There are numerous hiking trails and promenades, then cycling trails and another interesting way to explore the beautiful natural and historical heritage of the Kastav region is horseback riding. The village of Matulji, also called the gateway to the Opatija Riviera, is known for its bell tradition, which is on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage. In the local taverns, in addition to local specialties, you can also try ?jarbola?, a wine with a particular taste, made from the local grape variety. Visit the nearby nature park U?ka.
