Studio apartment overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River

This studio apartment overlooks the beautiful Mississippi River in Brownsville MN, in pool 8. It has a living room, full kitchen, private bath & sleeping area (2 queen beds). It has a private access & room to bring and park your bass boat. Charging batteries possible. Along with a fully equipped kitchen is access to a gas grill for cooking your meals. WIFI is included.

There are two boat launches within minutes of this rental. We are also located along an MRT biking highway. Eagles, pelicans, swans and other river wild life are frequently seen around this location throughout various points of the year.

Situated in a driftless region,this area is home to scenic bluffs and valleys with gorgeous views from both Minnesota and Wisconsin. We are 15 min from downtown La Crosse, WI, 15 miles from New Albin, and 27 miles from Lansing, IA. The area also boasts wonderful trout streams for fly fishing enthusiasts. White tail deer and Eastern wild turkeys make their home here and offer memory making hunting and/or scouting opportunities for interested individuals.

This apartment is along Mississippi Pool 8 area. There are many local and major league (Bass Master Elite, Bass Master Open and Major League Fishing) fishing tournaments in this pool during the summer months.

This apartment was completed as a vacation rental as of March 31, 2018 and has been full with people from Florida to Rhode Island,, from Washington to London, Beijing to London and even locals, living 10 minutes away, wanting a night away from home. It is a truly beautiful and peaceful rural location with quick access to a bigger city and all the options you expect to find there. You may see, and hear, barges and/or trains going up and down the river hauling their loads. (The train crossings are over a mile away, so their horns can be heard, but most guests indicate they are not too intrusive. )

Great Place

We had a very relaxing stay at this home away from home. The location was great for attending our granddaughter’s state track meet at UWLaCrosse. We had all the amenities we needed and enjoyed the view from our window. The host was very accommodating and gave good directions and information for our stay.

We had a great stay. This was our second time to the property. We rented the house and studio appartment and had plenty of room for the grandparents, parents, and 3 children. The new firepit area was a nice addition.

We spent a few pleasant days in the studio apartment in Brownsville. The location is beautiful and only 15-20 min to downtown LaCrosse with plenty to see and do . It was a relaxing vacation. Paula has information available about the area and the communication is very prompt.

We feel so fortunate to have found this rental. From the moment we walked in we just knew this was going to be a great trip. The cleanliness and charm of this little cabin made a huge impact. Our hosts were great, and everything that we needed, was there for us. We would definitely stay here again!

This was my third visit to this beautiful property. The apartment is comfortable and well equipped and has a nice patio with stunning views of the river. Easy drive to shopping and restaurants as well as hiking and biking trails. I’ll be back!

The apartment is nicely furnished with attention to details that really make it a wonderful place to stay. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. Beautiful view of the Mississippi River. Nice and quiet neighborhood. Communication with the owners is quick and easy. Would definitely stay here again.

Great view

We really enjoyed our stay. Very roomy and cozy for an above garage apartment. Everything there that you need for a longer stay. Fire pit was a great amenity. We enjoyed a fire every night overlooking the Mississippi . Very very close to Lacrosse which is where we took a riverboat tour and spent a lot of time. Paula was very quick with responses and very friendly. She had cookies in the room for us. They were delicious!! We got to meet both Paula and Aaron when we arrived and they were so nice. We will definitely keep this in mind for a future stay. Thank you to our wonderful hosts.

We built our new home in 2017 with the intent to leave a bonus room over the garage empty for whomever bought the house when we were done with it (years from now hopefully). But we decided to finish it off ourselves and use it as a rental since our town, Brownsville MN, does not have housing options available though there is quite a bit of tourism here. The until has been in operation as a rental through another site since May 31 and has been super busy all summer. We recently discovered Homeaway, though most of our guests come to us from the other site.

Why they chose this property

People who stay with us rave about how much they love the apartment. It is quite new so very fresh and clean. We went with flooring and furniture that isn't prone to collecting dirt/allergens, which has been helpful to guests with such sensitivities. It is very comfortable with room to move and though it's a studio apartment, the bedroom area is separate from the living room area. There are two queen sized beds but also plenty of floor space and reclining couch for additional sleepers, should it be needed. The full kitchen is supplied with my kitchen accessories that you frequently use (microwave, stove, fridge, toaster, blender, pancake griddle, etc). You can eat out or cook in. My guests tell me they appreciate the nice thick towels and comfy blankets that are available in the unit. The bathroom has shampoo/conditioner/soaps that you need along with a hair dryer. (In case anyone on vacation actually does this, there is an iron and board available for that lovely task.) We have free wifi and smart TV streaming video. If you are hauling a boat with you, we have room for you to park this outside of our house.

What makes this property unique

The simple beauty of our area is reason enough to come here. You will see much of Mother Nature's beauty right from the location of this apartment, but yet you are within 15 minutes of a city that is about 55k people and has most amenities you can think of. You have convenient access to city and country.
