I liked that I wasn't mugged in way into house. The house was filthy with shoes and debris strewn in doorway that needed to be stepped around. Smell in house was nauseating. Male owner never came to door to intoduce self; only female and child came w/o into. Left property immediately and secured hotel logging at additional cost. This should be taken off your site and off VRBO
We get there and the description was a little misleading, as there wasn't a private entrance into the room. The family was there and that was fine just a new experience. We get setteled in and leave for the afternoon. Come back that night to husband and wife arguing loud enough that even after they went upstairs we could still hear them. They left the following morning and were gone the remainder of our stay. We were nervous to venture out of the room. when we did find our way to the kitchen (which was nice although very lived in) we found no papwer towels or seperate fridge space. We had no towels or even an extra roll of toilet paper. Let alone even know where the laundry area was. Needless to say we managed and were glad to know they were gone the remainder of our stay.
Really lousy experience. I was in town for flight training for a week, so I was hoping for a simple, comfortable space to sleep and study between flights.
The place was a mess. Overgrown yard, clutter everywhere, dirty towels in the bathroom, disgusting toilet. Speaking of toilet: there was a child's potty just sitting on the kitchen floor! Speaking of the kitchen: Don't expect to use it as the "shared space" as it's advertised. There was clutter everywhere. Dirty dishes, open food containers, grimy counters. I mean... I'm not the greatest housekeeper, myself. But man, if I was going to have guests, let alone host my home... This would be so embarrassing.
If the filth wasn't bad enough, let me tell you about the noise. During the brief times that I was at the property for breaks between flights I heard:
- Adult fighting.
- Loud TV watching. (The TV room is within 5' of the rental bedroom door).
- Child crying.
- Child running around pounding on the floor directly above the room.
Not at all ideal for studying or chilling out between stressful training sessions.
So, on second day of my scheduled 6 day visit, I brought these concerns to the host. I had had enough and asked for a partial refund. He was seemingly understanding and agreed to reduce the length of my stay to 4 days. But, get this, everybody: He raised the rate when changing the days so that the total cost was the same!! Host is as slimy as his kitchen counters.
This room was perfect for our needs. The owners are friendly and respond quickly and efficiently. Their small children were a delight the few times we interacted with them.
