Host was communicative and available for any questions. This place was what we needed, two people and a dog that is relatively barky. The seclusion is what we were looking for and we got it. The yard was so large for him to sniff and have a good time without any neighbors in sight. The screened in porch is where we would eat our meals or enjoy coffee and the view, great sunsets and some birding. The living room was spacious for us, with comfortable chairs. WiFi was great because we didn’t have great cell service so that helped us download some maps to have, etc.Appreciated there were filters already there for the coffee machine. Used the available glassware and one or two pans, so our kitchen time was minimal with simple meals. Really used the time to unwind or explore the wildlife in the area. The bedrooms were a good size and bathrooms were clean. The ceiling fans were appreciated.General tip for mosquito magnet people (like myself) taking a trip to an area with marshes or water, bugs and mosquitos are naturally a thing. At this place, there were a lot of times of the day where there was a nice breeze so it was easy to go to the dock and not get bit. I spent a lot of time at the dock without any bites! The one side of the house can get a little swarmy but if you’re quick and covered up, should be able to manage with just a few. I only mention it because I am a mosquito magnet with immediate swellings. Doesn’t matter where, the bugs will find me :)
Clean and accommodating host. Has many of the necessities for the home, including washer/dryer , soaps , trash bags , cleaning essentials , plates/bowls/cups, kitchen gadgets , and more.
Home feels safe away from predator animals . Couple deers around.
Bring insect repellent.
Peggy’s cottage was great, in a lovely setting, and she was a wonderful host. The house was very clean and had everything we needed in terms of kitchen basics, clean towels and linens, washer/drier, etc. She was incredibly helpful and accommodating, and very responsive to questions. We had a fantastic weekend at the cottage and would definitely go back.
House is very comfortable and well equipped. Host was wonderful and very responsive. The view of the water is beautiful and the property is very private and quiet. Due to the remoteness, bring everything you need with you as there are not many stores or restaurants nearby. Also, if coming during hot weather, bring bug spray as the deer flies can be a nuisance if you are not prepared.
Beautiful house right on the bay. House is spacious and clean. Bathrooms are all renovated and modern. Big bedrooms. Kitchen and living room are big enough for your family and friends. We loved sitting on the large new screen porch and looking at the water and the area. The property is private and well maintained. The bay is only 50 yards away from the porch. Sunsets are magical. There is a new L shaped pier into the bay that you could fish and crab right off of. Or, just sit and look at the bay and enjoy the sound of the water hitting the shore. The owners are as nice as they come. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay.
