Quiet Garden Studio Near Golden Gate Park

Located in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset District, this is a quiet studio with private bath that opens onto a private garden. It has its own entrance from the street, queen-size bed, kitchen area, shower/bath. Utilities and wireless Internet included. We supply all linens. One block from UCSF.

The Studio is available for stays of 30 nights or longer all year round.

The Inner Sunset is the quintessential San Francisco neighborhood: full of diverse restaurants, coffee houses, and shops. The Studio is just two blocks from the UCSF Parnassus Campus, including the University of California San Francisco Medical Center and medical school, and Golden Gate Park, including the newly reopened de Young Museum and California Academy of Sciences, the Strybing Arboretum, and the Japanese Tea Garden.

The Studio is conveniently located near public transit. Two blocks away, the N-Judah streetcar line runs from the Pacific Ocean to downtown (including the financial district, Union Square shopping district, Civic Center, and bay waterfront). Five buses also stop within four blocks and run to all corners of the city.

Garden Apartment

Great location for touring sights near Golden Gate Park

We stayed 2 nights in the Garden Studio. The fenced in garden in the back was very tranquil. The apt was cozy, had nice amenities and was reasonably priced for San Francisco. Some negatives:the freezer and refrigerator were in great need of defrosting and the sheets on the bed were torn. These negatives would not keep me from staying here again.

Great Stay near Golden Gate Park

Pros: - Great location - Communicative and Gracious Host (addressed all of my emails promptly and kindly, provided a partial refund due to painting crew) - Private and Cozy - Beautiful Backyard Cons: - The occasional spider - Painting crew was on location for the majority of my stay. they were occasionally very loud during the workday and left materials out in the backyard

Garden Studio

Studio is really cute, with lots of storage space in closet & vanity area. Outside yard area is full of weeds, ugly to look at & needs lawn maintenance. This Studio has a Severe Ant Problem throughout. My daughter got bit several times, ants got into the bed.

Cozy studio, amazing location

This darling studio was perfect for my visit to San Fran! The comfortable bed looked out at the darling private garden that had daily humming birds and robins basking on blooming flowers. The studio is right next to MUNI on the Judah line and 2 blocks from the Golden Gate Park. I was in heaven. This will be my main stay every time I visit my son who lives on the other side of the park. Plenty of places to eat, although i cooked in the kitchen in the studio most days. The studio has plenty of storage spots, hangers, makeup counter with sink and a magnified mirror. The TV and internet were a bonus! Even though i was in San Fran during the rainiest weekend I had a blast. Feb 19th -22 2017- Thank you for the wonderful stay!! Check in and out was simple.

Cute Studio with beautiful garden

We stayed in this cute studio recently for a single night, before heading to wine country. It was cozy, bed was comfy, and there is a really beautiful garden right outside the french doors. Lots of lush plants, and trees. Had a very Zen feel. Studio is In a neighborhood that is easily walkable. Many restaurants within just a few blocks. Recommended.

Great Inner Sunset Location

We stayed here for a few days before Thanksgiving to visit family who lived in the neighborhood. We had a lovely time. The rental is close to many good restaurants as well as Golden Gate Park. The unit is adequately furnished with a comfy bed, clean bath, and everything you would need in a small kitchen. There were coffee filters and little amenities there. In the future if we need a place to stay in Inner Sunset, we will certainly rebook this unit.

Fantastic - Highly Recommend

Early October visit: Had a great stay in this studio. It was the perfect size for me, well appointed with what a person needs, and the location could not have been more perfect. 9th Street et al was the area of choice for dinner almost every night and was very accessible from this studio. I loved having the door to the garden open in the morning and evening to let the fresh cool air come in. So so good - so good. If I had one comment, and a simple thing really, it would be to have filtered water or filtered pitcher - and that isn't really a complaint at all. LOVED THIS PLACE AND WILL STAY AGAIN. Highly recommended for a single person or couple. On a side note, thanks for taking the time to chat with me a couple of times Matt. It was nice to know the owner of who I was 'kinda' living with :) Thank you Matt, very much and I hope I left the place as perfect as I found it. See you again soon I hope!

Adorable Private Getaway!

My boyfriend and I came to SF for a fun run at Golden Gate Park and were lucky enough to secure this adorable studio nearby. We came late at night and checking in was a breeze - all the instructions we were given were very easy to follow. The neighborhood was lovely, we felt comfortable walking around at all times of day or night. The studio was close to several restaurants, bars, shopping. It was the perfect area, especially if you're going to GGPark (walkable!). The studio itself was well maintained and very clean. The garden was a peaceful area to relax in, drink your morning coffee. Studio was very cozy and cute, perfect for 2 people. I didn't have a chance to meet the owners but that's okay because that means there were absolutely no problems! We will definitely be back!

Quiet & good location, but interior small & rustic

On the plus side - Great central location! Also, the studio is quiet. Negatives - the studio is rather small and rustic. If you are a clean freak - look elsewhere. We killed 3 moths, and our toddler son couldn't get over rust in the tub. Also, still waiting for my cleaning deposit to be refunded. I contacted the owners 3 times without a response.

Small but Pleasant in a Great S.F. Neighborhood

This studio worked wonderfully for me and my two teenaged boys. The owner was very responsive by email, and the place was clean and comfortable. My older son used the air matress while my younger son and I shared the bed. Because the studio is at the back of the first floor of the owner's house, it's super quiet and has a lovely garden just outside the room which gave the studio a greater feeling of spaciousness. My only complaint about the studio was that the kitchenette is really quite small and hard to cook in due to very limited counter space. You really shouldn't count on eating in too much. But that's o.k. because there are so many great little restaurants right in the neighborhood. Inner Sunset has the feeling of a homey community with small shops, cafes, a farmers market, and all kinds of people just going about their lives. The neighborhood is full of lovely Victorian and Arts-and-Crafts style houses. We did a lot of wandering around, enjoying the Botanical Gardens at Golden Gate Park as well as walking to other neighborhoods (though the street cars are an easy way to get around, too). I would certainly recommend the studio to friends or family.

Cozy, private place to stay in Inner Sunset neighborhood near great public transportation

This studio is in a great location for public transportation to anywhere in SF. The N-Judah rail line, 6 bus and 7 bus are 1-2 blocks away. Staying here would be a good fit for those who want to be near Golden Gate Park/explore the Inner Sunset/need to be near UCSF. The Inner Sunset neighborhood is fantastic to stay in, period, since it's not only very walkable and full of unique restaurants/shops like you'll want to visit while you're in San Francisco, but it's just far enough away from bustling downtown SF to be relaxing. The frequent trademark SF fog and park in this neighborhood are absolutely gorgeous. The studio is very private, gets great natural light, and the garden is lovely. The space is perfect for 1-2 people, the bed cozy and warm. There are heaters in the studio you can turn on at night (or whenever) that work very well if you get a little chilly. The kitchenette is a good size, too. You have all you need in here. Would stay here again anytime!

Reasonably Priced but Tired and Uninspiring

My wife and I found this studio to be clean, safe and quiet. However, it was clear there just is not a lot of effort put into this apartment to make it a delightful experience. The bedding was clean but about as old a well used as it could get. The areas that your eyes would see first were clean, but the walls, backs of doors and edges in the shower area could use a good cleaning. The hallway to get from the street to the apartment was clean but dark and unappealing. The garden has potential but was over grown. The furnishings were functional but looked like something that has been passed from one poor college student to another for more than a decade. Good access to neighborhood restaurants and groceries.

Lovely studio for two in good neighborhood.

This studio for two is convenient to bus and in walking distance of many restaurants and bars, and is also walking distance to Golden Gate Park. Owners were responsive and accommodating to an early check in and leaving our bags in the studio for an extra hour upon departure. The only suggestion I have is a better book of local restaurant suggestions.

Should not be advertised to sleep three. Good location for our stay. Nice garden, but overgrown and needed some clean up and care. Kitchen okay, but lacked dishware (one glass?????) Mold around bathroom ceiling.

quiet setting and great area

This was a very convenient area in which to be - lots of restaurants, stores, etc. It was perfect for a quick weekend. Unfortunately, we couldn't take advantage of the beautiful garden setting because of the rain.

A Relaxing Area of San Francisco

We have returned to this VRBO several times because it is comfortable, reasonably priced, quiet, yet convenient. It is so easy to get into the Financial District with Westfield Shopping Center and Union Plaza from this apartment. You can take the Muni or ride the N Train and it goes right to Market Street in no time. The studio itself is cozy and comfortable, and it is in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. I like to walk down the street to the many restaurants and neighborhood stores. This area is not a Shoppers' Paradise. There are two really excellent shoe stores (comfort shoes, great boots, and athletic shoes) and a couple of lady's boutiques, and some unique little stores like a fantastic store and specialty shops, but there is not an abundance of stores. For serious SF Shopping Experience, you have to go into the city, of course. The owners are upstairs, but they are not intrusive. You can phone them if you need anything, but they have everything so well supplied and organized that it is rarely necessary to call them. This is not a fancy, modern unit. It feels like home with a door leading to the courtyard with an herb garden, it has a tiny but sufficient kitchen, and everything you will need. The wi-fi is great, the TV is tiny. It's a popular VRBO, so book your stay as soon as you have your dates, but remember, once booked, you cannot cancel.

Beautiful Garden Studio Apartment right next to the park

This is a beautiful studio apartment 2 blocks south of Golden Gate Park, and right in the middle of lots of shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Matt and Hope were both very responsive to all inquiries and made checking in and out very easy. The apartment has a full bath with a nice small kitchen, will all dishes and utensils included. It opens up to a beautifully well-kept Garden in the back. The light rail stop is a block away. We were able to walk to the Botanical Garden in less than 10 minutes (which is free from 7:30-9am!). We only stayed for a single night, but I could see how it would be very convenient to stay for much longer, and cook meals if needed. It's also only a few blocks West of the UCSF Medical Campus. Would highly recommend!!

Not a bad place!

This place is right near a bus line and the owners where very responsive. It had everything we needed. The place could us a little sprucing up but the price for this place was so reasonable it really didn't bother us. Overall, if you need decent place for a decent price check this place out.
