AWESOME house the water!
Such a clean and comfy lake home! The place was super cute with beach theme decorating. Spacious and they even had a coffee station set up. Fast communication when I had a question. Downtown was only 25 min away and lake huron was beautiful. Great fishing lake the house is on. The fire pit and deck was awesome. Peaceful. Loved our fall weekend there and would definitely come back!

Relaxing stay
Cute lakeside cottage. Was perfect for our family of 5. Our kids enjoyed the paddle boards and kayaks. It is a little removed, glad we stopped at the Grocery on the way there. Would stay here again!

Great Sage Lake Get Away!
My husband vacationed at Sage Lake as a child with his family. 42 years later...we wanted to bring our (now adult) kids to see his family vacation spot. We were so lucky to find availability at "Off the Hook Lodge!" This property is on a canal just off of Sage Lake. We have a 20 ft I/O boat that we conveniently put in at the Sage Lake public boat ramp nearby and docked at Off the Hook for the duration of our stay. The property's dock is very well kept and easy to tie up to. Cute stone steps or a newer wooden staircase gets you safely and easily from the house to the dock. If you have a boat that you want convenient access to, stay at Off the Hook! The property has two kayaks (one is a two-person kayak), two paddle boards, and a paddle boat, all of which we used (in addition to the three kayaks we brought with us). The watercraft were all in good condition, and there was plenty of space to store our personal watercraft during our stay. The back deck is partially covered, with adequate seating and a nice view of the canal. Grill is provided, but we did not use. There is a fire pit and lots of seating below the deck that we did use and enjoy. (Boy, do the stars shine brightly in Michigan!) The house was comfortable for 6 adults. Only one bathroom, but with good communication ("I'm about to take a shower, anyone need to use the bathroom first???"), it was very manageable. I have NEVER stayed in a rental that provided more supplies than Off the Hook! TP, soap, coffee, even extra toothbrushes! No scrambling for a trip to the grocery store to purchase essentials at this property. You can arrive and settle in, and eventually take stock of what you might need for the rest of your stay. Lots of towels, extra linens, etc. The most delightful feature of this property is the decor. You will not find a more complete collection of lake/fish themed decor in any other property! Throw pillows, lamps, rugs, wall art, mugs - everything is lake-themed! So fun. We didn't venture too far, as we mostly enjoyed the lake and the property during this trip. We did dine at Crusin's (open Fri/Sat/Sun) and Kenyon's - both were friendly and had good food. We drove to Tawas (about 30 minutes away) - ate at Augie's on the Bay and hiked the trails around the light house. There was a quaint-looking downtown area in East Tawas, but we didn't stop. An easy drive, if you are looking for a quick day trip from the lake. This was a great vacation spot!

A 5-Star-Worthy Hidden Gem
We could not have been more pleased with the entire process and stay at the "Off the Hook Lodge". The house is exceptionally appointed with details and amenities to ensure guests have everything they need to relax and enjoy the property. And with awesome canal views and very quiet setting, you definitely will enjoy. Several options are provided to get out on the water and the docks make it super easy. The over-sized fire pit provides the perfect ending to any active day. The owners demonstrate they truly care about their guests. We look forward to returning to this hidden gem.
