Cozy upper level, one-bedroom apartment located at a small marina called Chut’s Boat Landing. Chut’s Boat Landing is nuzzled in the beautiful back sloughs of the Mississippi River. From the windows and deck you can see incredible river views, sunsets and local wildlife. Tournament Fishing hot spot right outside your door and just a short drive to downtown La Crosse, restaurants, hiking, and Mt. La Crosse Ski Area and Pro Shop.

What a beautiful home in a beautiful place! Accommodations were wonderful…deck, washer/dryer, bathroom, view. Great location…close to grocery store, restaurants, downtown shops and water front. Emily, the host was helpful and easy to work with! Truly enjoyed our stay and if we are ever in the area again would love to return.

This was our second time staying at Emily’s place. Same great spot this time around. Emily & Rick were super responsive and helpful. It’s well appointed with everything we needed.It’s great for just a couple (maybe my partner and I will get out here again just the two of us one of these days) or for a family (we were three, two adults plus a teen). I appreciated the fact that the deck has a ceiling fan (which helped me have some peaceful, mosquito free time on the beautiful deck)!

Great small place

Perfect size place for what we needed. We were in town for state track, this was a short drive to the track and close to plenty of food options. Nice and clean. We had a little trouble with the door, but called and got a quick response. Very happy overall.

Homecoming in lacrosse

We had a wonderful time. This house was so accommodating to us and so nice and clean. Absolutely wonderful time and enjoyed the peace and quiet and views of the boats on the water. Thank you to our wonderful hostess Miss Emily. You thought of everything. We will be back!

The owners have done a good job of anticipating the needs of their guests, from snacks to toothbrushes. They were fixing the hot water while we were there. The hot water now works great. We appreciated the use of their kayaks. They also allowed us to use the garage. Very thoughtful and friendly people. We will definitely stay there again!

Emily was amazing and thoughtful in every way. Bedroom was large, love the surround sound, kitchen and bathroom had everything we could need and more. Although it was too cold to use the deck, it looked amazing to sit out and look at the river. Make sure to bring good shoes to load and unload your vehicle cause getting to it could be scarey especially with ice and snow but totally worth it. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Hidden Gem

Highly recommend this property, even for families! I wouldn’t say this is completely open concept, more semi-private…the bedroom is on the opposite side of the wall from the main space, just a cased opening rather than a door. Emily is an amazing host that anticipates the needs of her guests, having many extras on hand. We booked for our family of 4 originally for one of my sons to compete in a tournament on the river. We ended up allowing the other son to bring a friend and also brought our 2 month old foster baby. There was ample space for all 6 of us. The teens had the main room with the sofa bed and air mattress Emily provided. Us parents and the infant had the bedroom, which also has a sitting area, and the deck to ourselves. Though the location of the property is in the town and surrounded by close neighbors, it actually feels very private and secluded once down to the house and on the covered deck. You overlook the boat landing, but that is not disruptive, actually enjoyable and entertaining at times. I rarely heard any noise other than river activity or critters (birds, otters and groundhogs to name a few we watched). The locals that live at the landing are helpful and friendly as well. The view from the house and deck overlooking the river is very relaxing! I am already missing it!! I highly recommend this property and will be back when in the area!

We absolutely loved our stay. We had everything we needed and were pleasantly surprised with all the personal touches provided. We really enjoyed using the kayaks provided and the views of the river were fantastic. From the outside the place doesn’t look great but once you step inside it’s so nice. Great communication with the host.

What a great place! Emily, the host, was so friendly and accommodating. At the last minute we were able to add on two days to our stay which was so helpful. The apartment is located in such a beautiful spot - we loved sitting outside on the covered deck, surrounded by trees, looking out at the water. It was so clean and cute - so glad we found it and will definitely stay there again!

We loved this little apartment on the Mississippi. Private, quiet, comfortable with great views of the river. This was the perfect place for a relaxing get-a-way for my husband and me. Close proximity to downtown and plenty of room and cozy spaces if we just wanted to stay in. We enjoyed hiking at nearby Grandad’s Bluff and across the river at Great River Bluff State Park. Took a riverboat cruise and ate some great food at Buzzard Billy’s and Tokyo Fusion. We also spent lots of time on the porch over looking the river drinking coffee and playing board/card games. Thanks for a wonderful weekend. Highly recommend!

Amazing place! Perfect for our fishing adventures!Was clean, well maintained, and had all the necessary amenities. Great view of the river and marina. Emily was great to communicate with. I had worries about bringing a boat, and I asked a TON of questions, and she was so helpful and very open to question. The property was clean and beautiful. I suggest a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking the water!

Lacrosse weekend river stay

We stayed here over UWL graduation weekend. I choose this as it was close to everything, on the river, and we did not have to share space with anyone. The place was very clean and super cute inside. The owner gave me easy instructions and was easily available by phone when I needed to call. I would highly recommend this place!!

LOVELY property right on the water

We loved Emily’s place for many reasons. It was a lovely getaway. Quiet, on the water, spacious, clean. We enjoyed taking a kayak out in the early morning, which is such a nice perk. Location feels tucked away but it’s really conveniently located. Emily was a lovely host—responsive and gave us some great recommendations. Would definitely love to come back.

My husband, 3 daughters and I are self-proclaimed “River Rats” and we love to share our passion with all those around us. As lovers of the mighty Mississippi River, it has been a dream of ours to own a Marina. That dream came true in December of 2021, when we purchased a small marina called Chut’s Boat Landing. With the marina came a home. We worked diligently to fix it up and are slowly turning it into two units. Currently the upper unit is ready to be rented out and we would love for you to stay with us.
