We wanted a place to get away and relax for a weekend and we found it! Very nice and quiet space. Our dog definitely enjoyed the deck and backyard, as did we! Highly recommend!!
The bungalow was exactly what we needed...something secluded within the areas we wanted to explore. Niagra Falls and Watkins Glenn state park are a must. Mark was great, super nice! He gave us a tour of his alpaca farm, Lazy Acres was beautiful.
Quaint bungalow in a beautiful country setting. We stayed 2 nights and were gone most of the day for graduation celebrations at RIT. We didnt use any of the kitchen appliances other than refrigerator but had everything you would need. I would recommend for a small group as the 2 full beds were in the same room upstairs. We did not use the futon. Beds were very comfortable. Lovely deck for relaxing. Make sure you visit the alpaca farm , it was delightful!
Lovely location, quiet, and so peaceful. The deck and backyard with fire pit made it quite enjoyable. Had fun listening to the different birds, especially the great horned owl.
Getting to the backyard is a steep climb so I appreciated the railing, however I having a small gap in the netted fencing would have been nice to be able to get to the deck stairs and backyard without having to go through the house.
We had plans during the day so we weren’t able to take advantage of visiting the alpaca farm.
Will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

Musty.
My husband stayed here for a week. The location was very nice and the little house was charming but.... The house was so dirty and musty smelling it almost made me sick. The refrigerator was filthy and when you opened up any cabinet or the oven, you could feel the grime. Thankfully we were gone almost everyday and did not have to spend much time here except to sleep.
A lovely little house on a large piece of wooded property. My husband and I and our two dogs thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We road bikes along the Erie Canal from Pittsford to Fairport, had several dinners in Pittsford overlooking the canal, and drove to Seneca Falls to see the Women’s Rights National Historical Park. At the house, we enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and drinks on the deck at night, while the dogs ran around the fenced in portion of the yard. The house had everything we needed, including a large sleeping loft with two queen-sized beds, plus lots of room for our dogs’ crates, and a washer & dryer. Downstairs, there’s a living room with cozy and comfortable furniture, a breakfast bar that seats five, and a functional kitchen - no dishwasher, but we didn’t use that many dishes during our stay.
This is a lovely little saltbox cabin in a rural setting close to several points of interest. The tin roof was a wonderful addition on our rainy weekend, and the critters seem to like it too as they scurried over it in the early morning hours. The backyard terrain was not amenable to older folks and dogs especially when wet but there are wonderful country roads to explore and get that morning walk in. My dog loved the cows, alpacas, and chickens he met on our walks. Very few staples in the pantry, and a decent grocery store is 30 mins away so keep that in mind as you come in for that first night.
Location was amazing, and a free tour of the alpaca farm was awesome! The rental was not as clean as I've seen other places. But all in all a cute little weekend getaway!
The house is great, bed comfy and love that it is across street from a fun Alpaca farm that we toured (and purchased a few early Christmas presents!). The owners left a light and the AC on so comfortable from the start! Also this is a good spot to use when touring around Canandaigua and Honeoye Falls. And sitting on deck saw a couple deer in the backyard’
First and foremost, the place was cozy and quaint. We loved the privacy and comfort of having all the amenities that came with. However, the small kitchen appliances were not clean; especially the microwave and then to learn it didn't work after all. the shower had a mat in it that was moldy underneath and caused one of the girls to slip (not hurt). We ended up vacuuming, to include the window cells that were full of cobwebs and dead bugs/spiders. Then we blew off the deck which was covered with leaves and debris; thank you for leaving a blower so that we could do so. Also, it would be nice to have window covers on the lower level, closing shades or curtains.
Through no fault of Mark's, our stay was the ultimate doomed vacaction! My husband threw his back out within the first few days, then he got covid. We unfortunately had to cut our stay short once we got the positive covid test. I never even got to meet the alpacas!!
nnever even got to

The place was nice. The owners were very friendly and responsive. The cabin is rustic and set in the woods / country. It met our needs just fine, but you do have to remember where you are- This is a secluded cabin on an Alpaca farm in the woods. There will be flies/bugs, etc. Pack some bug spray and get out and enjoy the beautiful country setting! The cabin itself is tastefully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were comfortable!
The property was as described. It was super clean and cozy. We had everything we needed and it accommodated our group of 6 comfortably. The alpaca farm is a nice feature and our girls loved visiting and feeding the animals. Our hosts were very responsive and helpful and provided everything we needed. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it.
The colonial character is excellent. Very peaceful and quiet . The deck overlooks a wooded area. My wife enjoyed touring the Alpaca farm. Mark was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place .
Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage. Mark, the owner, was very pleasant and the Alpaca farm was beautiful. Perfect place for us to stay and visit our niece. Super quiet with lots of birds in the back wooded area. Accommodating pets was really appreciated and our dog loved it as well. I highly recommend it and will stay there again one day.
This adorable and historic bungalow was perfect for the 3 nights my sister and I were visiting. It has everything you could possibly need and is located on a beautiful and quiet property. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling through this region!
We loved the location of the property, it was quaint and serene. Comfortable beds, well-furnished deck with nice amenities. Thank you for your understanding letting us check out later. We will come back again.
Suited our needs (2 adults & 1 dog) perfectly. Loved seeing the special cattle across the street all day. Generously sized deck overlooking beautiful wooded area in the back.

About the host

WELCOME Your host Mark and Sharon reside just a stone throw from "The Baker Road Bungalow". Mark and Sharon own the largest Alpaca farm in upstate New York . The farm is a agri-tourism farm which has daily tours at 11 and 1 pm which we welcome you to take part in as our guest (n/c). The farm have a very unique gift shop that has all the clothing toys and gifts for your souvenir needs. Sharon is a nurse educator at The University of Rochester and works the farm right along with Mark.
Why they chose this property
WELCOME This property was purchased in the year 2000 and was part of 230 acre farm now known as Lazy Acre Alpacas. This house was built in the 1700's and has been part of our family housing our children during their college years and later my son living during his first years of marriage.. We rented it out for a few years later. After a devastating fire at our home at the farm. Sharon and I lived in the Bungalow for 13 months while our new home was being constructed .The we decided to update the interior replacing the stairs to the upstairs sleeping area . We raised the roof so that we had head room to be able to walk around.upstairs .The renovations turned out so nice we decided to share it with our VRBO guest.
What makes this property unique
Besides the bungalow and the property being such a unique piece of heaven .LOCATION ,LOCATION, LOCATION is what it's all about. you name it hiking , biking , skiing (winter and summer) , craft beer , wine tasting , shopping , museums , water falls , grand canyon of the east , festivals , concerts , gardens , and lots of great food .
