About this property

Buffalo Cabin - Private Pond, Kayaks, Fire Pit on 150 Acres

Tucked away in nature, this peaceful one-room cabin is the perfect little escape from the busy world. Surrounded by trees and sitting near a quiet pond, it’s a place to slow down, breathe deep, and just enjoy being outside.

You’ll have access to 150 acres to wander—whether you want to hike, bike, fish, or just relax and take it all in. Feel free to take a dip in the pond, float around in a kayak, or explore the creek. There’s a private dock for unwinding, a cozy front porch for sunrise coffee or sunset views, and your own fire pit to wind down at the end of the day. Nights are quiet and peaceful out here, with very little light pollution - perfect for enjoying an uninhibited view of the stars. This space is all yours when you stay at Buffalo Cabin.

There’s also a shared pavilion and a larger fire pit on the property if you feel like mixing things up a bit. Kayaks are available for a little adventure or a lazy float.

You’ll likely meet some of the friendly animals that call this place home too—goats, mini cows, a potbelly pig, chickens, cats, and a sweet, friendly dog.

Inside, the cabin is set up to keep things simple and comfortable. We’ve got you covered with linens, towels, pillows, blankets, a mini fridge, mini stove, microwave, pots and pans, dishes, cups, and silverware.

A few quick notes: fishing is catch-and-release, the waterfall depends on rainfall, a waiver is required at the start of your stay, and please no smoking inside the cabin.

This is a country setting, so you may experience bugs, wildlife, or changing weather - it's all part of the charm out here!

This is such an amazingly beautiful place to relax. I took a solo trip to get some R&R and it was definitely what I needed. I had the pleasure of having the Ranch Dog Denali stay with me the first night and take a morning walk with me the next day. An absolutely gorgeous place and wonderful experience. The Hosts were amazing and made check in and out simple. Highly recommend a stay at Stone Ranch.

We had a truly wonderful stay and cannot recommend this place highly enough. The views were absolutely breathtaking, but what made our trip unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality. The owners went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, while still giving us complete privacy. A special highlight was the farm animals, which our daughter absolutely loved. We left with beautiful memories and cannot wait to return!

Celebrating 23rd birthday we just wanted a quick getaway for the weekend. We had so much fun kayaking, riding around in a golf cart, fishing, and connecting with the outdoors. The WiFi was not really working but that wasn’t a problem for us since it’s not what we came for. The cabin was very cozy and quiet. I would recommend renting a golf cart if you don’t want to do a lot of walking. This was a great experience and we will be coming back!

Peaceful

My husband and I stayed in the Buffalo cabin for a quick last-minute weekend away. The cabin was cozy with everything you would need and having our own fire pit was the best. We loved how peaceful it all was and really enjoyed our stay.

Perfect place to get away!

Our stay was perfect! The property is beautiful and the cabin was clean (and adorable!!!). Scott and Carrie are so friendly and inviting. The ranch dog, Denali, is an absolute angel and we loved hanging out with her. I would recommend this property to others and hope to visit again in the future.

Nice little cabin

I nice little cabin with a tin roof. The futon sleeps two better than I thought it would! Good enough amenities make for a pleasant stay and the AC works well. Loved the dog that roams the property too.

Relax and romance at the Buffalo

Cabin was perfect for a couples getaway. We felt very secluded and private. Cabin had everything we needed to get through our stay. Of course bring your own food and refreshments but it had the necessities. Denali and our pooch Merlot got along great!!! We are already planning our trip back.

Beautiful property, serene, awesome hosts

I booked this property for a personal silent retreat. It was perfect. At only two hours outside of Kansas City, it was a great driving distance for a Fri-Mon trip. The host was easy to get ahold of, friendly, and professional. The property is incredible! The 150 acres is like a huge park that is just your own! Will return for sure! Thank you for a great trip!

Lovely!

I really enjoyed my stay. So much so that I'm going back! And my dogs seemed comfortable there, too. It would be nice if there was some more shade at the cabin, but it is in a Kansas field. LOL Overall, a great stay and the owners were very responsive to any questions I had. Denali is great, too!

About the host

Hosted by Scott Stone

Host profile image

We’re local to the area and love spending time outdoors, which is what inspired us to create Buffalo Cabin. We’ve always wanted a simple, peaceful place where people can slow down, enjoy nature, and take a break from the busy day-to-day.

We enjoy being hosts because we love sharing this little piece of land with others and knowing people get to make memories here—whether that’s relaxing by the water, exploring the property, or just enjoying the quiet.

We try to give guests their space but are always nearby if you need anything.

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because of the wide open space, water, and peaceful surroundings. It’s not your typical neighborhood—it’s quiet, natural, and full of little things to enjoy, from the pond and creek to the animals on the property.

It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, spread out, and feel like you’ve truly gotten away for a bit.

What makes this property unique

We created Buffalo Cabin as a quiet place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors. What started as a simple spot by the pond has turned into something we love sharing with others.

We spend a lot of time here ourselves and have tried to keep it peaceful, comfortable, and connected to nature. From the animals on the property to the water and wide open space, it's a place to unplug and just be.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
