About this property

Quaint Island Getaway

Recently renovated 1960's farmhouse located in an authentic watermen's community.

The space
Large yard with plenty of room to run and play!

You will see lots of wildlife. Bald eagles, ducks, deer, geese, and the occasional red fox sighting at dawn or dusk. For their safety, do not let small children roam unattended outside, as we have a very large yard.

The property is sprayed weekly from May to October to minimize the mosquito annoyance, but insect repellant is recommended.

Note: Both bathrooms are located on second level of the home (3 steps above ground level)

Guest access
You will have access to the entire home and a few acres of maintained lawn for outdoor activities. Please be respectful of any locked doors or buildings, as this is our storage space.

Please keep all vehicles (including boats and trailers) on the gravel driveway and spacious parking area provided, at all times.

The property is a work in progress. We are fixing up things here and there, taking some old fences down, cleaning out old structures, etc. We ask that guests stay away from the very back of the property where the barns are located as this is our work space.
Other things to note

PETS - Pets are approved on a case by case basis. You are required to add your pet onto your reservation at the time of booking to obtain approval. If you bring your pet, without approval, you will be charged an additional fee of $250.

- Keep dogs OFF all furniture and bedding. Pets pose a health issue for some of our guests, so please be respectful and bring your own dog bed to ensure your pet's comfort during your stay. **If pet hair is found on any bedding, you will be charged an extra cleaning fee of $150. This is strictly enforced.**

- If my housekeeper finds damage to any property (inside or out), including chewed furniture, and/or missing, displaced or damaged items, you will be charged a damage fee of no less than $150.

4 security cameras are located on the outside premises of the property. One is pointing at the driveway/parking lot and side entryway of house, one is pointing at the shop buildings on the very back of the property, one is pointing towards the pasture area on the left of the house, and one is pointed on the driveway entrance at the road. This is live feed only when the home is occupied with renters; however, recording may be activated when the house is vacant. There is absolutely no surveillance or view of any private space within the perimeters of the enclosed property, as we believe privacy is of the utmost importance for our guests. The cameras are there strictly for security and safety reasons, as we need to be able to monitor weather conditions as well as people coming onto the property when it is not occupied by renters. Very nice home
This was a very nice well kept home in historical Deal Island. This home was very well equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Which was really appreciated because there is no stores really close. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic Vacation!!
We absolutely loved everything about this house. From Sarah, the owner, who was very accommodating and easy to reach to the quiet and peaceful vibe. Sarah thought of everything you would need for a vacation (from fluffy towels right down to kitchen necessities) which made our stay so much easier. I would highly recommend and can't wait to go back for another stay. Everyone that we encountered on Deal Island and the towns we visited - Princess Anne, Chincoteague, Salisbury, Berlin - were so friendly! If you are looking for a home base for your visit in that area this would be the place - not too far off the beaten path but far enough for peace and quiet. Sarah was also able to hook us up with Captain Harry Nield, KingFish II, for a fishing charter. One of the highlights of our vacation. Thank you Sarah! Darlene

This is our second stay here and will not be our last. The house is spacious, in a nice quiet neighborhood. The property manager was quick to answer any questions. Perfect for all ages.

A very well-appointed home. Our host thought of everything. All of the big and little details that we didn't have to worry about, like toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap, etc. were all there. There was plenty of room to spread out or congregate together. We want to stay longer next time.

We bought this property because we spend a lot of time on the island in the winter months and loved the space and want to bring the "farm" back to life. It's super special to us because we put a lot of time and effort into bringing this place back to life, after it sat vacant for a spell.
