park nearby We only wish we there when the Butteville Grocery was open so that we could have enjoyed some music.
This is an historic house that the proprietor of the Butteville store originally lived in. It has been totally restored keeping the historic charm with modern necessities. Close to town and on the edge of the Champoeg park system and wine country. We couldn't have been happier with our stay here.
Very clean and cozy home, will definitely try to book same home when we are in town! The only thing we had problems with were the locks in the interior and the remote control of the tv even after changing batteries!

Sorry to hear you had trouble with the locks on the doors inside the house. We have tried to keep some of the historical characteristics of the house with our modern remodel. The keys for each lock are handing on a string on the inside of the doors. Hope you come and see us again.
Thanks
Emily
Beautiful home. We rented both levels and had a ton of room to spread out. The teens loved walking to the nearby store for ice cream. The only downside was the bedroom and bathroom doors didn't lock (that we could figure out).

Thank you Bryan for your comments and so glad you enjoyed the area around our home. As we tried to keep some of the historical characteristics of the home when we renovated we have realized that locks on the doors wasn’t something they had back in the early 1900’s. We are working on getting locks on all the bathrooms and bedrooms. Please come visit our home again.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful vacation rental property, and I can't say enough about how fantastic our experience was! From start to finish, everything was just perfect, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.
I cannot thank the host enough for their warm hospitality and for providing us with an unforgettable vacation. If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind, and create lasting memories, this is the perfect destination.
I will undoubtedly be returning and recommending this gem to all my friends and family.
Five stars all the way!
We were in the area for my sister-in-law’s celebration of life so it was a difficult time for us. However being able to stay in this lovely home made it much better. Everything was as listed. However I didn’t read as carefully as I should have. This unit is on the second floor and we made lots of trips up and down.
All in all we had a great time and would love to return but probably on the first floor.
Not as described, not clean, not what we had hoped for
The property was marketed as an entire house even though there are three separate units in the house. The walls are so thin you can hear everything the neighbors are saying. The downstairs neighbors woke us up each morning before 6 am discussing who would be showering first and what their morning plans would be. The property was very dirty, musty and had bugs and spiders throughout. There were no extra blankets and it was just not comfortable. We left very tired and miserable from our stay with little ones who got very little sleep, Would not recommend.

Very sorry to hear about your stay. The description of the house is clear in the listing that this is a home with 2 units (not 3) and has separate entrances and living space, nothing is shared except for the parking, in which there is plenty of parking. VRBO does not offer a split level home with separate units as an option. You have house, apartment, condo, studio. This is why the description indicates that this is the upstairs unit.
Surprise 1 .We stayed in the Upper Unit of the house. (Somehow I missed the fact the there were two units). It was plenty big enough for 6 adults and 2 teens.
Surprise 2. There was everything there you could want. The kitchen was fully stocked with any dish, pot, pan, baking dish, cooking tool, dish towels hot pot, Keurig and omg Coffee. Sorry we drank it all. Paper towels, garbage bags. Extra pillows and blankets. Even Kleenex. We brought little with us besides our clothing and food.
Surprise 3. Beautiful side yard with seating and a place large enough for the volleyball/badminton net.
Surprise 4. A sheet of notes with local attractions. The Butteville store was magical. Hopefully, you will run into Kate, one of the employees. So fun and informative. Saturday we sat on the patio, had a beverage and listened to 3 guys play music for free, even though there was a private party happening under the tents. It really is only a 2 minute walk from the house.
Surprise 5. We walked to the old dock. It really was 5 minutes from the house. Some of us went farther to Champoeg Park. Butteville is an enchanting little village and we will stay there again when we are in the area.
This property served our purpose perfectly! My 2 friends and I each had our own bedroom, the living space was plenty large enough to spread out, and my daughter was able to get ready for her wedding there! Since the home is located 5 minutes from Champoeg State Park, our wedding venue, the location was very convenient (although unplanned, wedding food was prepared and stored at the house). Also, we used to teach with the owner of The Butteville General Store, so that was our first stop after getting into the area! We highly recommend their excellent sandwiches and unique and delicious homemade ice cream! Although we didn’t have time to use them, thanks for the excellent selection of current books and the game options! Quality place! If the opportunity arose, we would jump at the chance to stay here again!
This beautiful home was clean, spacious and comfortable for my family of 8, including 4 grandchildren. We explored Champoeg State Park, picked blueberries and peaches, and ate lots of ice cream at the Butteville General Store. Our host was responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful time.
