About this property
Kansas Escapes-Stormont Vail Event Center, I-70, Hummer sports park
Kansas theme, windmills, wheat fields, buffaloes, honeybees, art from local artists. Farm like but modern. It is located in central Topeka. The two rooms on the third floor have their very own 42 dB air conditioner to allow you to sleep comfortably without noises coming from unit. It is a very large kitchen great for family gatherings. Just added to the room off the kitchen is a dining room table that can sit up to six. This is our first time trying vacation rentals. We have stayed in them in the past. So we know what we wanted so we put this in to this six bedroom two bath 1918 farmhouse. All brand new appliances, stainless steel and tons of counter space. We are less than 1 mile from the world famous rainforest zoo, and local restaurants featured on dive and dined, Bobo. Electronic locks, self check in. This is probably the tallest house in a five block radius. From the third floor has an awesome view out of the picture window facing east. We are one block from public transportation. And best of all it is less than 1 mile off of I 70, super fast access to the highway. All new features like fast AT&T fiber optic internet, led lighting, all new carpet. We are very excited to share our house with good folks like yourself. Every thing in this house was remodeled to my taste. So come and book with Kansas Escapes and see what world class service feels like. All bedrooms have smoke detectors. Neighborhood Walmart within walking distance. Tennis court park less then 1/2 mile.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re considering staying at my place. A little about me — I enjoy gardening, spending time outdoors, and traveling whenever I can.
I was born in Canadian, Texas, but my family moved to Topeka, Kansas when I was three, and I’ve called Topeka home ever since. I’ve worked in customer service for over 30 years, so I understand what guests are looking for — comfort, care, and a welcoming experience. I always strive to provide that because, at heart, I’m also a traveler and a guest myself. So I treat people how I would like to be treated.
I look forward to hosting you!

Why they chose this property
When I decided to open my Vrbo, I didn’t have to look far for the perfect spot — I chose my own neighborhood. I’ve lived here for over 30 years, and it’s truly a place that feels like home in every way.
What I love most about this neighborhood is its charm and history. It’s an older, established area with beautiful mature trees, quiet streets, and a real sense of community. We’re just one mile off I-70, so it’s easy to get anywhere you need to go, but it still feels tucked away and peaceful.
Over the years, I’ve watched this neighborhood grow and change, and I’ve built so many wonderful memories here. I’m excited to share a little piece of that with my guests — it’s a special place, and I think you’ll love it just as much as I do.

What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly special is the story behind it. When I bought this house, it was an old farmhouse that had seen better days. I decided to take on the challenge — and, well, I pretty much started from scratch.
Over time, I poured my heart, soul, and countless hours (and yes, even a few tears) into rebuilding it from its original foundation. I wanted to honor the home’s history, so I kept it as original as possible — preserving its character and charm while giving it new life.
Every part of this home has a piece of my effort and love in it. It’s more than just a place to stay — it’s a labor of love, built with care and respect for its past. That’s what makes this property unique, and I’m proud to share it with guests who can appreciate the story behind it.
