Although we reserved this property, John upgraded us to the property adjacent to the Hydrofoil hangar. So I can't comment on this listing. But I will say the property we stayed in was nicely decorated and comfortable. John was an active host providing excellent recommendations on local activities and restaurants with history lessons to boot. Hot tub was a welcome feature after a long day of hiking. Could have had a few more dishes considering the property slept 6. Baddeck is a good central location for touring Cape Breton Island and past summer season still has open restaurants.
Peaceful well equipped accommodation right on the lake .Stunning drives around and good eating places .Loved being in the hot tub overlooking the lake.Easy access to Baddeck and to the Cabot Trail. The host was very welcoming and gave us lots of information.Didn’t want to leave.
It was a great visit from the beginning! We were later than planned arriving and John was so kind to meet us on the road outside the ‘hanger’ so that we would find it easily. Adorable place with loft for sleeping. Great town and everyone was so very friendly. John and his family are very friendly and super helpful! Definitely recommend!
Our vacation in Baddeck started off by John personally meeting us out front of this house and happily talking with us about the area. He gave us great suggestions of places to eat, things to do, and had some fun insight into the history of the area as well. The best spot was their family coffee shop (Highwheeler Cafe) just down the road that had the best coffee and breakfast of our whole trip. The house was the perfect spot for us to base camp out of while we did our tour of the Cabot Trail and the surrounding area. We loved the hot tub that overlooked the lake and even took a little dip in the lake that was just out the back doors. The bed was comfortable and the house had all that we could have needed for our trip to the area. If we come back to the area we’ll definitely stay here again.
