About this property

Secluded Lake View Log Cabin on 40 Acres

Amazing authentic log cabin located on almost 40 acres of private land with breathtaking views of Lewis and Clark Lake. The cabin is located in a secluded setting at the end of a long private drive that lets you enjoy the best of both worlds - just 5 minutes from the dock and all the lake has to offer and as well the privacy and amazing natural beauty of almost 40 acres of wooded countryside.

The cabin is designed to let you enjoy all the nature around you with large windows throughout the house and a large vaulted living area - as well a huge wrap around deck with plenty of seating for outdoor relaxing. Large bedrooms and two common areas provide plenty of room to spread out as well the kids will love the loft area that boasts a triple bunk bed, day bed and bean bag sitting area great for gathering.

The truly unique feature of this property is private wooded setting. You will be enchanted as you approach the property via a half mile private drive lined with thick trees and the best part is all of this nature is yours to enjoy! Plenty of trails and nature for hiking and biking and discovering all the amazing natural beauty this property has to offer. You can expect to see abundant wildlife as the deer, turkey and other "locals" graze the grasslands around the house.

On top of all this you are just minutes from all the fun Lewis and Clark Lake has to offer - boating, fishing, sailing, jet ski, kayaking, beach, golf, horse back riding, fun parks, bars and restaurants.

The fun does not end when the snow starts to fall! Due to the size of the acreage and secluded log cabin setting, the cabin makes a great winter get away as well. Perfect for a quiet get away to sit by the authentic Swedish fireplace and enjoy the rustic ambiance or bring the kids and make your own private sledding party (snow tubes provided). The numerous trails of the property offer a wonderful, secluded natural experience.

When you are ready to refuel after a hard day outside, the house has all the amenities to prepare a feast or take it easy and just enjoy a few refreshments as you share the adventures of the day while enjoying the breathtaking views of the lake from the back patio.

As well on those stormy days the cabin has two common areas both with 70 inch HDTV's and both foosball and air hockey table in the basement.

Heavenly log cabin
Fantastic log cabin loaded with creature comforts. Well stocked with plenty of kitchenware, spices, and a great selection of coffee makers. We loved having plenty of new towels and luxurious blankets. The furniture was comfy and the beds were superb. The owners have labeled the lights and fans which made things easy. The game room was really fun and it was nice to have the best mud room to organize our comings and goings. Gazing at Lewis and Clark lake while having coffee on the deck was really special. For me, the trail system built on this private property was a wonderful way to connect with nature and the serenity of this property. Chad, the owner, was extremely helpful, flexible, and generous. He shared some of the history of the cabin which was very interesting. Thank you so much Chad and Lori.

Birthday Adventure
We had a fabulous time celebrating a 60th birthday with the family. Really enjoyed the walking trails and my husband loved the comfortable mattresses. Kitchen and bathrooms are overly supplied. Also loved the beautiful fall leaves, lake view and the quiet!

Absolutely WONDERFUL!!
There was 15 of us and we had the best time. The home is so warming and offered enough room for our family. The children were so excited to see deer and turkeys when they woke up in the morning. We walked the trails, played yard games and relaxed on the large deck looking over the lake Thank you Chad and Lori for sharing your beautiful home. Plan on coming back next year.

Excellent place to get away and relax!
Chad and Lori are phenomenal hosts! They thought of everything to stock their beautiful cabin to make it a wonderful experience for all. The cabin has such beautiful character and the views are breathtaking. We enjoyed every moment being there - only problem was we weren't there long enough! We also have a special needs son that Chad even helped carry his wheelchair up into the cabin for! Truly, we can't thank them enough for their incredible hospitality. We will definitely be planning on going back again. Thank you for a wonderful time away - it was worth every penny!

About the host

We are both farm raised Nebraska kids who love being outside and exploring nature. Now, we have a family of 5 and enjoy camping and boating and all the fun the lake has to offer. We have 3 cats, 1 dog and 1 horse. Our summers are full of ballgames, family gatherings and as much lake time as we can squeeze in.

Why they chose this property

Chad grew nearby and spent many summers camping at Lewis & Clark Lake. Ever since we moved back to the area, we have enjoyed camping and boating on the lake. When we came across this property, we fell in love. Of course because of the quick access to the lake, but even more because it offered the privacy and natural beauty that we both enjoyed when we were young.

What makes this property unique

40 acres of private, heavily wooded landscape, with trails throughout for you to explore and re-discover true natural beauty.
