My family and I have stayed at VRBO properties many times in the past. This stay was the worst ever for one simple reason, the property owner. On all our past stays prior to check in we receive a pleasant message from the property owner with access details. In this particular instance that did not happen. I was traveling with my wife and our two young girls. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and we arrived late, around 11 pm. It was a long day to say the least. We arrive at the property to discover the host never sent access details. I attempt to call the host and he does not answer. One of my girls had to use the restroom after the 30 minute drive from the airport. With no luck in getting access we were forced to book a hotel. I contact the host the next day to request a refund since we were never provided access. I received a very blunt message back stating he doesn’t provide refunds. I answered back even though I was never provided access. To which he relied back did I check the listing? That’s when informed him I screenshot everything and provided it to VRBO. It was at that time he changed his tone and asked why I didn’t ask him for access sooner. I told him my flight was delayed so we got in late to which he asked why I didn’t contact him to let him know my family and I were delayed. As you can see based off the back and forth he is host that takes zero responsibility and chooses to blame the guest for his shortcomings as a host. Not a good stay at all!
